We start this morning with an extremely disturbing case. The Pinellas County mother is expected to be in court this afternoon to face charges after her 6yearold son beat his newborn sister to death. This is where investigators say a mother left her three children locked inside of a hot van while she went in to this Cell Phone Store to run an errand for nearly 40 minutes. That mother is now facing an aggravatedanslaughter charge today. The Pinellas County sheriff says 62yearold Kathleen Steele left her ds, a 6year old, 3yearold, and 13 day old infant all locked in the hot van without air conditioning. The infant, baby kathleen, started crying uncontrollably. Investigators say 6yearold frankie lost his temper and beat the babys face, hitting her against the ground and ceiling of the van. The 6yearold removed baby began flipping her multiple times back and forth. He said he slammed the baby and kept slamming her. Reporter when steele got back, 6yearold frankie told his mother the baby had been upset, but steele ignored him, and even ran another errand before heading back home. Thats when she realized something was wrong and called her neighbor, who is a nurse, instead of 911. Investigators say baby kathleen was already dead. Investigators say the 6year old wont be charged because of his age, but he did demonstrate what he had done to baby kathleen on a doll. Now, the 6yearold and 3year old are both with child protective services. Again, their mother will be in court at 1 30 this afternoon.
