Thats where a man was shot to death after leaving a party around 2 30 this morning. There were at least two dozen people inside the house at the time of the shooting. The victim was 35 years old. Police are now talking to witnesses at the party who may also new from overnight, Philadelphia Police are looking calling a suspicious death. Nbc 10 was at the scene on locust street in west philadelphia, just after 11 15 last night, where detectives say a 49yearold woman was found face down in a bedroom inside the house. Police have not said how the woman may have died. A man is hurt this morning after a crash in the germantown neighborhood of philadelphia. This happened along wayne avenue and west walnut lane overnight. The 29yearold passenger in the the 29yearold victim was a passenger in the sedan that crashed. Its unclear what caused the wreck. This morning, the search will continue for a Westchester University student who went missing after a night out on thanksgiving eve. Nbc 10s matt delucia is live in manayunk, the last place anybody saw 21yearold Shane Montgomery. Fill us in whats happening there today. Reporter Philadelphia Police and the marine unit will be out where we are is right across the street from the last place that Shane Montgomery was seen. Last night here in this very spot, several hundred family members, friends, and neighbors came out for a candlelight vigil. A priest led the group in prayer as Shane Montgomerys family wrapped up yet another day of an exhaustive search that turned up nothing. The 21yearold westchester senior was out with friends wednesday night into early thursday morning here on main street, and once shane left, no one heard from him. Some of the supporters are shanes former High School Classmates and friends. Theyve been spending their Holiday Weekend looking for shane. Went all the way down there. We were up at conti at one point. Weve been all around. Still looking, though. Its good with the turnout, that everyones pulling to for shane. Just hope we find him. Offering a 10,000 reward for information leading to shanes whereabouts. What youre seeing now is the search as it happened yesterday afternoon. I was there as they all gathered together just beforehand at the church. Id say easily a few hundred people in attendance. The family thanked members of the search party last night, saying that this really is what keeps them going through all of this. But now they are asking that volunteers stay home today and let the police handle the search. And let them focus without any interference. This morning, Pennsylvania State police and the Chester County fire martials office will resume their work to try to determine what caused a deadly house fire. The flames broke out around 1 30 yesterday morning on harmoniville road in warwick township. Police say a man and woman died in the fire. Their identities have not been released. Investigators tell us they do not consider the fire to be suspicious. Philadelphia police say the citys murder rate is up from last year, but they say its still better than other recent years. Police count 228 homicides so far this year. Thats nine more than this point in 2013, but its less than both 2012 and 2011 when there were 301 homicides by november 29th. You may remember, philadelphia was in the National Spotlight last year when the number of murders dropped to its lowest level in nearly half a century. Today officials in ferguson, missouri, will issue a statement on the resignation of Police Officer darren wilson. Hes the officer who shot and killed michael brown, the unarmed teenager. Wilson was on administrative leave since the shooting in august. Last monday, a grand jury in ferguson decided not to indict wilson for killing the 18yearold during a confrontation. Both the shooting and the decision have fueled protests in ferguson and across the country. Wilsons lawyer says that the officer stepped down for the good of the community and his fellow officers. Hes simply walking away because he believes that his continued employment would put others at risk. Certainly theres no wrong doing on his part. To resign might have suggested he did something wrong. He needs to be behind bar. He didnt have no choice, really. Thats just some of the reaction to wilsons resignation, which has taken effect immediately. A new style of protesting in ferguson is under way. It happened yesterday. Demonstrators set out on a weeklong 120mile march from ferguson to the Governors Mansion in jefferson city, missouri. The naacp organized the march and says that they want Police Reform in ferguson and across the nation. In st. Louis today, reverend al sharpton will be a guest preacher at the church where Michael Browns funeral was held. Browns parents are expected to attend the sunday service that will offer prayers for the late teenager. Some Penn State University trustees are asking to review documents used to investigate child sex abuse complaints in the Jerry Sandusky scandal. Those do you means were used to create the 2012 report issued by former fbi director louis freeh. Several trustees are asking their chairman to share the information. They say they want to verify sources in the freeh report that accuse School Leaders of hiding complaints that sandusky was abusing children. The former assistant football coach is serving a 30 to 60year prison term for molesting ten boys. Court records show that the victims family tried to get a restraining order against the boyfriend last spring. Now to some news in georgia. A boy found behind a fake wall inside of a house has been reunited with his mother four years after he was first reported missing. He cried as he hugged his mother yesterday. The boy was visiting his father in 2010, and the father refused to return him to his mother. Officers found him hidden behind the false wall yesterday morning. The teen was able to call his mom while the officers were inside the house. She relayed Vital Information to the police which led to the discovery. The boys father and stepmother are now under arrest and accused of false imprisonment and cruelty to children. Three other kids inside the house were also arrested. Its unclear who has custody of the boy, although he was reunited with his mother yesterday, hell likely stay in the custody of Childrens Services for now. In texas, a houston man is in the hospital after his truck plunged more than 20 feet down a ditch at a construction site. Police say the man ran several red lights, sideswiped a car, and then crashed through a fence before ending up inside this hole. Witnesses climbed down to rescue him. Investigators believe that alcohol may have played a role in this wreck. There have been many violent scenes from protests over the grand jury decision in ferguson, missouri.
