Donald trump is a good man and he will make a great president of the United States of america. Trumps choice has been praised by paul ryan and marco ru rubio. And here in philadelphia, were just nine days away from a Democratic National convention. Tonight protesters are getting ready to make their moves at the dnc. But some Bernie Sanders supporters who want to protest at a park near the Wells Fargo Center will not be able to do it. Drew, thousands of sanders supporters were trying to rally there. Reporter they were expecting to hear from the senator himself because they had applied to be here but the city denied that application because it was inside a baseball stadium. The city says thats not okay. But you will hear from Bernie Sanders inside the Wells Fargo Center on the Opening Night of the convention, now that he has thrown his support behind hillary clinton. The signs are already up, march on dnc, they say. Hoping the predicted 50,000 protesters show up. In fdr park today, people told us this is a good gathering spot. People have got to get to work and a whole bunch of other stuff, so its like they could be here protesting but not on the streets. Reporter some groups plan to march on South Broad Street and that means cars like these parked in the median have to move starting a week from tomorrow. Demonstrators wont be on this baseball field. The city denied a Sanders Campaign application to gather here, saying recreation areas are off limits. It would be fine with me, as long as they dont protest on my tennis courts. Reporter at a protest Training Session in center city, there are still a lot of questions. Ive heard that theyre trying to impose a 10 00 curfew. But i have no idea where will people go. Reporter others are feeling good about the citys approach. Im feeling really positive. Reporter Joyce Crocker says its still good to be prepared. Im trying to learn as much as i can. I have four people from all over the country staying with me, and i want to make sure that theyre safe. Police tell us the first person needed cpr on the beach around 3 00 this afternoon, and just minutes later a second woman was hurt while sitting in her car. Police dont think either of them were directly struck by lightning, but both are expected to be okay. Showers passing through philadelphia this afternoon. It is dry right now as we take a live look at Citizens Bank park. The phillies should still be able to get their game in tonight, which you can watch right here on nbc 10 in just about an hour. There is a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in parts of south jersey right now. Meteorologist violeta yas is tracking the storms. Weve had a few warnings that have expired but we have thunderstorms moving through parts of new jersey. Dry right now in philadelphia but we have a heavy shower passing through waterford, extending up toward tabernacle. You can see the red, yellow and orange shading, that indicating heavy rainfall. This extending into parts of ocean county. We also have heavy rain near manchest manchestma manchest manchester. Theres a Severe Thunderstorm Warning and we actually of course have gotten some reports of flooding across ocean county where we had a strong thunderstorm move through with those Lightning Strikes toward the shore. Thats in effect through 6 30. The bulk of the stronger thunderstorms have been east of the i95 corridor. We did get reports of some hail up toward Mercer County and down toward Burlington County as well in terms of wind damage there. So heavier storms moving through. Locally we are dry right now. You can see additional thunderstorms starting to develop. Some heavier storms toward baltimore so we need to watch the next couple of hours and see if those start to push off to the east. The threat will continue at the very least into the midnight hour. Those storms have brought in some cooler air after a very hot and humid day. Coming up well take a look at whats in store for the second part of your weekend. And now to the latest on the bastille day terror in nice, france. Today isis claimed responsibility for the truck attack that killed 84 people thursday. So far police have detained five people as they search for answers. Among them, the Truck Drivers wife, who according to reports, kicked him out because he beat her. Mohamed bohlel known to police as a petty criminal was not on the radar of any security or intelligence officials in france. In the meantime the memorial for those killed in the attack continues to grow. Translator i am crying, and i am lucky to not be grieving. But i am nonetheless grieving because it is my city. It is the people i love. It is humanity. Among those killed, a father and his 11yearold son from austin, texas, and a uc Berkeley Student is still missing. Tonight turkeys president has declared hes in control of the country after an attempted coup leaves dozens of people dead. The turkish president blames a man in pennsylvania for the uprising. The clash has left at least 194 people dead, including 47 civilians and 41 police officers. Turkish authorities detained more than 2800 military personnel and plotters who tried to overthrow the government using tanks and helicopters. Turkeys president said the uprisers were being told what to do from pennsylvania at the commands of fethullah gulen. Hes an islamic cleric who lives in exile in a large compound in the poconos. Cooper University Health care and Cooper Foundation employees brushed off their brooms this morning for a great cause. They took to the streets of the landing square neighborhood to help with a Community Cleanup effort. We spoke to one volunteer about why this is so important. It means that the kids will have a safe place to come out and play without being subject to, you know, just trash all over the place. Well, todays sweltering heat did not stop people from visiting the ice cream freeze in center city. People got foods, cold drinks and ice cream. I dont think so. It looks like more 90degree temperatures in the forecast the next couple of days and this heat and humidity are also helping us fuel this showers and thunderstorms weve seen across the area. It looks like the threat will continue for the next couple of hours at the very least until midnight. As i just mentioned, the heat and humidity will continue into your sunday and into monday. The humidity will start to come up yet again and thats going to be out ahead of our next storm system thats likely going to bring us more showers and thunderstorms, likely to be toward the middle of the week. Now, we have had some slight cooling with the thunderstorm that had moved through. 85 right now in philadelphia, 78 right now across some of our pennsylvania suburbs. 81 in fleetwood, 87 in blanden, cooks town 85. Allentown were at 87 degrees. Thats after several spots reached the 90degree mark. Penns port 71. Again, we did have some storms shift east of philadelphia now into parts of new jersey and that has since ushered in some slightly cooler air but its going to remain hot and humid. You can see some lingering cloud cover there. Our afternoon high, 94 degrees. Three days in a row of 90degree temperatures or higher. Its likely to continue sunday and monday. Not only are we dealing with heat but humidity as well. Thunderstorms mainly focused on new jersey. Weve got this heavier shower now moving through waterford, east of tabernacle. Rainfall rates of over an inch an hour, so if this were to stay in the same spot, it could produce quite a bit of rain in a short amount of time. Thats actually what it did here. We actually have a flood advisory in effect through 10 00 eastern time. Now, the Severe Thunderstorm Warning also continues through 6 30. Again, as the thunderstorm continues to shift into eastern Burlington County, well have to watch that and see if it weakens. The majority of the heavier rainfall has been across parts of southern new jersey. Thunderstorms have been very isolated so in some spots you havent had much, its just heat and humidity through much of the afternoon. Again, well have to watch out for spotty thunderstorms. Perhaps after midnight our best chance is north and west. Well have to watch out for that. Sunday into your monday, more heat and more humidity. And then as we head into your monday night and actually into your tuesday, well start to watch for the threat of showers and thunderstorms that are going to start to move in from the west. So again, not a whole lot of rainfall the next couple of days but the threat will be there as we head toward the middle of the week. You will see that will usher in cooler air wednesday looking fantastic with mostly sunny skies, more seasonal temperatures and lower humidity after a very hot and very humid couple of days.
