Investigators say the suspect cedric ford was served a protection order just before he stormed into a factory outside wichita and opened fire on coworkers yesterday. Three people were killed, 15 more wounded before an officer gunned him down. Tonight that veteran officer is being called a hero. He had to stop that threat youve got two or three hundred people in there. And luckily, two or three hundred people came out. Police say ford was armed with an Assault Rifle and automatic handgun. Ford has been convicted for burglary, grand theft, fleeing from police and disorderly conduct. More bomb threat at local schools were all a hoax. Teaneck was one of the schools evacuated. High School Students were moved to a safe location while authorities searched the mahwah, bergenfield and waldwick also received telephone threats. The fbi is now investigating. A plan to change Airline Restrictions at the popular Westchester County airport has surrounding communities alarmed. Cbs 2s lou young with the story now from white plains. The planes come in right behind those trees across the street. Reporter like that, were on a residential street close enough to the Westchester County airport you can smell jet fuel in the air. But the airport could be getting a lot busier soon and has neighbors worried. The village of rye brook the airport is immediately to the north. Greenwich to the east. North castle further north and to the west, harrison and purchase. Reporter county executive change in restrictions airlines now operate under removing the current limit of 480 passengers an hour and replacing it with one daily cap to accommodate surges in traffic. We have an asset that we want to make sure that its used appropriately. Reporter the county says restrictions are so tight right now at this airport that one big jet can tie up the entire commercial side of the airport. They would like to be able to use all four gates at once if possible. Critics say thats a slippery slope. This could possibly turn into laguardia north and we dont want that. Reporter the mayor of rye brook has sent a letter to the county and neighboring towns expressing alarm that the process is bypassing the airports advisory board. Looking at the open spaces on the airport they say the fear of a laguardia type expansion is not unjustified. The airport is big enough to support the same number of runways and terminals. Contract talks wrapped up today between new Jersey Transit and Union Workers with no deal and there is worry these negotiations are going nowhere. Cbs 2s meg baker has more from newark penn station. Reporter this was the scene during the 1983 new Jersey Transit rail strike. Train commuters were bused into the city and to other transportation hubs. If they go on strike they are going to stop the trains . What if i have to go to work . Reporter the Union Representative is hopeful it wont come to that. He says its much better to be we are going back to friday. We are going to meet with the National Mediation board and hopefully they can push towards an agreement. Reporter the unions have been working since 2011 without a new contract. So what do they want . 6. 5year contract, somewhere around 18. 6 and a modest increase in healthcare. Reporter the union has set march 13 as their deadline. So many train and bus riders wondering if they should buy a monthly pass like this man who school. He is holding off buying a march pass for now. If i dont have attendance, they will, like, do something with my financial aid. Reporter despite riders concerns about getting their money back after superstorm sandy, new Jersey Transit is telling customers to go ahead and buy monthly passes. In a statement, it says, well have a plan in place to accommodate customers who have purchased tickets and passes. That plan could be to use buses like after sandy. Are worried that the strike will upset their commute with overcrowding. All the buses are packed now. They will be way packed jam packed. Its very difficult in the bus. It would take longer. The taxis are very expensive. Reporter more than 150,000 people commute daily on trains. Add that to the 280,000 who already take buses. Hold on to your hats. This could be a bumpy ride. The union says an increase in pay does not correlate to an increase in ticket prices and that new Jersey Transit should have accounted for raises in their budgets. We watched the rescue play out in front of our cameras and now we have new information on the coast guard saving 7 fishermen off the coast of queens. Now we are getting a closer look at the rescue operation. This is new coast guard video showing one man being hoisted into a helicopter yesterday after a fishing boat went inlet. All seven men were safely rescued. The initial rescue attempt went awry when a Coast Guard Boat capsized forcing all five rescuers on the boat to swim ashore. Everyone is okay.
