Two officers wounded. A suspect shot and killed. It appears he is down on the ground when the fatal shots are fired. That is one angle of the incident. I think that particular individual was also interviewed and he suggested in the course of the interview that was one partial view of the incident after the incident had already began. We, of course, will locate that individual and get his version of events and compile that with the other information we have. We have other additional witnesses who have come forward. We got more today on what went down in the moments before the shooting. Two d. C. Officers on the Crime Suppression Team responded to reports of gunfire. They tried to find the suspect. He took off running. The officers caught him and started to struggle. The video captures the point when the officer started firing. Only one officer opened fire. Body cam video likely will be crucial to determine whether the suspect who appears to be on t threat when he was shot. The suspects gun was recovered from the scene. The involved officers had both activated the body worn cameras before the foot pursuit began. That footage is currently under review. One of the officers has been released. The other still is hospitalized but is expected to be okay. Now we have posted this video along with letter abc7s reporting on the shooting online at wjla. Com. She claimed she was in the act of lowering the gun when it went off but tonight she is behind bars facing a charge of first the family is devastated by what happened. Neighbors say the 17yearold perry was a good kid and chase seemed like a good mom. To me this is a great loss. The mother is going through a loss right now. The officer was getting dorseys car towed before discovering there were warrants out for his arrest. Dorsey jumped in the car and drive at the officer forcing him to fire.
