Reporter video shows the man who police say is in his mid20s to mid30s lurking in the hallway of this building where he made his move in the third incident, entering through a front door where the lock was broken and following a 40yearold woman into an elevator and forced himself into her apartment where police say he raped her and stole her cellphone before running away. Shouldnt happen. The door should be fixed for nobody to come in. Reporter just after 6 30 a. M. , police say he followed a 33yearold woman into her building in Lower Manhattan and tried to the rape and rob her. She managed to fight him off. And then about an hour later, he did the same to a 24year old woman in the same neighborhood, grabbed her by the shoulders and stole her id card. She screamed and the suspect got away. Youre not safe no more. Families. Reporter now residentses here say that the third victim is hearing impaired so she likely never heard her attacker coming up behind her. The broken lock here on the door at the houses has since been fixed. And police asking anyone who recognizes the suspect to give them a call. Investigators spent most of the night combing the apartment for evidence because its unclear if the gunshot wound to the head was selfinflicted. A public advocate and City Council Members are backing a new measure that would require the department of sanitation to establish a program to help seniors and people with disabilities clear their sidewalk of snow. Man who police say is in his mid20s to mid30s lurking in the lobby of this building in the houses near the fdr drive thursday morning where he made his move in the third incident, entering through a front door where the lock was broken. Following a 40yearold woman into the elevator and forced himself into her apartment where police say he raped her and stole her cellphone before running away. Shouldnt happen. Like the door should be fixed so nobody can come in. Reporter just after 6 30 a. M. , police say he followed a 33yearold woman into her building in Lower Manhattan and tried to rape and rob her. She managed to fight him off. And then the about an hour later, he did the same to a 24 yearold woman in the same neighborhood, grabbed her by the shoulders and stole her id card. Reporter video shows the man who police say is in his mid20s to mid30s lurking in the lobby of this building in the houses near the fdr drive his move in the third incident, entering through a front door where the lock was broken, following a 40yearold woman into an elevator and forced himself into her apartment where police say he raped her and stole her cellphone before running away. Shouldnt happen. Like the door should be fixed so nobody can come in. Reporter earlier just after 6 30 a. M. , police say he followed a 33yearold woman into her building in Lower Manhattan and tried to rape and rob her. She managed to fight him off. Then about an hour later, he did the same to a 24yearold woman in the same neighborhood, grabbed her by the shoulders and stole her id card. She screamed and the suspect got away. Youre not safe no more, you know, so youre scared for your families. Reporter now as for the door with the broken lock here at the houses, she says that they take their residents safety seriously and they have since repaired the door.
