Ilana gold has Surveillance Video of the suspect. Reporter the nypd says this man is linked to a vicious attack at 7 45 wednesday night. He somehow got into this secure Apartment Building on east 131st street and madison avenue and walked right to the elevator as he carried a red bag. Seconds later you can see him wander through an upstairs hall way. Police say he hid in the stairwell on the fifth floor and followed a 60yearold woman into the garbage room and attacked her. This is the victims daughter. Im scared and not comfortable. Reporter she showed us the cuts and bruises on her mother. Police tell us the perpetrator grabbed this woman by the neck, threw her to the ground and banged her head on the floor. Then he ripped off her clothing, stripped off his clothing and tried to rape her. When she screamed for help her daughter ran over and interrupted the crime and she condition. My mom her nose and everything had blood and teeth broke. Reporter she said she didnt get a good look at the suspect when he took off. Cameras captured him leaving the building a short time later and the tenants are alarmed. So all that took place there and people sitting in the lobby he come out like nothing happened. Oh, my god. So today officers were back in this neighborhood and they put up these posters asking anyone to come forward with information. They think someone accidentally let him in. When people open the building, the doors to get in, they just walk in behind the other people and some people they just dont care. She was treated at the hospital for injuries. Her daughter says she is still traumatized. People on the Upper East Side have endured days of street closure, honking and traffic and some even forced from their apartments because of bricks falling from a high rise. This afternoon, new information from the Buildings Department on fixing it. Cbs 2s lou young is live on the Upper East Side with the latest. Reporter the Buildings Department still doesnt know whether its material or design defect that caused the rain of bricks here on first avenue monday night. But it has taken them four days to get their heads around how to end the precarious and dangerous problem up ahead and reopen first avenue here. They now have a plan. Lets start with the good news. Those people up on top of the building on first avenue are now removing the faulty brick facade by hand individually. Are you moving as fast as you can . Yes, we are. A Nassau County officer caught on camera repeatedly punching and kneeing a man he pulled over in westbury. Today that officer acquitted of assault charges. Cbs 2s Jennifer Mclogan explains why the judge said Excessive Force was justified. Reporter supporters of kyle howell stormed out of the clearly upset with the verdict clearing Nassau County Police Officer Vincent Logiudice of all charges in a case caught on camera that received national attention. We have a broken Justice System which is evident throughout this country. Not only in Nassau County with the case with my son kyle howell but throughout the United States of america. Reporter the judge ruled that during a 2014 traffic stop in westbury logiudice didnt use Excessive Force to subdue howell. The officers actions were reasonable and necessary because howell disobeyed orders to show his hands and instead reached across the front seat to empty the glove box of marijuana. A Furtive Movement that looked to the officer like howell was reaching for a weapon. Of course, this a very happy day for Police Officer logiudice. It should be a happy day for Nassau County because this Police Officer is a tremendous asset to the Nassau County Police Department as well as the citizens of Nassau County
