Nbc 10 jesse gary is follow developments live at Philadelphia Police headquarters. Jesse, you have new information about how this crime was reported to police. Yeah, vai, i checked in with detebtive detectives and the brother of the person of interest called police regarding the shooting. That left a woman in Critical Condition at jefferson hospital. Investigators say at least six shots were fired inside a row home near south fifth and christian streets late last night. Police are now focusing their search on a 32yearold man who lives with the victim inside the home whom they call a person of interest. Ballistic evidence is at the scene and early clues point towards the person of interest. Theres no signs of forced entry. The only sign is a sign of a struggle on not only the first floor front and back rooms, but also on the second floor. Several items, furniture, a broken, they are turned over. There are several flat screen tvs that were ripped from the walls and ripped from the counters and laying on the floor at the property. Police have not said what sparked the violence inside the home. Also new from overnight, police are looking for the attacker who stabbed a man in the stomach in north philadelphia on broad street near erie around 1 30. Investigators say the victim got into an argument with a man at a Chinese Restaurant and the man stabbed him. The victim was taken to the Temple University hospital in Critical Condition. We have new information this morning about the flight that was shot down over ukraine. In the past hour, Dutch Aviation experts release their official report and, as expected, it shows Malaysia Airline flight was hit by high energy objects, thats what theyre calling it from outside the plane. It did not specifically say surface to air missile. Plane was blown out of the sky killing all 298 people onboard. Happening today the prosecution is expected to rest its case against the woman accused of abducting a 5yearold philadelphia girl from school and sexually abusing her. The defense will then take over. At the beginning of the trial the defense attorney told us that he was pretty sure that he put Christina Regusters on the stand. She maintained her innocence and accused of taking the 5yearold from brian elementary in january of last year. Yesterday an fbi agent testified about web searches found on her laptop. Days before the kidnapping there were searches for muslim garb and child pornography. After the crime, there were searches on rape, dna and fingerprinting. The defense says the computer had no password protection so anyone could have used it. Also happening today, jury selection begins for a new jersey army major and his wife accused of abusing and neglecting their adopted children. Prosecutors say the assaults by john and Carolyn Jackson were so violent they caused broken bones on the children. Prosecutors say the couple told their biological children that they were training the adopted children to behave and instructed the biological children not to tell anyone. People who know the couple say they are loving parents and believe they will be exonerated. 5 34. A philadelphia man accused of murdering a 16yearold boy is expected in court today. Hall will have preliminary hearing. He shot haneswort just steps from his home and a second man was wounded. Police are investigating after a teenager was shot and killed near his home in north philadelphia. 24th and west huntingdon street where the 17yearold was hit in the chest just before 9 00 last night. The shooter ran away. Theyre reviewing private surveillance cameras in the area for clues about the suspect. We learned that Philadelphia Police fired at least one shot before taking a suspect into custody last night. This all happened at 62nd and vine streets in west philadelphia. And were told the bullet did not hit anyone and no one was hurt. Witnesses tell nbc 10 it all start would a fight nearby when officers showed up people ran and thats when the shot was fired. Police are not commenting on what led up to the shooting and internal affairs is now looking into it. An update to the story we told you about yesterday morning. Police in delaware arrested a third person in connection with that video shown online showing a group of teenagers attacking a man with special needs. Leave me alone a 14yearold boy turned himself into police last night. Two other young teens were arrested sunday night after their families went to police. A manager at a newark mcdonalds says a few weeks ago a group of boys took the food he just bought and threw it in the road. Police say there could be more arrests. We are getting a good look at a man this morning who is wanted by police in connection with a bank robbery in Montgomery County last week. After grabbing the money he drove off in a white sedan. Philadelphia police are searching for this man. Police say he broke into a Computer Store on caughtman avenue in may fair last week. He looked around and grabbed several items and then left. Investigators tell us that the thief broke the front display window eto get in and out of the store. Someone broke into five homes in ratner township sunday morning while the owners were inside sleeping. The houses on st. Davids avenue, bell rose lane and glenmary road. The police say the burglar got in through opened windows and unlocked doors and took handbags, cell phones, laptops and liquor. Police are warning people to look out for suspicious people walking in the area. A burglar who hit a school and it was all caught on tape. Police say this guy got into the Master Charter School in north philadelphia late last month. He made off with a safe. You see him carrying it off there. This contained 100 septa train passes worth more than 9,000 and detectives say they were meant for school students. Now to another warning from Delaware County for homeowners. This one is about a phone scam. Heres how this one works. Youll get a call telling you a Family Member has been arrested or needs bail money or that you owe money to the irs. Then youre told to buy a prepaid credit card and give that number to the caller. Radnor Township Police say four people have been ripped off through this scam.
