It is unsure if a civilian fired the shots or a Police Officer. But two people have been taken to area hospitals. Were waiting to find out who the two people are. If its a Police Officer or a civilian. Theres also a police scene in Middle Island where police may have taken into custody people involved in what happened here in medford. A search under way for the hit and run driver who killed a teenager early this morning. Police say a dark van hit a 16yearold at Francis Lewis boulevard and sunrise highway just after midnight. The car never stopped. The teen rushed to the hospital in critical condition. We just got word a short while ago she did not survive. Her name has not been released. Happening today, jury deliberations resume in the case of an nypd officer who shot and killed an unarmed man. Peter liang is charged with manslaughter in the 2014 shooting death of akai gurley. The defense claims the shooting was accidental while prosecutors contend liang acted recklessly. If convicted. Liang could face up to 15 years in prison. Starting next month, detective squads in each of the nypds eight patrol boroughs will be under the command of a new detective chief. This change aiming to consolidate the departments resources while it targets gangs and violent teens. That gangs and teens were involved in more than half of all the shootings in the city last year. Four people were injured when rough seas forced them to turn the ship around. Officers blocked off a half mile stretch of route 112. Its believed it started Police Pulling over a driver here. Someone took off and shots were fired. Its up sure if a civilian fired the shots or a Police Officer. But two people have been taken to area hospitals with minor injuries. Were waiting to find out who the two people are. Theres a police scene in Middle Island on flores lane about six miles away where police may have taken into custody some people involved in what happened at the scene in medford. Police say the 16yearold girl crossing the street near francies lewis boulevard and sunrise highway in rowsdale when she was hit an the driver never stopped. First responders rushed her to jamaica hospital. She did not survive. Police say are looking for a darkcolored van that was last seen heading east on sunrise highway. Happening today, the Royal Caribbean cruise ship that was walloped by high wind and waves is expected to return to bayonne, new jersey. Four people were injured when the ship was forced to turn around. Royal caribbean is giving all passengers full refund and discounts on their next trip. Exclusive video obtained by news 4 shows the suspect Brandon Gonzalez following a woman. As soon as they step out of camera range, police say gonzalez exposed himself and forced the woman to touch him. This happened last week in. Police arrested and charged gonzalez yesterday. Also new this morning, Police Identified the man suspected of attacking a woman on the upper east side. 32yearold Gregory Anderson is the man seen in this video taken after the attack saturday.
