Its been more than 48 hours since cameras captured her abduction, and this Morning Police are looking for the man seen in the video that was taken just moments after carleshas atm card was used at a maryland gas station. That gas station is in aberdeen, maryland, which is about halfway between philadelphia, where carlesha was abducted, and california, maryland, where she grew up. We first broke this story monday morning. Weve been digging for new information in the search ever since. Nbc 10s katy zachry is live at Police Headquarters with more on this now multistate search. Katy . Reporter thats right, tracy. Minutes ago, i spoke with northwest detectives who are waiting for information from investigators in maryland. While they still dont know where this 22yearold nursing aide is, this morning they have new video of her being abducted and new pictures of a person of interest. Carlesha freelandgaither was last seen on a philadelphia Street Corner walking home sunday night. Here is video of the moment before she was abducted. It shows the suspect approach her. Look closely and you see him reach out for her hand, but when the victim tries to get around him, he lunges and grabs her. Another camera picks up the pair struggling down the block. Then freelandgaither is forced into the suspects car and driven off. Hours after the abduction, the victims bank card was used in aberdeen, maryland. A source close to the investigation says the man who used it took out cash. Some time later in that same shopping center, a man matching the description appears inside a gas station convenience store. He purposefully walks to the back of the store, grabs a bottle of water, pays and leaves, all under a minute. Tuesday night, federal investigators dusted for fingerprints inside that convenience store. And carleshas family tell us she was raised in california, maryland. They wonder if her abductor is a former boyfriend. We asked police about that. They are not commenting. Coming up in the next half hour, youll hear more from carleshas family about her disappearance. Democrat tom wolf will be the new governor of pennsylvania. He defeated incumbent republican tom corbett by a doubledigit margin. And there he goes, the governorelect driving his jeep into a Victory Party in york last night. That jeep, of course, was featured in wolfs political ads during the campaign. In his victory speech, wolf said his administration will not be politics as usual. Our ancestors realized that education was the key to a strong citizenship to a strong democracy, to a strong economy, to strong families. We needed to invest in that. We need to make sure that we resurrect that idea here in pennsylvania and make sure that education is at the top of the list, not the bottom. Now, before wolf spoke last night, governor tom corbett gave his concession speech. Nbc 10s keith jones is joining us live from corbett headquarters in pittsburgh. Keith, you covered the governors victory four years ago, a much different mood this morning, im sure. Reporter ill tell you what, chris, it was an emotional speech last night, and history was made. Governor corbett becomes the first pennsylvania governor to fail to win reelection since 1968. Thats when the state allowed twoterm governors. Supporters applaud, the former governor enters after a doubledigit deficit in polls proved insurmountable. Corbett and his wife, susan, thanking democratic challenger and governorelect tom wolf. The former twoterm state attorney general congratulated his opponent over the phone, then listed his accomplishments, including more support for people with disabilities. Heres what else is happening today. In norristown, closing arguments begin in the civil trial of former professor turned wifekiller rafael robb. The family of robbs murdered wife filed a lawsuit, claiming robb has been hiding millions in assets. They want that money to go to his daughter. The former penn economics professor is serving five to ten years in prison after pleading guilty to killing his wife, ellen. She was beaten to death in december 2006 inside the couples home in king of prussia. Yesterday in court, rafael robb and his daughter, olivia, whos now 20, took the stand. Robb admitted again to killing his wife. Olivia robb, who was 12 when her mom was murdered, said she felt as if she lost both parents. Were learning more this morning about how accused trooper killer eric frein may have been able to avoid capture for 48 days. Newly released Court Documents show police found a laptop and two storage drives inside the abandoned airport hangar where frein was captured last thursday. Frein told police that he used unprotected wifi hotspots to connect to the internet. Authorities say he may have read media reports to learn where police were focusing search efforts. Obviously well planned out, you know. And this guys no dummy. He really thought this through. Frein has been assigned two public defenders. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for november 12th. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. At 5 49, a new study just in suggests that violence in video games and movies has no impact on violent acts in society. A study of movie violence from 1920 to 2005 found no overall correlation with homicide rates from those same years. A second study found no link between time spent playing violent video games and Youth Violence rates from 1996 to 2011. Experts say focusing on poverty, education and Mental Health may be the best ways to reduce violence.
