Meantime, thomas duncan, being treated for ebola in texas, has gotten worse and is now in critical condition. The head of the centers for Disease Control and prevention says about 50 people who had contact with duncan have been located and tested. So far, no one is showing symptoms. When it comes to keeping people infected with ebola out of the united states, Health Officials say theres no realistic way to do it. Although we might wish we could seal ourselves off from the world, there are americans who have the right of return there are many other people who have the right to enter into this country, and that were not going to be able to get to zero risk no matter what we do. Meantime, bed sheets, towels, and mattresses have already been removed from the apartment where duncan was staying. Eventually, all items will be taken away and destroyed. Dozens of penn state students are being monitored for the ebola virus. 80 students traveled to areas near the outbreak and are now spread out all across penn state campuses. Experts say the likelihood that those students have the virus, though, is very slim. A massachusetts doctor who was successfully treated for ebola after returning from west africa is now back in the hospital. Doctors say it appears he has a respiratory infection and they dont believe its a recurrence of the virus. He was released from the hospital about a week and a half ago. Maybe not getting much above 60 degrees. In georgia, police are looking for two suspects who tried to slow down an officer with some stolen chain saws. A Police Dash Cam shows the suspects tossing those chain saws off their getaway van during a high speed chase. Police say the two men stole them from a hardware store. The officer driving the patrol car had to swerve to avoid a direct hit. A short time later, the van stopped and the suspects ran into some nearby woods. Authorities at jfk airport in new york say a smoker caused a security breach. They say the man left a passenger waiting area to take a cigarette break after he went through security screening. They say he then tried to return through a gate which wasnt open. Some flights were delayed while officials spoke with the man. He was not arrested.
