Reading into northern berks county, Lehigh Valley, thats where were getting rainfall. In fact, moderate showers along allentown. This line of showers will not last all day. Should be fizzling later this morning. The clouds will be hanging in there for areas north and west. Heres your neighborhood by neighborhood forecast. Cloudy skies to start with in philadelphia. Should be dry by lunch time. 61 and 64 degrees. A chance of lateday sunshine in philadelphia. For the suburbs, mainly cloudy. Those isolated showers this morning, 52, 57 degrees by lunch time. In the Lehigh Valley, a bit of rain to start with but it doesnt last. By lunch time were looking at cloudy skies. Those clouds will persist into the afternoon hours. For delaware, well start off with clouds. By lunch time, 60 degrees and breaks of sunshine this afternoon. Those breaks ofc sunshine are even more likely in new jersey by 4 00 this afternoon, 64 degrees. At the shore, winds are still coming in off the ocean. Those are northeasterly winds. Those will be light, just enough to keep temperatures cooler. Sunshine this afternoon, shore up to 59 degrees at noontime today. Thats today. Theres more wet weather on the horizon, though. Earlier we had more construction crews on site. Maybe it looks like this guy is starting to move out of the way. One lane was getting by headed westbound past this scene and more lanes lost on shoulder as well on to the off ramp. Still something to watch out for. Theres a vehicle fire in abington and old york road and bader road. Watch out for that. The pa turnpike looks okay. Were still in the green, no big problems or delays, westbound or eastbound. A Delaware County mom is worried to are her daughters safety when she gets dropped off at day care by the school bus. This is a story youll see only on nbc 10. I see the driver get out. This is video Michelle Gonzalez shot on her cell phone on monday. She claims the School Bus Driver is not following safety procedures when dropping off her 7yearold daughter who is hearing impaired. Michelle says her daughter is supposed to have an adult aide on board with the driver. She says thats not happening and after the bus stopped, there were no flashing lights, no stop sign, no stop arm. The hazard lights are the only ones in use. As a parent, how do you see this . I see it as a possibility of my child going to get hit and killed one day. A supervisor with the southeast Delaware CountySchool District tells us he believes the driver is following the correct procedure. A spokesperson says district administrators will look into the complaint. We have new information about possible budget cuts in the brandywine School District. Yesterday, voters approved a referendum that will increase taxes. With that decision, the district wont have the to cut 8 million from its budget. Teaching jobs will be saved as will School Sports and activities that were on the chopping block. Also new this morning, a Montgomery CountyPolice Department is warning people to stay away from a bear. Another bear. Heres a picture of the bear. Estimated to be about 2 years old. Someone saw this bear in franconia township around noon yesterday. The Game Commission tried to tranquilize it but was unsuccessful. The bear was last seen near souderton area high school. If you see the bear, call 911. There have been no new sightings of the bear near wissahickon creek. A bear was spotted in Penn Oaks Golf Club over the weekend but the pa Game Commission says theyre not sure if its the same bear or multiple bears. 5 38 right now. Happening today in washington, Congress Takes up a bill that could cut Free School Lunches for millions. Nearly 200,000 students total in pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware could lose access to the Free School Lunch if the plan is passed. Its part of a bill that would reauthorize the school lunch and child nutrition acts. Schools can offer free lunches to all students if at least 40 of their students automatically qualify for assistants. This bill raises the threshold to 60 . We should see some breaks of sunshine for parts of the area this afternoon. Easton is most likely to stay cloudy. This is a live view. There are rain drops in the area. Those rain showers are moving through Lancaster County, upper Lancaster County into berks and Lancaster County. Theres dry air that pushes into the area. That will hold most of that at bay today. Even though its cloudy in philadelphia, we should see breaks of sunshine into the 60s this afternoon. For the suburbs, a cloudy one. Mostly cloudy skies, might see lateday breaks in the clouds. 60 degrees at lunch time, 62 degrees at 2 00 this afternoon. For the Lehigh Valley, yes, a cloudy start, a few showers are in the area first thing this morning and then mostly cloudy for the balance of the day. 62 degrees by 2 00 and just a degree warmer at 4 00 this afternoon. To the south, south jersey, heres where youre more likely to get breaks in the clouds and see the temperatures into the 60s by lunch time. Middle 60s, a few spots might go warmer into the upper 60s in interior new jersey. At the shore, even with sunshine breaking through, the clouds will still be blowing through with the northeasterly wind. That will keep temperatures cooler. Those northeasterly winds coming in off of the ocean. For delaware, a cloudy start. It is dry in delaware and with sunshine a possibility at times this afternoon, a little bit of a breeze out of the northeast at 9 miles an hour. At lunch time, 59 degrees and into the low 60s. Thunderstorms can be particularly challenging because of the high winds that sometimes come in with those. I have to worry about my crew more than anything else. Those guys and ladies have to get out there and push that tarp on the field if theres a delay during the ball game. A lot of times, if you have Straight Line winds, it can catch the tarp and have it act like a giant sail. We watch very carefully what the weather is doing. The measure focuses on education, treatment and support for addicts and their families. Meanwhile, the Pennsylvania Medical Society wants to help doctors help patience who abuse pain killers. Yesterday, the Group Recommended steps doctors can take, including prescribing guidelines. One of the doctors in the group said 80 of heroin addicts have abused prescription opioids. Honor and opioid overdoses are the states leading cause of citizenal death. Governor wolf was in Cumberland County to promote availability of the drug in pharmacies across the state. Wolf and physician general dr. Rachel levine visited a pharmacy in lemoyne. It is a medication that could literally save someones life if their loved one, friend or loved one administers this medication when theyre overdosing, which gives them an opportunity to get the help that they need.
