Dari artists are working on a tribute to one of the most famous painters of all time. Steve arthur chien shows us why an upcoming Vincent Van Gogh bio pic will be a work of art. Only speak through our paintings and he could speak distinctly through paint. He died in 1890. His story is to be told in a movie called loving vincent, entirely made up of paintings through his trademark style. Were basically giving the audience a chance to see the world as vincent saw the world. Reporter to do that, each frame of the film has to be painted, which means hiring a lot of painters. Over 1,000 artists sent in portfolios from all over the world to work on the movie. 120 have been trained to deliver a groundbreaking stunning story telling format. We had to find animators and teach them how to paint like van go or find painters and teach them animation. Reporter he was not a famous painter while alive, so his subjects were evidence people he knew and who knew him. The central character of the movie is the son of a postman to deliver a letter van gogh wrote before his death. Hes trying to get to the bottom of it. Through his investigation into vincents death, we find out about his life. Reporter the telling of the story through a visionary presentation of the world through his eyes. An enormous amount of work going into it. The first of the artists started painting in january of last year. The producers tell us theyre about halfway through with the animation. The north wind that was out there, rather gusty. 15, 25 miles an hour this afternoon. Now its between 10 and 15 miles an hour. It will lessen up more as the night goes along.
