into the chesapeake bay. dozens of people are working to save their homes tonight in maryland. >> we are in a waterfront house which has stood since 1934. this store -- is door used to open up onto the beach, and this is what you see now. the shoreline was struck with such fury, the serbs threatened to sap these houses into the bay. >> it is mother nature. there's just nothing we can do. we are evening and into the early morning. we spoke with county officials and they say they can provide sand, but that is about it. tonight, the residents of the community or appealing to the governor to send any help he can. >> the weather is also to blame for making some buildings unable in southeast d.c. several shops on 15th street are being evaluated on fear the buildings could collapse. so far,
