The snow really picked up around 3 and the roads are roll cue down the road des moines public works crews have worked around the clock to keep the there are about 100 different pieces of equipment helping to clear the city streets. Crews are starting with the most important roads first than making their way onto the residential side streets. This is the second time this year public works has tried out its new snow plowing wing techniques. On the major roads anywhere between two and five plows Work Together to clear the road in one pass. Not only does that help clear the roads faster. But the public works director Say Something else is working in the cities favor 551404 i think it helps that were in between holidays so a lot of people on vacation and of course children are out of school makes for lower traffic but i think a lot of people i think are exercising discretion by just staying home the salt brine solution crews laid down last night. Really helped make snow removal easier today. Public works says this weather temperature is perfect for the salt to work most effectively there have been numerous across the state. The founder of the non profit said he started it because he wanted to keep do. Make them work. The plan was to just keep them safe but they are learning so much more. I want them to learn how to start it, manage it and run it. This is only the second time there has been enough snow to go out and shovel. But the boys business is growing. Officers found two people shot in the hallway of an apartment complex around 11 oclock. 36yearold Tacono Conner of des moines died at the scene. 37yearold amy stolki of des moines was also shot. But police say shes expected to survive. Police have identified a person of interest and are hoping to talk with him sometime today. However, at this point. A des moines woman died today when the charter bus she was a passenger in crashed in chicago. Officials say 21yearold Nicole Underwood died on a burlington trailways bus. Police say the bus was on interstate55 when the driver lost control and hit a construction sign. Four other passengers were taken to the hospital. The bus driver told police he was trying to avoid a pickup moving into his lane. Swerving, next thing i know i hear boom front window, side window. Bust open. So much blood.
