Some areas, maybe the south shore, could see the mid 50s but it is a chilly start out there. Those winds out of the north and west keeping things cooler. Clear skies on satellite and radar. High pressure dominates. The winds clockwise. Thats why we have a northwest wind today anywhere from 510. Then were watching this area of rain down here. This is associated with the remnants of Hurricane Patricia. All of this moisture is whats headed in our direction. So as we go through the next couple of days, we are dry but we turn very wet on wednesday into early thursday. Were going to talk more about the timing and the winds associated with it. Even though the weather is good, you can see the heavy volume on the southeast expressway. Youre upwards of 20 minutes for that ride from braintree to boston. Lets see where the trouble spots are. The crash being reported on the southbound side of route 3 around treble cove road very heavily tied up back at 495. That will get worse beyond 495. Ride. Out there. 20 minutes for that commute. Were still working this scene on 24 northbound with the left lanes blocked before route 44. Its affecting route 140 and a big delay on 24 northbound for travelers there. Down to the south very slow on expressway. Even the top end of route 95 is a slow run. Back to you. Breaking overnight. A hitandrun driver. It happened on route 1 just after 11 00 last night. Witnesses say the man was hit by a mercedes, but the description of the car was vague. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, but his condition is not clear this morning. Also breaking at this hour the death toll is rising after a coast of canada. Tarantal is tracking new information as it comes in. Erika right now that death toll stands at five with one person still missing. How this tragedy happened is really a mystery as the conditions were clear and calm, but you can see here the boat just sunk. The crew made a mayday call late sunday about 12 miles off of tofino. Thats on canadas west coast and popular for whale watching. The Canadian Military and coast guard responded and were able to rescue 21 people using boats and helicopters. The boat that went down was described the largest in the area. Waters can get very rough, but they were not rough sunday. Witnesses saying the wind wasnt strong and the sun was out. Her family tells the globe that after she left the department in drugs. She was reportedly angry and acting out on saturday. And her uncle went to hyde park to calm her down. A dorchester man will face a judge today, following an attack on a woman in the fenway. Police say wayne barber tackled a woman early sunday morning in an alley off of park drive. He allegedly threatened to kill her with a knife. The victim was slashed but was able to get away. It happened on route 1 just after 11 00 last night. Witnesses say the man was hit by a mercedes, but the description of the car was vague. Matthew gallant was heading home from a night out with friends when he was struck head on by another driver who smashed into his pick up truck. Firefighters responded to the scene. They used the jaws of life to free gallant taking 30 minutes to pull him out. Suspect. He is now a wanted man. Emily caught on camera the dramatic rescue of a migrant toddler off the coast of turkey. A fisherman grabbed the 18monthold boy and sprung into action getting the water out of his lungs and stomach. The all clear was given just before midnight. The victim is expected to be okay. No word on any arrests. Longtime nba coach Flip Saunders has died of cancer. Saunders had won more than 650 games in nearly two decades of coaching. He was diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma in june and took a leave of absence from his team, the minnesota timberwolves, in september. He died sunday at the age of 60.
