sheila dixon. good evening, i'm marybeth marsden. this is the jury's third day of deliberations. brian kuebler has been standing by at the courthouse since early this morning and joins us with more. brian? >> reporter: that's three days and 19 hours of deliberation but again this jury asked to go home again tonight with no verdict. after passing a note this morning saying they were making great progress the dixon jury asked to be released for the third day in a row saying "we have not completed deliberations but we're making progress, can we continue tomorrow"? the judge said he wanted to follow the jury's lead in this case and dismid missed them at 4:30. >> not totally unexpected. absolutely not. i've been around long enough to know you can never predict what a jury will or will not do. >> reporter: the state prosecutor is not concerned. and neither are dixon's attorneys saying you can never know what a jury is thinking. this jury, they say, is taking this case very seriously and the only thing the mayor can do is wait yet another day. >> it's not easy but the mayor is holding up very well. and as you know from this past weekend she was out and about her business and doing the city's business and when she she leaves the courtroom she goes back to city hall and does business. >> reporter: day four of jury deliberation in this case will reme tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. reporting live in downtown baltimore this evening, brian kuebler, abc2 news. >> thank you. police in baltimore city and county teamed up to bring down a dangerous suspect in a shootingout on saturday but they are backing away from calling him a suspect in the catonsville convenience store murder from last week. the shootout happened saturday on pen lucy road in southwest baltimore. police say the wounded man is actually a suspect in an armed carjacking that happened the night before in catonsville. in that incident a 27-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound but is expected to survive. a county officer called for city backup when spotting the suspect getting into another vehicle. that driver turned out to be a hack. >> this marked unit did come out and stopped this vehicle. at that time the suspect who was shot later jumped out of the car, fired several shots at officers and then began running. >> after the shootout police questioned the illegal cab driver and then released him. anne arundel county police need your help finding the driver who hit and killed a pedestrian in glen burnie over the weekend. it happened 2:00 saturday morning in the 100 block of west ordnance road near roberts court. police say matthew burgess was hit by an eastbound vehicle described as a ford explorer or mercury mountaineer. he died at the hospital. police say the side mirror is broken and there be could other possible damage on the driver's side. if you have information about the crime you're asked to call police at 410-222-8573. three men are recovering tonight after being stabbed in east baltimore. it happened around 2:30 this morning at curly and monument streets. the victims are expected to be ok. police are still looking for a suspect. in west baltimore two women were stabbed outside of a bar early this morning. it happened at the corner of smallwood and vine streets. police say the stabbing followed an argument and a fight outside of a bar. the women are in critical condition at shock trauma. the catholic archdiocese of baltimore says allegations of sexual abuse against a maryland priest are credible. monsignor thopg bevin has been removed from the church in cumberland. accused of abuses at two churches the 1970s. he denies the allegations. friends and family said a final goodbye to a maryland soldier killed in the fort hood shootings this month. lieutenant colonel juanita warman of havre de grace was laid to rest today at arlington national cemetery. warman was a military physician assistant, helped service members cope with the mental strain of deployment. warman herself was at fort hood to get ready for deployment to iraq. she had worked at the perry point veterans affairs medical center in cecil county. a special honor today for a fallen fbi agent. who was killed in the line of duty. the baltimore fbi field office has been officially renamed the sam hicks building. more than 200 people gathered for the dedication ceremony this afternoon. hicks was killed last november while serving a warrant in indiana township in pittsburgh. >> the fbi in these four walls today stand strong and unyielding because sam and hundreds of other agents and police officers before him laid the foundation for which they stand. >> hicks' widow and 3-year-old son helped unveil a plaque in the building. tonight, howard county police have released the name of an 8-year veteran found dead in her columbia home over the weekend. police officer first class jennifer cree was found by a family member. police say they don't suspect foul play and are investigating whether her death may have been caused by a medical condition. funeral arrangements haven't yet been finalized. baltimore county police used pepper spray to break up a fight at overlea high school this morning. two girls got into a fight just before 8:00 and would not stop until they were sprayed. police say. the girls were taken into custody and several other students were treated after complaining about exposure to the pepper spray. a chilly day today and cold, kind of rairn evening out there. as you look live at the inner harbor. wyatt is standing by with a first look at the forecast. >> all good news, right? i mean, rain, chilly, late november. it's going to happen. i think tonight you're going to notice more rain on and off throughout the evening and into the day tomorrow. look at maryland's most powerful doppler radar -- we're tracking probably the heaviest rain now across the eastern shore. in fact really prty far inland now tracking into delaware, across route 404 into easton, definitely some wet weather there where it meets up with u.s. 50. so bottom line here, look for wet weather, bay bridge now also experiencing some fairly wet weather. our next rounds of rain down in dc now, moving up the i-95 corridor, wet weather on tap here in very short order again for baltimore. in a little lull now but wet weather already edging into glen burnie and elkridge, moving up into the city. more periods of rain overnight tonight. overnight low temperature 44 degrees. no fear of freezing precipitation but it will be a chilly rain at daybreak again tomorrow. we'll talk about the outlook for the rest of the week. look at thanksgiving and holidays and that busy travel day wednesday, all that coming up in a few. that massive watermain break in dundalk back in september is still causing traffic delays. workers are reinforcing the watermains so expect lane closures on broening highway through tomorrow night. lanes open for holiday traffic but expect more closures in the middle of next week. tonight there are four bitters for baltimore's historic senator theater. that includes the owner of the charles theater and towson's radio station wtmd. among other things proposals call for he can expansion, apartments and live entertainment. a recommendation will be made to the baltimore mayor. the city took over the theater after it failed to sell at auction. mayor sheila dixon signed a bill expanding live entertainment at restaurants and taverns in baltimore city. it defines live entertainment as music including deejays, theaters standup comedians, magic acts, dancing and businesses in certain areas of the city. bar owners hope it will boost business. in these tough times many people are racking up big bis and struggling to keep up with the payments. they are learning the hard way when it comes to collection companies it's debt do you part. tonight at 11:00, abc2 news investigators look at the growing number of complaints about debt collectors who skirt the law to get you to settle up. from threatening bodily harm to hounding you with hundreds of phone calls, some companies will stop at nothing. >> their goal in my opinion is to get as much payment as quickly as possible with as little trouble as possible. >> reporter: tonight, at 11:00, which companies racked up nearly twice as many complaints as any other collection works with her church to provide meals for those in need. it's her mission to stamp out hunger. >> if you come and tell me you're hungry we got to find something to feed you. >> reporter: the maryland food bank makes it possible for people like vivian to help the hungry. they provide all kinds of food to partners who feed the needy. their warehouse is everything from canned veggies to cans of soup. >> our mission is to end hunger. rear really trying to -- we're really trying to lead a movement, get all marylanders behind the mission of ending hunger. >> reporter: fulfilling that mistakes a lot of work. the food bank is always looking for help in the form of donations and volunteers to sort and pack the food. and the need is growing, especially with the bad economy. >> we're in the middle of a storm that isn't going to go away right away. because of the recession and economy the people that we're seeing accessing food shelves these days are very different than the people that we saw a year ago or two years ago. they are people who just last year were middle class and able to write checks in support of the food bank. now they are going to food shelves to get assistance. >> reporter: that assistance can go a long way for people who have nowhere else to turn. >> the look and the gratitude we received from the people who received from us, i tell you, just warms your heart. it really dropoff centers. first, at abc2, 6400 york road, we usually get a huge pile of toys. then there's the capitol funding group, east lombard street, forest drive in annapolis and york road in towson. merritt athletic club, baltimore county fire departments, maryland state police, hippodrome and any wal-mart. drop off the toys now, they will be distributed to kids in the area september 22nd. here's a first for towson university's marching band. it's the only university band in the country to be a part of this year's macy's thanksgiving day parade. students, faculty and staff at towson gave the 230-member band an official sendoff today. >> what i'm very proud of is the camaraderie, for many of the studentsist their family away from home. it's how they spend their time. >> i'm told the band will be marching before santa claus, too. prime location. the thanksgiving day parade is this thursday in new york. the three-hour event begins at 9:00 a.m. today johns hopkins bayview hosted an open house and tour of its new state of the art operating rooms. hopkins bayview unveiled its intraoperative ct brain mapping software and endovascular suite. the technology gives surgeons a new perspective during complex brain, spine and trauma surgeries. >> it's almost like having a very precise navigational system like the one you have in the car, we use it obviously as a system to navigate the human body. >> the hospital is the first in the state and second in the nation to use the technology in two of its three new operating rooms. state of the art weather center, right? >> yeah. i don't even know if we're that high-tech. >> close. >> we've been using the high-tech to track the mesesy rain in the area all day. we knew it would be a lot cooler because of the rain and fifth inch at bwi marshall. we only topped out at 50 today. 46 the low. take a look at the beach. this area of low pressure giving us the rain today, not a powerhouse storm like last week but still has the ocean churned up pretty good, in ocean city look at this. look at that wind east at 29 miles per hour. so, yeah, choppy day down on the water and back here we've had some water of our own. from the sky. a lot of rain today and another round we're tracking now on maryland's most powerful doppler radar. basically moving up anne arundel county now, you're getting most of the rain, this is going to continue to track northward through baltimore the next couple of -- maybe next hour or two, i think we'll see it slide up through whitemarsh and on up to cecil county. intermittent rain, periods of rain overnight tonight, on and off for the rest of the night and even into the day tomorrow. not a pretty start but it was chilly, especially north and west of us, down in the 30s. i think tonight we'll look for temperatures hovering in the 40s. we're in the 40s now. wind chill factor feels a little more like low 40s when you throw in a breezy northeast wind and that sort of chilly soaking november rain. it is chilly stuff out there. right now we're watching the bulk of the rain basically centered right over maryland. it will continue to move up through new england overnight and into the day tomorrow but the murky weather is not going anywhere. in fact the entire eastern, almost 2/3 of the u.s. socked in with cloud cover. a much more active weather pattern, jet stream active over top of the eastern u.s. will keep us kind of murky. we will also see some of that cool air hang out too. no big warmups over the next few days. i think we'll at least get back in the 50s tomorrow. it will certainly not be a warm someday by any stretch of the imagination. forecast model now, break down the chance of rain in detail, it's going to stay fairly persistent overnight tonight. showers on and off. at daybreak tomorrow, morning commute probably slick. no real rain, you may see drizzle and without a lot of sunshine to dry us out later. stays cloudy wednesday. it's one of the busiest trfl days of the year and we have rain in the picture wednesday afternoon for travels and probably very messy up towards chicago, which of course is one of the busiest airports. kite be a headache even more so than normal this wednesday for all the thanksgiving travelers. 44 degrees tonight, rain on and off. again, chilly, breezy. through the day tomorrow, i think we'll top out 56 degrees if we're lucky. cloudy, a little drizzle, not as much rain tomorrow. 7-day forecast -- i always get a kick out of our turkey. a real energetic guy with just a couple of days to go. temperaturewise upper 50s as we move toward thanksgiving day. not a lot of really nice weather though i don't think. until we get into maybe late friday. right now saturday and sunday look pretty fantastic. sunshine, seasonable, 50 degrees. >> thank you. the undefeated indianapolis colts, well, they defeated the ravens yesterday. though it was a great game. the ravens forced peyton manning into making mistakes but indy tightened every time the ravens had a third down, no touchdown. in the third quarter with the chance to beat indy for the first time in seven chances joe flacco froze a pick -- throws a pick. indy wins 17-15 . >> obviously disappointing, tough loss. i thought our guys competed and fought. and did everything they could to try to find way to win the game, all could have done better, me included given the situation of the game. but we rebounded up to the first drive. the obvious different was the red zone. >> ravens now 5-5. play pittsburgh this weekend. a sunday
