Bandaged arm after wrestling the the gunman to the ground, foiling his attempt to rob a Jewelry Store during the height of the Christmas Shopping rush. I heard the shot near me. And i saw everybody trampling each other, running toward the parking lot. Reporter the alleged shooter seen here in handcuffs now facing multiple charges, accused of walking into the store in the mall announcing that he was going to rob the place. Thats when police say the Security Guard stepped in as he wrestled the gunman to the ground, the gun went off, striking a mall employee in the shoulder. We didnt know what was going on and we stayed in the back and the manager locked the door. Reporter panicked shoppers ran for cover. Some guy came running down the escalator and like, there was a shooting and everyone started running to the back of the severe as the Security Guard struggled to get hold of the gunman, an offduty nypd detain him, preventing the shooter from harming anyone else. Security person and detective walking in the store, what he did was remarkable. Reporter now suspects name so far has not been released. At this point, its not clear exactly when he will go before a judge or if anyone else was assisting him during that robbery attempt yesterday.
