I can tell you it is much roads are pretty clear, when you are a major interstates but more troublesome spots seem to be side streets and on and off ramps have been really slippery. Vanessa when strong winds start whipping the snow around blowing snow can really create its own problems. Vanessa city, county, and state plow drivers can only do so much. You could start to clear the roadway and then we have isolated spots where you think the roads ok and somebody sets their Cruise Control again and they end up in a slick spot and spin out of control. Vanessa the problem is the wind makes certain areas of the road appear clear, but then the minute there is a wind break ice and snow piles up. Some of the closed areas, the protected areas, are the worst right now because the winds blowing most of the snow off where its not protected, but the protected areas is really bad. I can to you that there are trouble areas are the on and off ramps. They are better than yesterday but one thing to note is the roads are still wet. Even though they are plowed, you want to watch out because of the potential for black ice. Another troublesome spot, under if you are traveling any of those, possibly some slick areas. The most troublesome so far seems to be the on and off ramps. Looking at iowa 511, there seems to be a lot of roadways still cover, 35 south of des moines.
