today is monday, september 26th. 3 fiber map 3 a baltimore county police officer fatally shoots a man in north point.it happened late last night.police say 40-year old nathan mccormick charged at the officer with a knife.it happened at the 7300 block of berkshire.around 9:30 last night... police responded here to a call of a man threatening to harm himself and his girlfriend. girlfriend.according to police, nathan mccormick and his girlfriend had been arguing on and off for the past couple of weeks.when police responded to his house... mccormick answered the door... armed with two knifes.officers asked him to drop the weapons... and that's when they say... mccormick charged the officers with the knifes.one officer fired... and hit mccormick. 12:22:13"they just shot him for no reason in the door"butt with:12:22:20"how could they be threatened they were outside he was inside"12:29:57 "he attacked the officer moved towards at least two officers" officers"at this point it's unclear where mccormick was shot or even how many times. but we do know that he was taken to bayview hospital... and pronounced dead. right now internal affairs is investigating the shooting. city police are investigating the deaths of two men this morning... both shot dead outside a church.it happened in the early morning hours sunday... at this northwest baltimore church on dolfield avenue. pastor terry thornton can hardly believe what happened here... just hours before church services. 12:07:02 "it's disheartening that this kind of crime could happen anywhere, but when it happens in front of a church... no respect for life." life."so far, police have no suspects in the case. two teenagers are charged in a hit and run and attempted car jacking... near arundel mills . mall.police say this man... 19-year-old gregory lassiter and his 15 year-old passenger smashed a stolen vehicle into another car yesterday .... and then took off. the pair then hopped into another vehicle and ordered the driver to speed away, but were arrested before they got away. lassiter was under the influence of drugs.the driver of the other car is recovering from minor injuries. the trial continues today... for the man accused of killing an elderly security guard at a chinese carry-out last year.michael hunter faces first-degree murder charges... in the killing of 72-year-old charles bowman.the trial was postponed several times... after accusations of witness intimidation.a jury was finally selected last week.a co-defendant in bowman's murder has already pleaded guilty. jury selection begins today... in the federal corruption case against a maryland lawmaker. lawmaker.state senator ulysses currie is accused of accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars from shoppers food warehouse... in exchange for securing meetings with top state officials... and pushing favorable legislation for the company. currie's lawyers argue their client was being treated for cancer and taking medication that made him "fuzzy" during an f-b-i investigation three years ago. in d-c... a small electrical fire breaks out prompting an evacuatiin at union station. the fire was in the control room.the power was shut off and everyone got out of the station.no one was hurt and the station is up and running this morning. the american hikers... accused of spying in iran... are waking up in the united states. two of them arrived in new york sunday after more than two years in prison.as rick vincent explains... they're sharing details about their 781 days behind bars... for the first time ever. ever. the hikers held prisoner in iran after apparently crossing the iranian border in 2009, are back together, on u-s soil. speaking sunday, they called iranian officials, liars for calling them spies.
