Newscenter 5s diane cho is at the breaking news desk with the announcement from police and what we expect to see. Cnn and other news organizations have received the video from the Police Department but it is not cleared to use so we cant show you just yet. Protesters have been calling for the department to release the dash and body camera video in the shooting death since the shooting took place earlier this week. As of now we only have the video scotts wife released yesterday from her cell phone. Police yelled at scott to drop the gun. Later you hear gunshots. We are hearing from cnn that you do not see a gun that police claim scott was holding in the new videos. All residents have said scott was unarmed at the time. The police told reporters today that scott was absolutely in possession of a hundred dollar gun. He was absolutely in possession of a hand gun. There is no definitive, visual e you can see something in his hand. And that he pointed it at an officer. That i did not see individually. What we do see is compelling evidence that when you put all the pieces together it supports that. Today marks the fifth day of rallies in charlotte. The officer who shot scott has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues. That officer would not was not wearing a body camera at the time but other officers at the scene were. Right now a killer on the run in washington. An intense man hunt for the suspect who shot and killed five people inside a mall then disappeared. As they work to find him police are trying to figure out why he did it.
