Kevin im going to be standing right in the middle of this. Let me get can see the beautiful sunset we have going on to the west of boston, really in boston as well its pretty, i like it, because you may not see it the next couple of days. 65 degrees, the temperature right now. Dew point at 60. It is muggy out there and winds, already from the east, theyll be from the east and northeast tonight and thats going to be an important part of this forecast. Your dinnertime temperatures, 72 in norwood and 70 in bedford. With that humidity out there, feels just a little warmer too. Its a nice evening actually. Rainfall earlier today, i dont like to just show you numbers average for the month. Ok. Only by a tenth of an inch, but still, thats something good to think about, considering the drought situation weve been in. Still ten inches plus below normal in boston even after getting. 22 inches from the rain that came by this morning. The rain is well offshore. Nothing happening in southern new england as far as rainfall. But the clouds are there. You saw those with the sunset, there are a mixture of clouds and clear sky out there. Off to the northwest, theres this system, the spin in the atmosphere, we call this a cutoff area to the upper part of our atmosphere, its spinning around, going to spin around to the southwest of us. But the importance of that is and you know we talk about the jet stream and how storms move along with it. This becomes part of the jet stream. And it actually circulates the air from the south, back northward toward us. But up above us, at the ground level, we have those east to northeasterly winds and that combination produces this. An onshore flow with clouds coming on in. Sure, its warm up above, but down below, it is keel, and that cool air settling on in here morning, into the middle of the day tomorrow, even a few heftier showers in southeastern massachusetts and through dinnertime tomorrow evening. But theres more. Hourbyhour in worcester, staying cloudy. Temperatures in the 50s with some drizzle or showers during the morning. No heavy rain, but some drizzle and pesky rain really. Staying in the low 60s tonight in boston, with those rainshowers and drizzle moving in, in the morning. Cape cod, same idea for you. Drizzle, perhaps a little heavier shower for you in some spots during the morning. It will be breezy from the northeast your lunchtime temperatures, only near 60 degrees into the 60s in southeastern mass. Matching your water temperatures essentially with that northeast wind. Stuck in it through thursday morning, same idea. Watch how far the dry air sinks southward into western panned northwestern new england. Even trying to get into worcester county. Its possible, its really going to depend on where that spin to our west actually sets up shop. And the latest information has it a little mattresses to the west, which would be good for swings the next front toward us, the more substantial rain is potentially in the offing as well. And were zeroing in on friday night into saturday morning for that potential and you see it here. We have it at 40 chance. We have to see where that thing sets up before we can raise those chances, but friday night to saturday, we get a good soaking around here and then the whole system will start to spin out of gas. By this weekend and into early next weekend, thats when we return to sunshine. Updated time 10 00 p. M. Tom leyden live outside the bronx. David price is on the hill.
