I think that this is very reassuring to folks in our community who have concern about ebola. Nbc 10s Deanna Durante has been examining the impact of the new law. Deanna, some people are questioning is this really a good idea . I spoke with a group, mothers in charge. While they say they are supportive of the change in the law, meaning if someone is caught with a small amount of marijuana, they wont be prevented from going to college or have an arrest record, they still ask the question, what kind of message does this send . Marijuana is a gateway drug that leads to more serious kinds of drugs. Thats my concern with that. But i am all in favor of young people not having to not be able to get a job or go on to college because theyve been charged with a felony. Reporter should carrying a small amount of marijuana be a felony . No according to the founder and executive director of mothers in charge and although she supports the decriminalization of marijuana, she wishes more education and Community Awareness had happened before this new law went into effect. Reporter that is a big misconception. It is not okay to be founded with marijuana or smoke it in public places. Its not legal.
