His second stop two hours later at 7 40 a. M. He followed a 24yearold woman into her building on broom street. He grabbed the victim, took her identification. She yelled at the top of her lungs, he got away. Then an hour later he came here to the boo rack houses. A 40yearold woman was going into her apartment. That woman is a mother. The suspect emerged from the stairwell and started talking to her. He then forced his way into her those who live here tell me he likely got into that building because of the broken lock. How long do you estimate that lock had been broken for . The thing is that maybe a few months, but theyll fix it, and then soon itll break again or somebody dismantles it somehow and, you know, from just being forced open over and over again it just breaks. But i guess since they put the cameras in, they probably didnt feel like they needed to, you know, fix the doors right away. The rape victim was taken to attack. She was treated and released. Officials are trying to confirm whether the Islamic State militant known as jihadi john was killed in an airstrike in syria. U. S. Officials say a drone targeted a vehicle in syria in which it was believed this guy was riding. If jihadi john was in there, it would be a big hit against isis. But there are a few people who are on the fence this morning. Fox 5s Teresa Priolo has the latest. David cameron is saying theyre not yet certain, but if it is true, targeting jihadi john is a strike at heart of the Islamic State group. He said, quote, britain had been working with the United States literally around the clock to track him down. Its still too early to tell if the man known as jihadi john is dead, but a senior u. S. Military quote, 99 sure weve got him. The airstrikes occurred in the syrian city of raqqa, the Associated Press is quoting an unnamed u. S. Official in saying a drone targeted a vehicle believed to be carrying jihadi john. Activist groups in raqqa reported airstrikes and explosions last night. The u. S. Says this was just one of eight airstrikes targeting the terrorist organization. If jihadi john is dead, it would signal a major plow to isis blow to isis who has relied on the kuwaitiborn citizen for propaganda. Hes also known as a brutal executioner. Heres a rundown of what exactly fantasy football is all about. For those of you who have been live anything a cave or france, someplace like that, this is a football team. You recognize them, right . They wear helmets and beat up fantasy Football Players. This is a running back. His job is to run with the ball as far as he can without being tackled. If youre playing fantasy football, you have in this running back on your fantasy team, you have just acquired points. Your goal is to choose Football Players and watch as they accumulate points for your team. As your team scores more points than another team with Football Playerses, then you win, and you can brag and demean other people this is could talking [bleep] or smash. Stuck with the same team for a whole season, this player can have a new team every weekend. They need to pick nine nfl players without going over a 50,000 budget. We just want to apologize, we didnt realize that little word got many there, although thats what you do when you do fantasy [laughter] but we apologize. That should have been beeped out. All right. Everybody who owns these Companies Agree that it needs to be regulated. And by the way, youve had some kind of relationship with draft kings, right . Yeah, theyve supported our film. And so has the fox corporation. Has a stake, 10 or 11 in draftkings. Yeah. Theyve been great. But draftkings also, when i talk to them, they want to be the problem is this attorney general has basically just decreed this is against the law without i dont think he knows what its all about. When you gamble, when you go to vegas and you have odds on whether the patriots or the giants are going to win, youve got a 50 50 shot at that. If the attorney general wanted to, and id love to challenge him to play me in daily Fantasy Sports for ten games, ill beat him nine games out of ten because i am skilled at it. I know how to play. There was a fuel spill by webster avenue, then there was laterunning construction, now by the sheridan theres an accident. So three problems so far this morning on cross bronx causing a 90minute delay approaching the toll plaza. Lower level, thats 45 minutes. Lincoln tunnel, thats an hour delay. Theres a search underway, and theres video of the man that they want. He is wanted in three attacks against women on the Lower East Side. Pretty clear video. The suspect was captured on this camera. Hes accused of raping one woman, attempting to rape a second and robbing a third all on the lowerrer east side. All three attacks happened within the span of about three hours right around this time yesterday morning. Fox 5s robert moses is live outside where the alleged rape occurred. Ben and rosanna, i just got off the phone with police check anything with them on this investigation, they tell me they are still looking for this accused rapist. Those who live here along the fdr drive tell me that the lock on that door was broken, was broken for months according to these residents, and that may very well be how this accused rapist gained entry into the building. The lock, by the way, has since been fixed but too little, too late. Lets show you the man. Authorities say he followed a 33yearold woman into her Apartment Building on james street at 5 40 yesterday morning. He grabbed her, tried to rob her. She fought him off, he got away. That was the first stop. The second stop two hours later at 7 40 a. M. , the suspect followed a 24yearold woman into her building on broom street. He grabbed the victim, took her identification. She yelled at the top of her lungs. That scared him away. He took off. Then an hour after that attack he came here. At about 8 45 a. M. In this Surveillance Video that police have released, a 40yearold woman was entering her fifth floor apartment. The suspect emerged from the stairwell and started talking to her. He then forced his way into the apartment and raped that woman. Those who live here tell me both on and off camera that this suspect likely got into the building because of that broken lock which has been broken for a while. How long do you estimate that lock had been broken for . Oh, the thing is, is that maybe a few months, but theyll fix it, and then soon itll break again, and then or it somehow from just being forced open over and over again it just breaks. But i guess since they put the cameras in, they probably didnt feel like they needed to, you know, fix the doors right away. So just to summarize within a threehour time span an attempted rape, a robbery and then a rape here taking place almost precisely 24 hours ago. The victim here was taken to the hospital. The group behind this rally called Fantasy Sports for all. Their message, what they want to get across is that Fantasy Sports should be legal in new york state. Earlier this week the attorney general sent a letter to fanduel and draftkings, ordering them to shut down. In that letter the attorney general said Fantasy Sports is a multibillion dollar, illegal gam with bling scheme. Fantasy sports spiewz yeahses argue theres skill involved. Heres how Fantasy Sports works. Players assemble their own team of professional athletes and earn points based on their performance in games. Is it gambling or skill . There was a panel on good day new york a short time ago, and there was a definite be difference of opinion on this. The reports say the attorney general intends to seek a court order to shut down fanduel and draftkings. That could happen as early as monday. There are about 600,000 fanduel users in new york state alone, 500,000 draftkings users. This rally that youre looking at happening here in Lower Manhattan is happening at the same time as a conference thats taking place in midtown. That conference at the marriott in times square is called the daily Fantasy Sports players conference. Its the first conference of its kind. Fogle pleaded guilty in office to traveling to engage in illicit Sexual Conduct with a minor and distribution and receipt of child pornography. The secret Service Officer assigned to the white house has been arrested and charged with sending naked pictures of himself to someone he allegedly thought was a 14yearold girl. And sometimes that happened while he was stationed at the white house. Some of the communication took place while mr. Moore was on the job. He was actually interacting with this undercover agent. Hes also accused of sending lewd messages. Now, more security clearance has been suspended. Moores security clearance has been suspended. Hes expected to be in court later today. A Prosecutor Says the shooting of those two prisoner Franklin County acting District Attorney glenn mcneal says there was, quote, a very real concern that inmates richard matt and david sweat could be armed. Mr. Matt pointed a shotgun at an agent who shot and killed him. Mr. Mcneal says sweat actually ran away, ignoring commands to stop and washings that hed be shot warnings that hed be shot if he didnt stop. All right, everybodys talking about what could yesterday in court, a big blow to federal prosecutors. A man theyre wanted for a very long time in a case that was kind of immortalized on the screen was actually acquitted yesterday. Yeah. It was the legendary lufthansa heist case. Juliet huddy with more on what happened. This was shocking. A lot of people thought he would actually spend the are rest of his life in prison. After two years in jail, vincent asarra was a free man after a jury found him not guilty on a all counts. He says he believes the jurors found him not guilty because the prosecutions case was, quote, overkill. I just want to repeat, id like to thank my two lawyers. Without them i wouldnt be here now. Okay, id like to thank the u. S. Marshal service for treating me great. The lufthansa heist happened back in 1978 when armed thieves made off with 6 million in cash and jewelry at kennedy airport. It was the largest robbery in u. S. History at that time. Today, by the way, with inflation it would be about 21 steal. Investigators had suspected the mafias involvement over many, many years, but they didnt charge anyone until this case. In other words, the whole event was, essentially, an unsolved sort of mystery for decades. The story inspired, as you talked about earlier, the movie good fellas starring robert deniro. Fabulous. So the American FarmBureau Federation says the average price of the thanksgiving meal for ten people will go up just 37 cents this year compared to last year. The Farm Bureau Says the average price of that meal for ten people is only 49. 40, turkey and all of the trimmings. So i dont know what theyre making for thanksgiving meal, but theyre saying that the bird flu problem did not really create a shortage of the prosen turkeys frozen turkeys. Your fresh turkey prices have gone up, same with pumpkin. No shortage, so the price of the meal is has really only gone up about 37 cents this year. What about Brussel Sprouts . Ooh. One of the quickest ways to get rid of them is not to give to them. You are complaining about it, one of the things to do is stop contributing to it. It is difficult. It is mind altering, finding for yourself and finding places to get out of the weather. It was very difficult. Tore give to the organizations, and not agreeing to what the commissioner is saying . No, the comments if you give to the people and prompting them to be homeless, that is ob sush. I would never say dont give to a person on the street, that is a personal decision. In general, i agree with the mayor it is best mostly to give to legitimate organizations, like the new York City Coalition against hundreder and others. Rosanna people are concerned, joel, if you give the money to the people on the streets you are feeding the alcoholism or the drug habit and it is not helping them . The vast majority of the people homeless in new york are not substance abusers, are not many are working and just dont earn enough to pay for the housing. Sometimes they are not so good. Rosanna how did you end up on the streets . I was given Immediate Release and kicked out of the prison and became homeless. Ben how much can you take in on the streets, there was a post of a gentleman making 200 an hour. Is that true . I cant speak to that, but you can accumulate money, sometimes it is difficult. Some people do it just to meet the basic needs. The claim of them getting rich is not true. People are not going to the streets because it is easy, fun or a quick way to make money. Rosanna what was your best day . I have done it in means of being able to get cosmetic supplies or paying for medications or things of that nature. When i have done it, i never sat out there for a long period of time. It is meeting the goal and leave. It is hard to put numbers on the homeless problem in the city. You hear a lot of reports, you hear about the numbers in the shelters, do you believe that this problem is getting worse or better in new york city . I think that the problem is getting worse for decades. Tabloid packed mentality and focussed on the issue to scapegoat mayor deblasio. Rosanna i have a disagree, i have seen more homeless in the city. I was alive in the 70s. With all due respect, they could be inserted into the neighborhoods that are visible to the media. 50,000 were in the shelters and thousands are homeless, 1. 8 Million People poor, 1. 4 Million People are hungry. It is a horrible problem. I do think it is being defined at a quality of life problem for the nonHomeless People and i reject that. It is a city with 50 to 60,000 Homeless People is your estimate in the city of new york . That is how many people in shelters. You would think a city and this country would be able to handle this problem. But our policies are conservatives and stopping affordable houses and preventing the minimum wage hikes, half of the people that are hungry in new york state are hungry. It is about wages, safetiette in, we have slashed the public assistance and there are Public Policy reasons that the problems are getting worse and every city in the United States is facing a similar problem but the policies are failing. Rosanna i have to say, it is tough to live in new york city. You have to make a certain amount of money to live here. It is impossible. What i dont understand, there are a lots of city buildings that are vacant and for years, why cant the city, why doesnt the city go in and fix them up and give them to people who need it . They should. They have put a billion if not more in the Shelter Systems instead of affordable and low Income Housing for the people. So many abandoned properties in new york city alone. Ben nobody wants to be a shelter. Rosanna maybe get habitat for humanity to fix up the apartments. It takes government to solve a big problem. And call on the neighbors to be a little less nuts when the housing comes into a neighborhood. When a housing unit for women and children came into my neighborhood the liberal neighbors went nuts.
