No decision so far this morning from Governor Tom Wolf on a budget dilemma. Pennsylvania has been without a budget for almost six months. The governors two choices at this hour, either accept and sign the budget he believes is inadequate and falls short or veto it and extend the budget stalemate even longer. In a lastminute vote ahead of the christmas holiday, the governor was presented with a gopsupport budget plan. It contains about 500 million less than he had wanted. It is slimmed down with no talk of pension or liquor reform and no major tax increases. Plus significantly less spending on education than the governor had wanted. But republicans and the General Assembly say it is time to pass something, even if its not perfect for everybody. Its time for us all to admit we need to take things off the table. We can take pensions off the table. We can take liquor off the table. I certainly think we should take an income tax and a sales tax increase off the table and pass a budget thats realistic that can get 102 votes in the house, 26 in the senate, get the governor to sign it the governor wanted much more spending on education. Restoring cuts made during the recession and paid for by some tax hikes. The governor had said he would not make a decision before today. Talk about a holy heist. We think he has the loyalty of chewbacca. So how old is chewy . He is about 6 years old. He came in as a stray so we are not totally sure, but our vets think he is about 6. He is just beautiful there. And so he is looking for a good home. Mmhmm. So, tell us about some of the you have got incentives, not just for chewy but for other animals that you have as well. Tell us what you are offering. Every day, a different type of animal is going to have a special. So, large dogs are today. Um, so if you need an exercise buddy, they are perfect to help, you know, motivate to you run. Foster pets are free on tuesday yeah, on tuesday. What else . The kind of thing you are looking for, take a look at your calendar and see what would be the best die come in where you could get a pretty good deal. You got it. Yep. You know, families thinking about adopting a pet, we often hear about just being careful over the holidays, things getting lost in christmas, now you can kind of take your time and really think about who would be best for your family. What are some of the things that you want to think about before you make that decision . Um, definitely want to think about how much time you have to commit to a pet, cats require a lot less time than lets say a puppy. So, you know, being realistic i think is important. Where are you going, bud . Trying to sneak away. Very excited. You know, also, want to think about what you know, if you have small children in the family, you want to get a pet that is going to be comfortable being around that small child. Would you recommend that children come in with you . Definitely. Interact with the animals a little bit and see really where theres a Good Chemistry . Yep. Yeah. And also if you have dogs the home, you can bring them in as well. Okay. To meet any potential new dog youre going to bring into the home. You know, there are animal lovers out there who maybe cant have an animal in their home, but you do have some options for them as well, right, if they want to help . Oh, yeah, definitely, volunteering is huge. You know, you can come in and help walk the dogs chewy is very excited. Cats like chewy some attention. You know, you can donate, you can foster, if maybe you can have a pet temporarily but not for a long period of time, we have a large Foster Network of volunteers who help us save thousands of lives every year, so, theres tons of things you can do to help out, other than adopting. But adopting is certainly an option. Yes. And chewy is hoping that you will choose him. Yeah, he is purring up a storm. All right. Good. Im glad thats happy. Thank you so much, ame, for joining us. Appreciate it. Well, today, we stay nice and dry, it will be cloudy, it will be breezy and a little bit colder too, but by tonight, that is when we have some precip moving in, part of the area, we will see a wintry mix, so, north and westerly Lehigh Valley and poconos, where we expect sleet, freezing rain and possibly around an inch of snow. So, these areas you will not be wanting to drive when this event occurs but most will be overnight tonight, kind of a messy commute. As we go into tuesday, rain most of the area with the exception of those spots north and west, so, a rainey morning commute for most of us tomorrow morning. The mean time, the rest of today, we stay cloudy and breezy, temperatures by noon recall the mid40s, even 3 p. M. By 6 00, right around 43 degrees and staying breezy. So, cooler today than what we had over the weekend. Here is that big storm system in the middle of the country, snow and there you see the pink showing us that wintry mix with a lot of rain moving in with this, too. So, it is moving in our direction and we will see it, i think mostly overnight tonight, starting to move in. Today, we are just going to keep the clouds around, it will be a cloudy day and then late tonight, thats when we see that wintry mix move in. Now, the areas with the Winter Weather advisory, that is the poconos and the Lehigh Valley. This will be in place, 7 p. M. Tonight through 7 a. M. Tomorrow morning, i think a majority of the this will be moving in overnight, but within this timeframe, we expect those temperatures to drop down enough to support some sleet, freezing rain or possibly that snow and then we could see that transition back to rain right around the morning commute hours. So, heres future weather today, just cloudy and dry and then late tonight, right around midnight, we are starting to see a lot of this move in. Heres 2 00 in the morning. There you see the pinkshade aired ya north and west, that would be that wintry mix, the freezing rain, sleet or snow, temperatures here at or below freezing but again, the overnight hours, many of you will be sleeping, however, you dont want to really be traveling, this is going to cause some pretty hazardous travel, especially since we really havent seen this so far. But quickly, the temperatures start to warm up in time for the morning commute tomorrow, 6 a. M. , the model here been pretty consistent with showing that rain moving up to the north toward the poconos, by 6 00, those temperatures warming above freezing, at that time, the poconos could still support wintry mix, the rest of us though those temperatures keep on warming and we keep on seeing rain. So, now heres 9 00, tuesday morning, some heavy rain around, temperatures in the 50s possibly, so, we are going to see a messy morning commute but only a small portion of the area seeing that wintry mix. By 2 00 tuesday afternoon, we should really start to be clearing out of the rain and we keep doing that as we go through the roast of the week. For today though, we stay mostly cloudy, temperatures colder, 43 to 46 degrees, it will stay breezy and overnight tonight, when we start to see that precip move in. Tuesday, the mix will be north and west, rain elsewhere, mostly for the first half of the day, temperatures warming to around 57 degrees, 50s for wednesday and thursday, going into 2016, it is going to get colder, 42 for friday, low 40s over the weekend.
