They say yesterday afternoon, two men knocked on the door of this woman who did not want to appear on camera. Speaking to cbs 2 in spanish, the 26yearold woman says the men claimed to be from con ed, and once she opened the door, they forced their way in grabbing her and covering her mouth and tied her to a table and hit her in the head and mouth. And both men wearing blue latex gloves. A knife from the kitchen, while the other used a cord to bound her to a coffee table. Then police say he sexually assaulted her. Her toddler daughter was nearby, and a neighbor heard the childs cries and called police. The men took 50, and ran off. To see a child, to see what has really happened to her mother, that is traumatizing. Reporter other neighbors were so frightened they didnt want to appear on camera either. But this woman who has lived here for 33 years says these scammers come around a lot. The evening, they come late evening. Like 6 00, 7 00 in the night. She says this attack is frightening. Some new information, following the near drowning of a little girl last month. The Health Department has shut down the pools at a popular queens spa. Since the incident, safety procedures at spa castle were reviewed by the city Health Accident and investigators found alterations were made to two pools, without the departments approval and inspection. The agency says the pools will stay closed until spa castle puts a revised safety plan in place that meets doh requirements. And an investigation is under way, after a new Jersey Transit train struck and killed an amtrak employee. The person was hit on the tracks just before 5 00 this morning. Reporter last summer, brian noticed the bird feeders in front of his apartment kept getting damage and taken down and the food scattered below with ground glass or gasoline. The neighbors say they noticed cans of cat food topped with white powder and odd substances strategically placed around the block and they noticed animals started dieing. Groups of birds dead on the ground. No reason whatsoever. In various locations. And then cats, just dead on the ground. Or any bruises, blood, nothing. Just dead. With his neighbors help, brian installed a motion activated camera aimed at the tree where the bird feeders hang, and it took months but finally saw what he was looking for, a plan with a long pole taking down the bird feeders and had a liquid under the tree. And they say it is antifreeze. They are shocked or scared because they dont know if the person acted alone or one of many. I am really upset. It is such a cliche to pick on somebody small and defenseless. I personally think theyre cowards and they have issues. Brian says he hopes that whoever is responsible for destroying the bird feeders and animals caught before more people are hurt. The stuff is on the ground and the sidewalk, and any dog can track it and eat it and any kid can eat. It it is a danger to everybody. Every living thing. Another emotional day of testimony from sportscaster erin andrews in her civil suit against a stalker and a tennessee hotel, suing a nashville marriott and the man who secretly videotaped her nude, for 7 75 million, the Stalker Michael Barrett admitted taping andrews through a hotel room peephole in 2008 and posting the video online. It has been seen nearly 17 million times. Andrews says she has been emotionally traumatized.
