Reporter these attacks, two of them michael a stabbing and a shooting happened right here on parade route. Tragically, the man who was stabbed, he died at methodist hospital. You can see nypd are still here on the scene providing security for the parade. But also dealing with a crime scene. A second man was shot. He is still in the hospital. Were told hes in stable condition. There is a huge celebration going on, but then you have a crime scene in the middle of it. This is the overnight parade before the official parade later on. He was unconscious when he was pulled from the water. Were told there were two other people on board the sailboat. On long island, a warning for parents, especially in west islip. Two elementary kids say that a woman tried to lure them on april school bus. It happened this past week on hig by lane. She tried to encourage them to come on the bus. A driver got a scare when a tree crashed into his van in the bronx. The van was travel early yesterday when a branch fell from a tree and fell on to the front of his vehicle. He wouldnt say how much he paid for the hunt and dispute the claims that cecil was killed with a gun. Today in new yorks Katherine Creag is in Crown Heights along the parade route even as this is going on. Reporter right, exactly, michael. The parade ended a little while ago. Traffic opened up. Right over in that area that you seets, there, a few Police Officers remain next to the Brooklyn Public Library where right here by grand army plaza, this is where a shooting and stabbing took place. Its to be cordoned off by police tape. Thousands of people at the very start of the parade, around 2 00 a. M. Thats when a young man was stabbed and another young man shot. That man who was stabbed in the chest, he was 24 years old. He died at methodist hospital. A second young man was shot in the back. He survived. Hes listed in stable condition at that same hospital. We talked with a paradegoer who walked past the crime scene. Theres so much people around, you dpoent know which one did it. Its going to be hard to find because theres so many people around at the moment. Reporter the nypd still looking for the person who committed these crimes or perhaps more than one person. Also, the overnight parade known as jouvert, thats when the shooting happened. It started an hour later. Paradegoers said it was confusing. The officer was trying to stop a suspected drunk driver. Police say the vehicle brushed against the officer as the driver escaped. Police are looking for a black ford fusion. The officer has minor injuries. Happening now, a desperate search for a 16yearold. His family says that matthew left and they have been searching for him ever since. Volunteers have been searching, putting up flyers. The family says only that matthew has his wallet, School Book Bag with him, but no cell phone hes a friendly person. Hes very friendly. He like to make friends. Matthews is described at 55, weighs 135 pounds. He has no history of running away. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to call police. On long island, Suffolk CountyPolice Arrested two people taking a dangerous swim off of fire island. They jumped into the water from a boat. They didnt know the boat was anchored in a tidal kurn current. A 13yearold girl had been in the water with them. She was able to make it back to the boat on her own. All right.
