Situation. The drenching downpours are taking their toll this evening. Police closed off ford road in Fairmont Park because of flooding and the rain isnt letting up. Lets get right to meteorologist sheena parveen. Will it clear out for the morning . For some of us. But through the overnight hours more rain is moving in. Right now we do have showers on radar. Some hev rer rain starting to move into parts of new castle county, smyrna. And parts of berks county through bernville along 78 here, some heavier rain starting to move through. Even along the shore just light rain out through parts of Atlantic County up to burlington county, but we do expect more rain as we go overnight tonight. Its all moving in from the south. You can see the motion. We wont get rid of the moisture within the next i would say eight to 12 hours. A very slow moving system. Its actually a cold front. It will take its time getting out of here, so we still have more rain to the south than moving up overnight tonight. So we still expect areas of heavy rain, could see localized flooding and gusty winds some of the showers and possible a chance of a thunderstorm. Ill show you the timing on this and how it will play into your morning commute. See you soon. She treated ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan before his death. She then boarded a plane to ohio before flying back to dallas. She said she had a temperature of 99. 5. She knew that was elevated. She wanted to check with them to see if she could get on the plane and the cdc did not ban her from getting on that flight. Now, since she has returned back to dallas, she actually boarded a private plane to atlanta where she will be treated at Emory University hospital. Emory University Hospital has treated other ebola patients at that facility and it is also the home atlanta is the home of the cdc. Now, when this woman, when the nurse boarded that Frontier Airline flight from cleveland, ohio, where she was visiting, back to dallas, there were other passengers on board, more than 100 other passengers. We actually heard from one this evening who said she thought she was safe. She thought air travel was safe, but now shes not so sure. She doesnt know how to feel because shes not heard much information. Shes been reaching out to the cdc for more information as well. As for other air passengers, we talked to some passengers from philadelphia to dallas on our flight this afternoon. They said they are taking some extra precautions. Some of their family members are concerned, but some people say they have to travel for business and theres not much they can do but just hope that everyone does the right thing and the cdc and the government gets it under control. It happened about a block away from campus, which worried some students who knew nothing about it. Temple students walking near campus tonight were alarmed to hear that one of their own was attacked at random earlier in the day. Especially since campus is right here and it happened right over here, so thats like a little discomforting to know. Reporter the incident happened a block south of campus on 13th street near oxford. Students were not alerted to the most recent crime, because according to a campus spokesman, it didnt fit the criteria needed for a text or email alert. Yes, because i would have taken a different way. I always think we should be alerted. Students at a Lehigh Valley high school say a friendly soccer rivalry turned into bullying after players on one team kept using the Ebola Outbreak to trash talk an opponent. Students say it happened during a thursday night soccer game between northampton and nazareth high schools. According to a nazareth player who was born in west africa, players on the northampton team teased him throughout the game that he had ebola or that his parents would soon be infected. Northampton School District is now looking into it. Students at nazareth say it was mean spirited. I heard them all say ebola, and then they Say Something about his parents. One of the players were walking out of the stadium, they said that he had ebola and our coach yelled at them. I can assure you that the district takes all of these accusations and allegations seriously. Nazareth students passed out antiracism bracelets in support of their soccer player. The ad saying you can make up to 120 bucks for signing up. We contacted the Commonwealth Foundation which is considered a conservative pennsylvania free market think tank for comment. The Organization Makes it clear this isnt a counterprotest but confirmed it hired a team to appear at the demonstration. In a statement they say, Commonwealth Foundation hired 12 people to hold banners and pass out handouts at tomorrows pft rally. We will be there, not to counter protest, but to inform the public of how the pft has failed teachers and students. Thats an absolute false notion. Reporter as for the union, they say theres nothing that will distract them from letting teachers have their say. What the src did last week in their ambush against the pft was to try to insinuate that pfts teachers werent giving enough out of their own pockets to keep our schools running, and just the opposite is true. Reporter the rally is set to begin at 4 30 tomorrow afternoon. Of course well be here to bring you the very latest. For now live in spring garden. Nefertiti jaquez, nbc 10 news.
