His defense attorney argued that a juror had a bias against police leading to that guilty verdict. But the judge disagreed and now the verdict will stand. Attorneys for liang had argued that juror Michael Vargas lied about having a Family Member accused of a crime so he could get on the jury for liangs trial but it was later revealed that vargas father was convicted for accidentally shooting a friend to death. Vargas testified before the court for the last two days saying he didnt lie, that he did not hate police. The judge bluntly said he didnt feel the 67yearold was bright enough to lie his way on to a jury and then ruled the verdict will stand. Akai gurleys family says the judges ruling is a small victory. Liangs family says he will appeal the ruling. The protected aisles has been an unofficial seal sanctuary of sorts. Experts say seals are a staple of the great white diet so it could be an active great white shark season. Several hours after a crash left a trail of destruction, cbs 2s Tracee Carrasco reports from buns brunswick. Reporter traffic is starting to move but that serious accident involving four soldiers part of an Army Reserve Unit out of queens shut down the road. The wreckage on the turnpike, over near exit 8a. They tried to remove them from under the jeep. Four soldiers injured, dont know the extent of their you can see two medical helicopters landed on the turnpike. All of the victims are at Robert Wood Johnson university hospital. Drivers pulled over immediately and tried to help. We and a few other guys trying to see if we can lift this humvee up because there was actually two guys in the truck. It was upsidedown. Once the firefighters came, once fire trucks came from monroe township, they i dont know what they did but they used some brick or some type of wood i guess so they just lifted it up i guess a little bit. Reporter there was a 12 mile backup southbound on the turnpike. The car lanes opened about an hour ago. Even though all lanes are now back open, there are still delays.
