Passenger plane last month that killed 224 people. Russian Officials Saying their tests showed a little more than 2 pounds of explosive, tnt, used to make the bomb. The test shows the bomb was produced outside of russia. They didnt or couldnt get any further details about how specifically they knew that but, of course, isis had claimed responsibility for this crash and not only in written statements but as well as video and audio messages that they posted online directly afterwards. Russian pres tent Vladimir Putin vowing to hunt down those responsible. There is no statute of limitations for this. We need to know all of their names. Were going to look for them everywhere. Wherever theyre hiding, we will find them in any place on earth and punish them. The Islamic State said that was retaliation for russias air attacks against isis. Breaking news in the investigation into last months russian plane crash over egypt. Egyptian sources tell nbc news two airport workers are now being detained and questioned about that crash. This comes just hours after the head of Russian Security service and investigators found traces of explosives in the planes wreckage. 224 people were killed in the crash. This morning russian president Vladimir Putin vowed to find those responsible and punish them. Getting new information just in about the paris terror a being at thats. This morning were getting the sense of results now of raids that have been taking place in europe. Right now there are two people in custody. Today in new yorks Kerry Barrett is in the newsroom. Whats going on . Reporter information actually just broke a couple of minutes ago. Those raids continue. A spokesperson at the Belgian Federal Prosecutors Office confirming for us that two people have been detained. They are charged with two things, suspicion of complicity in a terrorist attack and participation in a terrorist organization or activity. Authorities say these arrests are directly related to the attacks in paris. However, they also say that they do not believe that either of these people were in france at the time. Perhaps they were people working behind the scenes in the planning stages. We dont know how many of those types there were. French Authorities Say there were another 128 raids overnight, a total now of about thats just in france. Since these attacks happened on friday. Theyve made another 23 arrests. There are more than 100 people that have been placed under house arrest. They also seized 31 firearms, computer hard drives, telephones, and illegal drugs. Now, of course, they are still looking for this guy. This is Salah Abdeslam. Several raids were carried out in brussels. This is an area known for fostering extremist groups. He was stopped by authorities and questioned near the french and belgium border after the attacks but they let him go. They didnt know he was related to this. His brother also apparently in custody this morning on charges related to the paris attacks as well. Working to get a little bit more information about him. As far as the investigation goes, authorities are still trying to identify a lot of the victims, and they say theres a lot to learn, especially as it relates to the attacks that took place outside of the stadium. The french Prime Minister saying this morning that there may have been two or three teams of bombers that carried out the attacks. Initially we were hearing four to eight bombers but apparently there might have been a lot more. They also say the majority of their attackers were unknown prior to this. Also an update on the airstrike that the french launched specifically in raqqah, syria. Dropping 16 bombs. French Authorities Saying they have destroyed two operation sites. Also, as i spoke with you last, secretary of state john kerry was meeting with the french president. He issued a statement after that meeting saying that he expressed his condolences to the french president saying president hollande will be in washington later this week and of course the countries, excuse me, are going to be working together to bring those responsible for these attacks to justice. In the last hour theres been two major developments into the investigation into that deadly russian plane crash in egypt. Today in new yorks Kerry Barrett is following all of it from our newsroom. Kerry, whats going on . Reporter michael, were getting conflicting information this morning. There were reports that came out in fact a short while ago that egyptian authorities had arrested two employees at the Sharm El Sheikh airport. They said for aiding whoever put a bomb on that passenger jet. However, they issued a statement saying that nobody involved in the russian plane crash had been arrested and, in fact, denied that any employees had even been detaped. Were still getting to the bottom of how that all went down, but heres what we can tell you for sure this morning. Russian Security Officials do confirm that some sort of homemade explosive device containing a little more than 2 pounds of tnt was placed on board that jet. Russian Authorities Say their tests on that debris confirm that explosive and also explain why that debris was so spread out. They also say that the tests show the bomb was made outside of russia somewhere. Where specifically we dont know because they didnt give any further information as far as that goes. The jet, of course, crashed shortly after takeoff over the sinai desert killing all 224 people on board. The terror group isis claiming responsibility online immediately afterward. Russian president Vladimir Putin issuing a statement this morning saying that he vowed to hunt down everybody responsible wherever they may be 450id hiding and see that every last one of this em is punished. Kerry, thank you very much. 6 02 right now. Now to the latest in the paris terror attacks. Two new suspects have been taken into custody in belgium as french officials continue their assault on isis. The Officials Say that they are directly connected to the attacks, however, they dont believe those two were in paris at the time of the attacks. It is in keeping with what we observed here on our way to the location. Belgium obviously linked to this. We saw eight or nine heavily armed military troops patrolling near the belgium embassy. The man they really want to find is 26yearold salah abd e elsam. He is said to be very dangerous. A brother of one of the attackers here in paris. We heard from one of his other brothers who was detained but then later told reporters that he and the family didnt know anything about where he is or what he had been up to. At the same time, secretary of state john kerry is here. He has met with francois hollande. The president of france. The two discussing this situation and greater cooperation with security. Secretary kerry reminded everyone after the meeting that they have been pounding isis for some time. Lets listen to what he said. Weve liberated the communities. Communities in syria, the threequarters of the border of northern syria. Its under control. Its taken away from daesh. We will be working with turkey to close the last portion. Egyptian officials deny reports that two airport workers were detained after last months airplane crash. They had told nbc news that two airport employees were being questioned. There have been 23 additional arrests overnight. 31 guns seized along with computer hard drives, phones, and illegal drugs. Now the man that you mentioned, michael, this is him, 26yearold Salah Abdeslam on the run. Were hearing his brother has been detained in relation to the paris attacks as well. He was stopped and questioned at the french belgian border shortly after the attacks. Officials there let him go. There are raids that are still being carried out in the district of brussels that is known to foster religious extremism and it is an area that a lot of these attackers, including that guy, has ties to. Also france continuing its airstrikes against raqqah, syria. Ten planes dropping 16 bombs. Two operations destroyed. Meanwhile, france is asking for help from the european union. According to police, that woman ran inside for help after she was grazed in her right leg. They were able to call an ambulance for her. She is currently recovering in stable conditi at Bellevue Hospital. But as for whomever fired those shots, well, police still arent sure.
