Reporter there is a High Surf Advisory now effect but it is beautiful meaning a lot more people will be at the coast over the weekend. The waves have receded with the tides but large west swells have moved on to the coast. They have been building and they will continue to build through the weekend. We dont see any surfers out there now but we did speak with one who just got out of the water about an hour ago. Its a good size. Its more exciting. Reporter the high surf is impacting the california coast from big sur to sonoma county. The waves are expected to reach about 15 feet or higher. They will be fastmoving and fourful enough to wash people from rocks and jetties and in addition to the huge waves there will be sneaker waves and strong riptides for anyone who ventures into the water so beware if you are coming out to watch the waves, which we saw several people doing
All good to go. There are 75 cases of the measles in six states most here in california. Those infected in california range in age from 7 months to 70 years old. Most had not been vaccinated for the measles. 17 of those cases are not connected to disneyland. New this morning a warning to bay area children and parents about the measles. Schools in Santa Clara County are sending out letters today to let parents know about the measles and tell them what precautions to take. Two cases of measles have been diagnosed at a Kaiser Hospital in oakland this month. Kpix 5s Christin Ayers reports, more than 30 children are in isolation because of the outbreak.
