This morning theyre in the teens in the mountains. Radars completely dry this morning. We may see a few sprinkles at times during the day today along the coastline, but thats not the heavy rain that were expecting for tomorrow. No. The snow is going to be falling as this storm system pulls away. Now, tomorrow mainly its just rain, but the pocono mountains by 11 00 tomorrow night could be seeing the first accumulating snowfall, just an inch, but it will keep going and we could see 4 inches on the ground by noontime on wednesday and possibly even an inch in the philadelphia area north and west. Its more likely. The temperatures are going to be a little bit on the warm side. This computer model is showing an inch in philadelphia, but it may be a mix of rain and snow. So, an inch is going to be difficult to get to with this storm system. Tomorrow will be a rainy one, just rain. 45 degrees with the exception of the pocono mountains, which will see the temperatures come down. It will be a mix of scattered, light rain and snow showers on wednesday and into thursday. But look at the temperatures, right around the 40degree mark both wednesday and thursday. Our First Alert Team is tracking this storm. Well have an update, as i just said, in a few minutes. At 6 25, taking a look at your roads, this is interstate 95 northbound approaching cottman avenue. You can see in the righthand lane there theres a disabled vehicle blocking the right lane, adding to the delay in that area. On the southbound side, check out your drive time, 21 minutes from woodhaven road to the vine street expressway. But the roads are clear at this hour. No wet roads, no major problems weatherwise out there. Looking pretty good, but that could soon change, right, bill . Yeah, the rain will be heavy at times tomorrow. This morning it is a dry view from the comcast center, but it is cold outside. Right now the temperatures have dropped into the 20s, but with the wind blowing, 28 degrees in philadelphia feels like just 17 degrees. Notice no rainfall today. That changes tonight. Got the hourbyhour forecast when i come back in less than ten minutes. First, Christine Maddela is tracking traffic. Good morning, christine. Good morning to you, bill. We have another accident to tell you about, this in Montgomery County, route 422. This is on the westbound side near trooper road. Theres a help truck out here. This is blocking the right lane, so everyones just getting by on the lefthand side. This is causing a delay out here. And at this time of morning, were seeing a lot of delays, just because it is the morning rush. 95 southbound at cottman avenue in that longterm construction project. You can see those folks tapping the brakes right there. The 42 freeway on the northbound side. Again, this is typical approaching interstate 295. So, lets kecheck on your drive times. 95 southbound, 25 minutes from woodhaven road to the vine street expressway. The 42 freeway, nine minutes from 544 to the walt whitman. And the schuylkill expressway still in the clear there, so that is the good news. Septa sent out this tweet not long ago. Chestnut hill west train 812 experiencing delays up to 15 minutes due to equipment problems. Rosemary . Thanks, christine. Crews in philadelphia finally have the upper hand on an Apartment Fire in the frankford section of the city. The blaze broke out around 1 00 this morning and took firefighters several hours to get the flames under control. Nbc 10s jesse gary is live at the scene. And jesse, as the crews move out, there appears to be another problem there. Tell us about it. Reporter there is, rosemary. That second problem. Before that, though, breaking and new information right now. The fires that they had tapped out, those flames, theyve started to kick back up again, and you can see right in the Center Portion of the roof, you see the black smoke, which is an indication that its burning pretty good, and also that orange glow. That just started within the past 90 seconds or so, rosemary. So, thats the problem that theyre facing right now is trying to tap out the flames once again. And once they do that, theyve been using a lot of water out here and all that water is starting to ice streets. So, city salt trucks are being called in once the Fire Department is gone. Theyre going to salt the streets to make sure its safe for the rush hour commute. Meanwhile, investigators still have to get into the interior of this threestory, abandoned Apartment Building. They want to make sure that the squatter that some of the local residents say theyve seen coming and going made it out alive. So, the hardest part for them, twofold. A, finally tapping out these flames completely, which you see they havent done, and also, b, the weather. It is freezing up. I mean, its not bitterly cold, but its enough to make it difficult for us. Reporter and again, the flames have kicked back up. Were going to continue to watch them and give you an update on how theyre doing coming up in about 25 minutes or so. Were live in frankford this morning, jesse gary, nbc 10 news. And we continue to follow breaking news in Burlington County this morning. Police are investigating a murder there. Reporter well, vai, i know that police in two cities are part of this investigation, maple shade, new jersey, which is where we are right now, outside a motel off of route 38, and also philadelphia homicide detectives. Now, the officers investigating for much of the morning blocked our view to a white, fourdoor sedan that appears to be the focus of this case, at least on the new jersey side. It was parked here at the quality inn in maple shade. Philadelphia police will not tell me this morning why they are involved in this case, just that they are part of the investigation. We do know that a body was found yesterday. That was confirmed to me by police in maple shade. Then overnight, detectives went door to door inside this new jersey motel, asking guests if they saw or heard anything unusual. Now, in the last five minutes, Maple Shade Police have taken down all of the crime scene tape that was blocking off this parking lot to our use and also to guests use. I did talk to one guest who was not able to access his car, and for that reason, he was going to be late to work. Im told that the Burlington CountyProsecutors Office in the next few hours will be releasing more information about this case. Ive reached out to them. I will do so in the next few minutes and have an update for you just before the 7 00 hour. Reporting live in maple shade, katy zachry, nbc 10 news.
