Thats why they tell you not to risk it in that type of weather. There was so much rain at citi field that a parking lot turned nearly into a lake. If that rain wasnt enough, the wind completed the onetwo punch. You heard chris talk about the strong wind and gusts that uprooted trees like this throughout the area. It really caused problems on the roads as well. Thankfully, no one was home at not coming back any time soon. Flooded roads were not the only dangers drivers were facing. A sheet of ice flew off a box truck and hit a truck for our sister station in connecticut. Similar reports of other cars were hit by flying ice. It ended up taking 28 hours, but passengers on the flight that diverted twice a are finally home. Flight 944 from the Dominican Republic was supposed to land at Kennedy Airport and was diverted to an airport in New Hampshire. Passengers stayed overnight in a hotel and flight diverted once again. This time ended up in boston because of heavy turbulence. It was really bad. Ive never experienced turbulence like that. To break in half. The pilot described it as a blender. Wow. The passengers finally made it to kennedy last night. Some people didnt risk another flight. They actually took the train home from boston. Nassau county is offering amnesty from drivers with long overdue parking and traffic tickets. According to news day, tickets issued before 2014, the tickets are worth nearly 119 million. The Amnesty Program could cut the original fines in half and waive penalty ies and late fees. Other surcharges will have to be paid. The amnesty offer begins next monday running through may 22nd. Apple ceo tim cook released a statement on the Company Website saying that apple will resist the federal judges order to essentially hack its users in connection with the investigation of the San Bernardino terror attack. Theyve asked us to build a back door to the iphone specifically, the fbi wants us to make a new version of the iphone operating system, circumventing several important security features. Cook went on to say that the can to help in the investigation, that apple loves their country and doesnt support terrorists but that in the physical world, what the fbi is asking them to do would be the equivalent of creating a master key capable of opening hundreds of millions of locks from restaurants and banks to stores and homes.
