Any time during the afternoon in general and the threat is for damaging winds at least in some locations and also localized flooding. Its not going to be a widespread thing where everybody gets it. But you can see its a very impressive band. Really heavy rain in virginia. Some of that will move up later on. In the meantime ahead of the main area, we do have some pretty heavy showers moving from south to north. Theyre moving right over the same area. We call that training. So some places could get a couple or three hours of steady, heavy rain. And that could cause localized flooding. While other places are not getting much at all. Right now, for example, nothing in berks county, but Lancaster County getting clobbered. Some of that will head up toward berks county. We have some rain in the philadelphia area already. But thats way ahead of the main area. As you can see on the futurecast, its later this afternoon as the really heavy stuff comes in and much of that coming during the afternoon rush between, lets say, 3 00 and 6 00 where some of the heaviest activity will be moving through. Thats not the end of the rain either. We will talk more about the timing of more rain and also big changes for the weekend with the sevenday. A second Healthcare Worker in texas has been diagnosed with the virus. Both workers were caring for Thomas Eric Dunn con at Texas Health Presbyterian hospital. He died earlier this month. The hospital is looking into how the workers got infected. A lot is being said about what may have occurred to cause our colleague dozen contract this disease. Its clear there was an exposure somewhere, some time in their treatment of mr. Duncan. The nations Largest Nurses Union has accused the hospital of leaving duncan in an open area for hours and having staff treat him for daze without protective gear. Delaware county created its own ebola task force. Members will meet to discuss how well schools are prepared. More from upper darby high school. Reporter the deadly ebola vee ru virus will be a topic. Its where School Leaders and Health Officials will talk about the threats to students as well as the commune did i. In addition to the ebola virus they will talk about enterovirus and the flu. They created a task force yesterday. The countys medical adviser says they will educate people about the ebola virus, determines which hospitals are most prepared to care for potential patients and also talking with airport leaders about the possibility of extra screening for travelers. One thing we have to acknowledge, with viruses do not have borders or boundaries. We have to be prepared. Reporter today the task force will hear from School Leaders about how prepared each individual building is against a potential outbreak. Ebola screenings will begin at newark, washington and atlanta will take temperatures of passengers arriving from three west african countries. Screeners will use no touch thermometers to try and find passengers with fevers. The screenings started at Kennedy International saturday. Customs Officials Say 150 people traveled daily from or through liberia, sierra lee sierra leo. Cases of enterovirus are expected to spike. The 4yearold died last month. Two communities are stepping up cleaning efforts because of concerns about enterovirus and ebola. In jackson township, the eight playgrounds are being disinfected several times a week and at schools, the custodial staff is wiping down every surface they can to stop germs from spreading. Houses and parked cars were hit by stray bullets. The two victims are in stable victims with Police Looking for the shooter. In the manhunt for eric frein, there are new concerns that the fugitive could strike again. He has been on the run for 34 days now. He is accused of shooting two troopers, killing one of them. The state Police Commissioner has a concern over frein attacking again. In atlantic city, a man is admitting he killed his mother. He beat his mother to death over the weekend. He broke down in court yesterday and told the judge he was guilty and didnt want a trial. Before his mothers death, he had just been released from prison for another murder. He was 15 when he shot and killed his next door neighbor back in 1984. A man accused of murdering a 3yearold girl is scheduled for a preliminary hearing. He is charged in the deadly shooting in philadelphia back in august. Authorities say he killed the little girl. He was shooting at a man nearby when the bullet hit the little girl. The woman who was braiding her hair at that time was also wounded in the attack. A High School Football player is charged with Sexual Assault and are waiting to find out if they will be charged as several defendants were in court yesterday. Were just about all going to be seeing rain. Some of us will see severe storms. Thats why we have a first alert for today just to give you a heads up that this afternoon especially we may be having to put out some warnings and tell you about specific storms that could be causing gusty winds and even some localized flooding. Not everybody is going to get it. Its not going to be as bad as it was to our west. We are getting the remnants. Cloudy skies and 75. Its warm for this time of the year. The wind is out of the south. Its one degree warmer than it was at this time yesterday. You can see were in the 70s, generally mid 70s in most of the area. 66 in the poconos and 78 degrees in dover. We have warmth. We have high humidity for this time of the year. And a fairly strong system moving in from the west. What is happening here is so far, all the activity is moving straight south to north. That, of course, keeps new jersey mostly dry for example. But it also means some of the same areas keep getting rain over and over again. We call that training. Sometimes that can lead to some localized flooding. Back to the west is the main area of rain. You can see it extends from canada through north carolina. This has to slide to the east before we can clear out. Obviously, theres going to be wet weather on the way. Our futurecast showing some of those thunderstorms even as early as noon. Its generally to the west. Going to take a while for this to clear out. Because, remember, everything is moving south to north at the moment. By 2 00, lots of thunderstorms to the west. But as we get toward the afternoon rush, 4 00, unfortunately, to 6 00, 7 00, theres that line of thunderstorms. The woman treated Thomas Duncan who died from the virus last week. That woman is in isolation. The cdc announced the worker did travel by plane earlier this the week. She was on a Frontier Airlines flight 1143 which traveled from cleveland to fort worth on monday. She reported symptoms the next day. The cdc is trying to contact the passengers who were on that flight. This Development Comes as other nurses who treated duncan say they worked for days in dangerous conditions without proper protective gear. They say the entire lab specimen Delivery System could have been contaminated. More than 70 hospital workers are being monitored. Health officials admit the government was not aggressive enough in containing the virus in dallas. The cdc send a team. I think we believe that we could have done better is the oversight of the implementation of the protocols. New jersey hospitals are being told to test their ability to handle ebola. Of course, temperature will go down a little bit as the rain comes in. For example, 73 in west chester with the rain. Its still pretty warm for this time of the year. The average high is only 67. These are the sustained winds right now. 20 in philadelphia. 21 in dover. The stronger winds are starting to spread up northward. The wind gusts are 20 to 30 miles an hour now. Some of those gusts will be increasing. Even without thunderstorms. We may see thunderstorms this afternoon. Reading, when we started the newscast, was dry. Now its totally covered in berks county with rain, with more coming up from the south. Its that south to north motion that may be causing some of this localized flooding as we go through the afternoon. The biggest threat would be in northern and Western Areas where they are getting pounded. Throughout berks county, western Chester County, Lancaster County getting hit hard right now. As you can see, some of the heaviest rain has moved into berks county. We have patches in Chester County already. Thats not even with the main band of rain. This has to come through before we can give you the all clear. Theres plenty more moisture down to the south that is going to do this. Here is another one of the High Resolution models showing the one to the north and west over the reading area and Chester County and Lancaster County. But as we head toward the late afternoon, rush hour period, it starts moving eastward. Were getting into delaware and new jersey and the philadelphia area. To an update on our top story. A second worker at a texas hospital has tested positive for ebola. The woman is in isolation. The cdc announced moments ago that she did travel by plane on monday. The worker was on a Frontier Airlines flight 1143, which went from cleveland to fort worth on monday. She started showing symptoms the very next day.
