Theyre trying to come to some conclusions on these proposed flow zones, specifically areas that would keep some of the costumes and uncostumed characters in one place. Theyre on a deadline to complete some of this by the end of this month. This zoning idea is called the times square. It suggests breaking these zones into three, one for pedestrians, one for many of the events that happen here, and one for any activity. Mayor de blasio says this task force has to look at this as a quality of life issue. Commissioner bratton, however, sure all of these zones work. Im going to have to give some thought to that because in the sense of would it make it easier to control, certainly, but would it, in fact, work. When these clauses were put in six years ago, they were not fully fleshed and thought out. Today its very much the tail wagging the dog over there, where everybody can do whatever they want. Hacked at commack high school, and some of the students records were breached. It includes their name, addresses, school records. Thankfully, no Social Security numbers. Police are still trying to stabbed a livery cab driver to death in brooklyn. 35yearold ralph veras was working his first day solo when he was killed in east new york. It was early yesterday morning. Veras was sitting in his car when a man approached him with a knife. Police say mr. Veras was stabbed several times in the neck and body. His family is in shock, insisting he didnt have any problems with anyone in the neighborhood. He dont do anything wrong to nobody. Hes a real good guy all the time, come to this country to work hard, not to do anything illegal. Now, witnesses say veras appeared to get into some kind of dispute before that stabbing took place. The mother of the Linden High School Football Player is standing behind her son. That player was caught on video hitting another player in the head with a helmet during the game. Anita mcduffy says her sons punishment is too harsh. She says the incident on the field was an accident. She says that her son told her his hand got stuck in the helmet of the immaculata player, who needed ten stitches. Mcduffy said her son has apologized and that the incident was unfairly characterized as racial in nature. I believe my child. Im not saying hes right for what happened, im not saying hes wrong. On thursday, an Appeals Court ruled the borgata can force these women to stay within a certain weight limit or face being fired. The case is going back to a lower court. Two months in the hospital before they headed home. Despite all the work, mom and dad are thrilled. Its a miracle. There are no words to describe. We always ask, why . Wow, why us . For some reason or other, it happened. Like i said, its an absolute miracle and blesing to have. What mom and dad did is painted different nail colors on each boys toe. Thats to tell them apart. If you didnt think they had enough on their plate, they have another boy at home, a 2yearold. Hes now a big brother. Mom and dad say noah is very helpful and tries to burp the babies. Reporter i just spoke to the victims father a moment ago. As you can imagine, hes extremely upset. He says his son is 23 years old. He lives here in younkers. He plays sports, basketball, and baseball. In fact, last year he was drafted by the oakland as. He was here in this parking lot, a burger king, eating with some friends, standing around, whether police say someone came by and apparently fired and struck him. The victims father tells us he was hit in the head as well as the arm. He says he is not doing well at all at this point. Again, this all happened after 12 30 this morning. He was here with friends. Someone apparently drove by, hit him with bullets. We also saw a woman on the scene here earlier. She was clearly upset, yelling my son, my son. That victim was taken to the hospital. Hes listed right now in very serious condition. You can see police have cordoned off this parking lot here. Theyve been searching cars. That black mercedes there. Theyve also been interviewing witnesses. At this point, we dont know what the motive is or if that young man was the intended target. Were told the driver of a livery cab pulled over on west 231st street in kings bridge because one of the passengers apparently wasnt feeling well. A 23yearold man was then hit by the bus just after getting out of a cab. Both of the drivers stayed on the scene. Also new this morning, a little girl safe and sound. Her parents arrested for allegedly abducting her. 42yearold carlos hicks and 39yearold Jacqueline Hendricks both facing custodial interference charges. Hicks was also charged with aggravated harassment. Police say that their daughter, 10yearold celine hicks, was found in good condition. They say her mom, who doesnt have custody, took her from School Wednesday afternoon. Police are expected to release more information today about a man wanted for a string of gas station robberies on long island. Same person believed to be behind 15 gas station holdups in just the last two months. Police have released Surveillance Video of the suspect along with a sketch. Investigators say in each of these cases, he has been armed with a handgun thats covered by a tshirt or a cloth. Its pretty scary. Its not safe. Our kids are walkers to that middle school. Police say he crashed his car through a security gate at the waco Regional Airport and then tried to steal an executive jet. In florida, a school bus plunged into a pond, and a group of Good Samaritans jumped in to rescue the children. There were 27 students on that bus when it crashed into the water near tampa bay. Law enforcem t sources telling news 4 that 36yearold Joseph Danclair was picked up last night. Police believe he spent time with a 35yearold woman who was found dead in brooklyns Bushwick Hotel in july. They also say he was with a woman who was found inside the Manhattan Broadway Hotel justt about a week ago. Second guard from Rikers Island scheduled to be arraigned today in connection with the ke beating of an inmate. Nakia gales and Herman Jiminian arlee facriing charges. The case dates back from january of 2014 when gales allegedly got into a dispute with a rikers inmate. Prosecutors say with jiminians help, she later recruited four other prisoners to attack that fe inmate. Gales pleaded not guilty yesterday. In jersey city, a heated debah taking place at a School Board Meeting over whether to add a muslim holiday. Some from the Muslim Community walked out as the School Board Denied their request to close school for the holiday next week. The holiday had Unanimous City Council support. The school board says that it would not create a new holiday, what they describe as at the last minute. Were no mannger t minority. Thats clear from tonight. Soon. Cause undue hardship on possibly 5,000 or 10,000 people who have going to have to scramable to get coverage for their children. The school board stay ays students can be legally excused for religious reasons. Members of the Jewish Community pointed out the school didnt d holidays like raasch that shan that.
