Crews are out here, up on that ladder keeping an eye on the hot spots these are all residential buildings one of the structures has a store front church on the ground level the flames first began to spread around 10 00 tuesday night. Those massive flames quickly jumping from building to building. It took hundreds of firefighters about 3 hours to get a handle on the flames to get them under control just after 1 00 this morning the chief saying this all began at 4 27, dekalb avenue spread to the three buildings next door he says right now their chief concern is the possibility of the fire rekindling amid all of that smoldering debris. The winds died down day but still make it a challenge for us in all these conditions. Now the chief says in his last update 11 minor civilian injuries but dozens of people who are living in these apartment buildings here, they were displaced without a home this morning again right now crews are still out here on scene they anticipate theyll be out here for the remainder of the morning keeping an eye on those hot spots.
