A truck slammed into their house and sparked a raging fire around 4 30 this morning in pennsville where cydney long is live this afternoon with the couples story and new information about the man behind the wheel. Reporter i can tell you police say this driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and while not intoxicated they found drugs in the car, he hit a car, shoving it down hook road before landing in the living room of this home. You can see restoration crews still sealing it up but its what the driver did next that might surprise you. It was like total chaos, i mean, the flames were flying. Kathy walters awoke to the sound of an explosion, a truck in her living room and her home on fire. This as Police Dash Cam footage captured the moment as Emergency Responders drove up to the scene. The driver had struck a gas line in the front yard. A neighbor was awake and grabbed his cell phone to capture the flames shooting through the roof. As soon as the truck hit the car start burning first, then the house, the wall start with the flame. My husband woke me and saved my life. We heard an explosion out front, a car ran into our house, and the house caught on fire instantly. And we barely got out. Reporter her husband is a fireman. It was his department that responded. Both hank walters and rodriguez say they watched as the driver, this man, 31yearold Joshua Fisher of pennsville, grab a garden hose to stop his pickup truck from burning. Police say fisher passed a dwi test but they found pot in the truck and he is charged with reckless driving and tampering with an investigation for lying to police. He originally told us that he wasnt driving and we were able to determine through video he was. The home is destroyed. Were very lucky. Reporter the home we can tell you is hank walters childhood home. He lived here for some 50 years. His wife says his actions for a true testament of his love by guiding her to safety. The two women in that other vehicle luckily were not injured. Live in pennsville, cydney long, nbc 10 news. Take a look at these flames we saw from sky force 10 this morning in west philadelphia. The rowhouse caught fire near 53rd and race streets, two people were hurt including a firefighter who was burned on his foot. Both are expected to be okay. A man who told police a toddler in his care choked on a hot dog is charged with killing her. That 17monthold died over a year ago, at a mobile home in walnut port lee high township after she fractured her skull. Gary foley jr. Is charged with homicide. He and the childs mother, 27yearold heather, also face child endangerment charges, they were living with three other children in a home authorities call deed plorable. We vus have a lot of irresponsible folks out there that you know, have baby after baby but they cant take care of their kids and end up in the custody of us and here we are prosecuting the parents. Its just terrible. And the police chief says there were indications that at least one of the other children in that home had also been abused. In the last 90 minutes nbc 10 obtained this new video that shows police evacuating a crowded septa bus as they closed in on a man. The man sleeping in the back is a suspect wanted for shooting a teenage fast food employee. Nbc 10s Deanna Durante is live outside of septa headquarters in center city. Walk us through this new video. Reporter its a case where the chief of police for septa says officers did everything right including evacuating a crowded bus, one packed with commuters heading to work. The wanted man is a suspect in an attempted murder last sunday at a churchs chicken on north broad street. They didnt know if the man would be armed aboard the bus. Body camera video shows the officer telling passengers off the bus. No one questioned him. Security cameras from the bus and the body camera images show arlin and another officer approach the man and once surrounded they wake him up. Inform him he is on camera and ask his name. You hear the man give a fake name and Police Continue to question him. They pat him down, search and bring him outside where other officers are waiting to identify him. What happens in a critical moment, officer makes a decision, he is approaching an attempt murder suspect who may very well be armed and may well be willing to shoot it out and that officer is quickly and quietly telling people get off, in a way that you saw nobody stopped to say is there going to be running in five minutes, everybody got off right away. Reporter investigators do say they did not find a weapon on graham. Ronald graham whoed also used the name Roland Graham was arrested and charged with attempted murder. A 19yearold fast food worker was shot last sunday at a churchs chicken on broad street. Police say that shooting followed an argument over how tables were being cleaned near where graham was eating. A close call for a School Bus Driver caught in the collapse of part of this building here in center city. Debris raining down on the drivers bus, shattering glass, the tree and lamp post lanted on top of the bus. After concrete columns gave way. Part of that concrete floor fell from the building. This is the old chocolate factory. The city says workers had all the proper permits and a collapse zone was set up properly but the building debris landed in the zone but that debris pushed other items on the bus. Now to new information about an execution style triple murder from two years ago. Prosecutors tell us they have solved the case. Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams announced that hes charging quadear jeffreys with three counts of murder from a killing in 2014. All three victims were shot in a house on martins mill road. The suspect is already in jail for a Home Invasion that happened just weeks before the killing. Investigators say the fired cartridge case at that location matched the cases at the triple murder scene. Secretary of state john kerry says isis is committing genocide against christians and other minorities in syria and iraq, he says part of the u. S. Response must be to destroy isis by force. There have been showers around. Visibility generally pretty good. And it will stay pretty good as we go through the night. Were tracking showers, over the next few hours, we do have much colder air coming in over the weekend. And of course, the snow on sunday that looks like its going to be significant enough to be called a snowstorm. At least for a good bit of the area. We have mostly cloudy skies right now. Its 55 degrees, the Philadelphia International airport reporting a shower right now. And the wind is calm. Two hours ago we had a gust of 39 miles per hour. Pretty weird day here, the visibility is good though. Temperatures generally in the 50s but its 60 in bensalem, 62 in trenton. Weve gotten up to 63 in philadelphia already. 60 in wilmington. Look at 66 in millville, atlantic city, 67 degrees in dover. And here we are talking about snow in three days. Well, its a lot colder than it was 24 hours ago, at least in a good portion of the area. And that trend is going to be felt over the weekend. Tomorrow not that cold but saturday a high of 47, sunday, lowered the high to 37 degrees. You can see these showers racing from west to east. We dont see the fellows and reads in there indicating the thunderstorms so at least so far we have not seen thunderstorms develop a moderate shower moving into central bucks county. You can see many more showers back to the west. Its all fueled by the instability related to the heating of temperatures getting into the 60s. So as soon as the sun goes down these showers should be falling apart. You can see that on futurecast through the night tonight. Another night its not very chilly out there. And by tomorrow morning were in the 40s. Not bad at all. Going to be windy tomorrow. And there could be a couple of showers developing during the afternoon. Temperatures get in the 60s. Then the 20s and 30s start returning over the weekend. And we see a noreaster developing. There is no doubt about that that its going to develop. It looks like its going to be close enough for precipitation. We just have some of these Details Remain to be seen. Of course, partly related to the temperature. It looks like accumulating snow in this area of blue likely from late sunday and sunday night, the darker blue indicating potential for heavier snow, and up in new england, really going to get smashed with this thing. This is a fairly significant thing here. Now, the chance of four inches or more. A little too early to talk about specific amounts for specific areas. I want to give you an idea of the chances of thats a pretty significant snowstorm. Four inches or more. Low, then in south jersey maybe too warm, may be too much rain. Medium chance across much of delaware and south jersey and philadelphia, the only reason for that is because there may be some melting going on and a little bit of rain during the daytime hours. Plenty of precipitation. And the chance is high, north and west, a high chance of at least four inches of snow. Now, the other concerns possible, coastal flooding. The weight of the snow could affect trees and power lines and the worst looks like its going to be after dark on sunday. So, tonight partly cloudy, 48 degrees for the low. And during the day tomorrow, a chance of a shower, sevenday forecast saturday its colder, theres that winter storm on sunday. Snow north and west. Hard to believe today when weve got temperatures in the 50s, glenn. Yeah, weve had temperatures, remember, in the 80s last week, weve gotten into the 70s this week and yeah, were talking about snow over the weekend. Kind of ominous skies now of it we have some rain showers around, certainly no threat of snow in the next 24 hours but as we head to sunday there is going to be a noreaster developing along the east coast, its going to be pushing in plenty of moisture, should be cold enough for snow for at least a good bit of the storm. And that means a pretty good chance of accumulation as we go into sunday night. So, the headlines with that storm, i expect it to mix with rain during the daytime hours especially in philadelphia and points south and east, delaware and south jersey. That limits the snow accumulation somewhat, but theres still uncertainty related to how much of that is going to be rain. It looks like its going to be all snow north and west that could cause some to pile up with a significant accumulation likely by the time its all over. You can see on the radar, fast moving, generally smaller shower, one heavier one going through central bucks county now of it youve got some pretty strong wind gusts because they are moving so fast themselves. As we go through the next several hours, we do expect those showers to be moving out and the temperature not all that chilly. The wind will be diminishing, and again, hard to believe that were talking about snow with temperatures like that at night. A pickup truck slammed into this house in salem county this morn, set the place on fire while the homeowners were sleeping. They managed to escape the flames around 4 30 this morning. Police say the driver hit a car before jumping the curb, losing control and landing right in the living room. The driver is charged with reckless driving and tampering with an investigation for initially lying to police. We have new video showing the arrest of a man accused of shooting an employee at a churchs chicken. That person is in custody now, septa police found Ronald Graham asleep on a septa bus. He is charged with attempted murder. Police say graham shot the 19yearold after an argument about cleaning tables while he ate. A School Board Meeting is expected to draw hundreds upset about the possible closing of evans elementary but police suggested a solution that could keep the school open and keep kids safe. The Police Department tells us they will pay to keep resource officers in eight schools next year. Right now the district and township split the half Million Dollar cost. If the district does not have to pay for policing it might be able to keep elementary open. Its 59 in allentown. It was raining in quakertown, thats why the temperature got knocked down. Its 67 degrees in dover, 64 in woodbine, new jersey. You can see these showers racing from west to east, the heaviest one right in the middle of bucks county, just went past warrington and there is a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for another few minutes for a good portion of bucks county. Briefly gusty winds with this right now. As you can see generally lighter showers elsewhere across the area. And theres more back to the west. So its fairly wet pattern. And as we go through the next few hours were going to see those showers disappear. This is then going to appear as we head toward the weekend. A coastal storm, a noreaster, close enough to provide precipitation in these blue colors, those are indicating snow amounts in general. So accumulation of snow is likely, sunday and into sunday night. And as far as the timing is concerned, 6 00 a. M. To 10 00 a. M. , the snow starts, looks like it will be melting at the beginning, 10 00 a. M. To 6 p. M. , a mix of snow and rain, south, but snow north and west. Then it accumulates the most after 6 00 as it gets dark. Showers and thunderstorms early, then clearing, 44 degrees for the low tonight. Then tomorrow a mix of sun and clouds, windy, kind of warm, into the low 60s. But gusts to 35 miles an hour. Then on saturday theres a cold but dry day, and then sunday is a cold and not dry day.
