Are trying to pin point whether this was in fact a hate crime. In radio transmissions you hear the volunteer calling for help. Ive been stabbed. Reporter cellphone video showing the man soon after being tended to by fellow medics and an ambulance after the 34yearold says she was slashed from behind. Around 8 30 last night near Eastern Parkway and rogers avenue. He was screaming, ive been stabbed. Reporter the victim says the attacker was wearing black sweats and said nothing before slashing his right shoulder and then running from the scene. Police showed up a minute later and closed the scene, made a crime scene. Reporter and officers spent hours flooding the area late into the night, searching for evidence and the alleged attacker. And again this morning, officers just finished clearing the scene as this investigation continues. We should mention that the victim says he did not know his unprovoked and that they did not exchange any words before that man slashed him on his shoulder. The victim was treated at kings county hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery. Anyone with information is urged to contact the the nypd. Reporter hospitalized with slash marks to the tops of their heads are a 32yearold and 23yearold. Strangers now nursing similar wounds after the two were on a manhattanbound c train when a man attacked. Witnesses say the suspect did not say a word as he sliced ones head with a box cutter blade and as one tried to leave the area, the same suspect slashed him on the head. It was 3 00 p. M. And the train just pulled into the station in brooklyn. Kelly patton the boarded the train with her two kids. They were several cars back from the front where the screaming and bloodshed happened. Four or five minutes after sitting there, the dispatcher asked for a nurse or a doctor to come to the front of the train to help with the medical situation. I just came up here and took a car and there were cop cars and ambulances kind of swarming the scene here. And police were coming down at the same time we came up. Reporter she got her kids out of the way as police searched for the man and weapon. The suspect was arrested four blocks away on rockaway avenue near fulton street and a box cutter was found. The suspect is undergoing psychiatric evaluation. Police are investigating the death of a man found inside a Suffolk County office building. The body was found inside the office of the taxi company just before 7 00 a. M. Yesterday. Investigators still dont the know how he died but they say he was the victim of violence. He worked at the company. Funeral services will be held for one of the victims of the deadly halloween night car accident when a vehicle slammed into a group of trickor treaters. Developing this morning, police are searching for the man who attacked an off duty ambulance worker with a knife in brooklyn. Reporter yeah, chris, that victim actually told police that this attack was completely unprovoked, that no words were exchanged and that he Department Even know his attacker. Happening today, arraignment for a retired new York City Transit officer charged with murdering his wife. The 49yearold of lake grove was arrested last month. His wife, a 40yearold was found dead in their home. A Prosecutor Says he admitted hit his wife in the head with a baseball bat and strangling her. And another Court Appearance for the 30yearold son of a Millionaire Hedge Fund manager charged with his fathers murder. He is accused of shooting his father in january inside his fathers apartment. They were reportedly arguing over his allowance. Well delays are certainly nothing new for the 2nd avenue subway project. Reporter mayor de blasio is only the latest elected official to express dis appointment for the mtas latest plan. For many subway riders and east side resident, it seems like the ultimate neverending project, the 2nd avenue subway construction. Back in may, we got a tour of phase one set for completion next year. It extends from 96th street to 63rd street. But now the mta has announced a big decrease in funding for phase two which would exthe end up to 125th street, delaying completion of this portion until after 2019. I do think it came as a surprise to many people that there was a change in the funding and i think that has to be reconsidered to make sure that everything is being done to move phase two despite the challenges in and the complexities, to move phase two as quickly as it can be done. Reporter the latest Capital Program includes 535 million to start phase two, thats a reduction of 1 billion compared to the Previous Capital plan proposal. In a statement the mta chairman and ceo said, quote, this reflects the work we can realistically accomplish in the next four years given the constraints in a densely populated section of manhattan. He said, Governor Cuomo has made clear that he would like us to accelerate work and we are looking for ways to deliver the project faster. The mta has previously told us that estimated completion of phase two depends on funding the. Mayor recently increased the citys contribution to the latest capitol plan to a record 2. 5 billion. The state is contributing more than 8 billion. Well several elected officials as i mentioned are asking the mta for more funding including Congress Members. Yesterday they sent this letter to the mta asking for reassurances from them that they are not putting the 2nd avenue subway on the back burner. A queens drug suspect is under arrest and facing charges this morning but only after Police Conducted a house to house search. Yesterday afternoon, police swarmed a neighborhood looking for the suspect. He is accused of fleeing after struggling with the dea agent over his gun. But now the mta has announced a big decrease in funding for phase two which would extend up to 125th street, delaying completion of this portion until after 2019. I do think it came as a surprise to many people that there was a change in the fund and i think that has to be reconsidered to make sure that everything is being done to move phase two, despite the challenges and the complexity, to move phase two as quickly as it can be done. Reporter the latest capitol Program Includes 535 million to start phase two. Thats a reduction of 1 billion compared to the Previous Capital plan proposal. In a statement, the mta this reflects the work we can realic include accomplish in the next four years given the constraints on heavy construction in a densely populated section of manhattan. Three years after Superstorm Sandy hit, some residents say theyre still looking at storm damage. People in brooklyn say they are wrecked and or turned boats near their homes. In phase two, the 2nd avenue subway would run from 96th street here into harlem. For many subway riders and east side residents, it seems like the neverending project, the 2nd avenue subway construction. Back in may, we got a tour of phase one set for completion next year. It extends from 96th street to 63rd street. But now the the mta has announced a big decrease in funding for phase two which would exthe end up to the 125th street extend up to 15th street, delaying up to 125th street. I think it came as a surprise that there was a change in the funding and that has to be reconsidered to make sure that everything is being done to move phase two, despite the challenges and the complexity, to move phase two as quickly as it can be done. Reporter the latest Capital Program includes 535 million to the start phase two. Thats a reduction of 1 billion compared to the Previous Capital plan proposal. In a statement, the mta chairman and ceo said, quote, this reflects the work we can accomplish in the next four years given the regulatory and engineering constraints on heavy construction in a densely populated section of manhattan. He went on to say, quote, Governor Cuomo has made clear that he would like us to accelerate work on the 27 avenue subway and we are looking for on the 2nd avenue subway and we are looking for ways to deliver the project faster. The mta has previously told us that completion depends on funding. The mayor increased the citys contribution to a record 2. 5 billion. And the state is contributing sent this letter to the mta asking for reassurances from them that theyre not putting the 2nd avenue subway on the back burner. Witnesses say a bus making a turn hit the 70yearold carroll bell yesterday morning. Police say roper was heading back to the depot and did not stop. Bell died at the scene. An investigation has revealed that the officer actually died of a selfinflicted gunshot wound. The fox lake Police Officer radioed on september 1st that he was chasing three suspicious men on foot.
