A man is shot while sitting in his car in philadelphias hunting park neighborhood. Matt delucia is live at Temple University hospital where the victim is being treated. Matt, what can you tell us about the shooting . Reporter the driver of the car is in Critical Condition here at temple hospital after being shot twice and then crashing his car a few minutes from here at the intersection of germantown avenue and pike street. The video here, early this morning about 2 30, nbc 10 first at the scene. Heavy damage to the car that crashed. We saw the man being taken away to the hospital. Police at the scene told me this man was shot sitting in his car about two miles away from the scene at green and mannheim. After he wals shot he drove down germantown avenue, lost control and crashed. He was conscious and talking with police after. Detectives are at the hospital waiting to interview the victim who is being treated. Right now he is in Critical Condition. So theres a possibility that the shooting may be narcotics related. Reporter here is the reason for that. They found 12 small bags of crack cocaine in the passenger seat of that car. So they are looking into that possibility of this being drug related. Also looking for witnesses who saw the car lose control and crash into that tractortrailer. Philadelphia Police Identified the suspect accused of hitting an officer with his car on monday night. Investigators say this man, maurice taylor, was behind the wheel and police are trying to find him. The officer was responding to a report, to reports of a person with a gun in grays ferry. Thats when taylor allegedly drove directly toward the officer. The officer hit the windshield of the car, broke his leg and suffered cuts to his head. Now to decision 2016. Philadelphia police tell me the 47yearold man was shot sitting in his car. Police had to use the jaws of life to pull him out after he lost control and crashed into a parked tractortrailer. 12 small bags of crack cocaine were in the passenger seat of the car so investigators are looking at this as a possible drugrelated shooting. That victim also tells us he was scratched by the man, Police Believe they have identified the person of interest in the attacks just blocks apart. Heres what detectives are working on, a man wearing the same person as the person in the video released by police was kicked out of a homeless shelter after punching a man. The victim who encountered the slasher near 21st and arch says he was scratched on the cheek but a Temple University student suffered injuries to his wrist and side while jogging. He says hes with attacked by a man with a blade at 23rd and walnut. That victim says the attacker shouted at him, then staped him with what appears to be a 3inch blade.
