It was around this time yesterday morning when she was out for that Early Morning jog when she was attacked on the west side of Prospect Park near garfield place. She was able to get away from the man who throat eatened to rape her but no before he slashed her police are releasing a new sketch that they hope makes a break in the case. He has light facial hair, stands about six feet tall. Dressed all in black wearing black sneakers with white soles. He is wanted for attempted Sexual Assault after the young Woman Told Police he attacked her from behind and threatened to rape her from knifepoint. The young woman fought back and managed to break away but not before he slashed her in the hand. She required stitches but is in stable condition. Neighbors say this is an unbelievable situation in a park that many considered safe. We saw the nypd does have a presence in the park this morning. A large flood light and a Police Cruiser inside the park as well. You just got off the phone with the victim. Is that right . Reporter right. Its remarkable to think this stomach is able to have a conversation. He is doing all right and in the hospital. He was slashed in the hand and stomach and had to leave his vehicle here in the middle of the street because he was badly bleeding. We want to show you his car in the middle of the street. He is a livery cab driver. I just talked with him. Hes in the hospital now. The victim, a 64yearold man, told me he was driving a passenger when all of a sudden the person said he wanted all of his money. This was just after 1 00 in the morning. The suspect slashed the driver in the hand and stabbed him in the stomach. The suspect got away with 150. The driver believes the suspect is in his 40s. He also did not know if the suspect had a gun. This whole ordeal frightening for that 64yearold driver. He has family en route to the hospital where he is recovering. Despite this entire ordeal he hopes to get out of the hospital happening now, police are trying to find two robbery suspects who they say targeted more than a dozen cab drivers in queens. This video of the two men is not very clear, but police say it shows the suspects, they follow livery cab drivers back to their homes and rob them at gun point. Investigators trying to figure out what caused a crash that killed an ambulance driver and patient on long island. Police say the driver lost control and hit this stone support of the eagle avenue overpass on the Southern State parkway. This happened noon yesterday. The lights and sirens on the ambulance were silent, which suggests it was not speeding. A third person in the ambulance survived. Happening today, the taxi and Limousine Commission voting passengers from sexual harassment. This makes it clear to drivers that they cannot comment on appearance, ask passengers out on dates or talk about sex. The Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles expects to be back to normal today. Some customers were waiting for up to three hours yesterday. The dmv says anyones license who expired between sunday and wednesday have until midnight tonight to renew. Hes accused of stabbing a man during a road rage incident that was caught on video. So you can see it here. Police say the men started arguing inside a gas station, it spilled outside, punches thrown, and one man pulls out a knife and stabs the other twice. The man with the knife then calmly pumped his gas and drove off. The victim is expected to recover. Former Assembly SpeakerSheldon Silver has reportedly written a letter of apology to the judge who will soon sentence him on corruption charges. The Surveillance Video shows he was wearing all black, black sneakers with white soles. The young woman jogging yesterday around 5 15. Though told police this man tacked her from behind, tackled her to the ground and showed her a knife and threatened to rape her. The young woman managed to fig back and get a wa fight back and get away. She was slashed in the hand and is in a local hospital in stable condition. Police are in the park this morning. Police arrested 25yearold darren denninger of riverhead yesterday. They say he broke into st. Judes candle shrine last december and smashes glass and broke things. Some people wondering if that was a false sense of security. This young woman just 23 years old was running in the park yesterday when as you said she was attacked and slashed in the hand. Police are hoping for a break in the case with the help of this sketch. The suspect is described as having light facial hair, standing around six feet tall. You can see by this Surveillance Video, he was wearing all black with black sneakers and white soles. Hes wanted for attempted Sexual Assault after the young woman, the female jogger, told police he attacked her from behind, tackling her to the ground and threatening to rape her from knifepoint. The young woman fought back and ran away, but not before he slashed her in the hand. She required stitch bus is in stable condition. People who live here said they being in the park alone at night. You mentioned your wife runs alone in the dark. Yeah, early in the morning or at night, mostly with friends, definitely alone sometimes. I guess the neighborhood is just perceived to be safe and maybe the park less safe because its more remote, but still most people consider it to be safe. One of them died. It happened on lyndon avenue one woman was killed, three other people were taken to the hospital with injuries. That mangled bicycle was left at scene. Happening today, the socalled ninja burglar is expected to plead guilty to burglary charges. Robert costanzo admitted to targeting more than 100 homes on Staten Island through the course of the past decade. Because of the statute of limitations, he only faces three burglary charges in the borough. Investigators say he got caught after committing similar crimes across the tristate. Mayor deblasio signing a law that puts restrictions on where costumed characters in times square can ask for tips. The legislation sets up specific zones for people dressed in costumes. Well have your next weather and traffic on the 4s. A livery cab driver in the hospital after being stabbed during a robbery. It happened on cedar place in yonkers. Right near an elementary school. Today in new yorks Katherine Creag spoke with the victim a short while ago. Hes still in the hospital . He certainly is. What a horrifying story he told me. That victim still in the hospital at this very moment. He had been stabbed in the stomach. At one point he had to leave his vehicle here in the middle of the street. We want to show you this video. We saw Police Officers earlier taking a look at that sedan, the livery cab taking photos all around, gathering evidence. The victim, a 64yearold man, told me he was driving a passenger when all of a sudden that person said he wanted all of the drivers money. This was after 1 00 in the morning on cedar place. The suspect slashed the driver in the hand and stabbed him in the stomach. He also got away with 150. The driver told me he believes he ran off from this scene, he also the driver also told me he didnt know if the suspect had a gun, but it was frightening for him. Hes in the hospital. Hes waiting for family members to arrive for his brother to be with him. Back to you. Kat, thank you. Police are searching for two robbery suspects that target livery cab drivers. Investigators released this video of the two men. Its not super clear, but police say it shows the suspects following those cab drivers to their homes and robbing them at gun point wen hen they get there. Also happening today, the Taxi Limousine Commission will vote on new rules to help protect passengers from sexual harassment. The regulations prohibit drivers from asking passengers out on dates, making comments about their appearance. Violators could face fines of on long island, a windswept fire destroyed homes that were also heavily damaged by Hurricane Sandy. An electrical fire started this fire a mother and child got out safely. The home next door also caught on fire, and then the embers started a brush fire. The neighboring home was just about finished being built. The home owns were two weeks from moving in. Happening today, the postal worker who was allegedly beaten by two nypd detectives will be speaking out about his lawsuit against the department. The two detectives were indicted on Assault Charges yesterday. Theyre accused of beating the man, karim baker, after he left work in october of 2015. Bakers attorney claims he had been systematically harassed by police since 2014, a year before. Thats when baker gave directions to a stranger who then went on to execute two nypd officers in brooklyn.
