this group following a violent confrontation on the streets of baltimore. kai reed has more on this morning's big story. >> sorry about that. we're having technical difficulties and will get to that in a moment. police have arrested two minute in connection with a series of burglaries at several shopping centers in columbia. this morning the police believe they are responsible for 34 break-ins in two counties. davon johns and sylvester johnson. johnson remains behind bars while jones is out on bail. investigators say these two robbed a dozen restaurants at several strip malls. in these cases, police say cash was taken. all the entry was made through the front of the businesses. the pair was able to get past alarm sims by crawling on the ground. now investigators say jones and johnson were connected to 2 other burglaries. a third man was also involved in four of those burglaries. >> we now know the name of the off-duty police officer accused of killing a teenager in baltimore county after putting him in a chokehold. we're told he was a nine-year veteran of the force when he heard and nice and saw three or four boys run-off. he caught up with christopher brown who was 17. brown lost consciousness and later died at the hospital. >> police have made an arrest in the death a toddler. this morning 22-year-old charmel thomas has been chadged with second-degree murder in the death of his 1-year-old daughter. he admitted to shaking the baby who he had been watching for several days causing her to have seizures. police say the child had visible bruises. she was taken to the hospital where she later died. >> the regional airport remains closed this morning. the pilot was flown to shock trauma, but he didn't make it. kate amara has more on that investigation. >> it was a crash that shut down the carroll county regional airport. a small plane attempting an emergency landing crashed after 10:00 a.m. on the north of the runway. the pilot flown to shock trauma in critical condition but didn't make it. maryland police have identified him as being from rockville. he was the only person on board. >> my heart goes out to his family. >> the crash left a 40 yard debris field. it came as a blow to the flying community here. >> that's horrible. as a pilot, and being a peer based at this airport for a number of years, i never want to hear that. that is sad and disheartening. >> now the investigation begins. the -- state police say before the impact, about a mile from the airport, judd kins reported mechanical problems with the aircraft. >> the most hazardous parts of flying are the take-off. because in is more concentration required from the pilot. there are more things he has to stay on top of. investigators will be back on scene saturday searching for a cause. kate amara, wbal-tv 11 news. >> new details surfacing out of the investigation into the secret service. federal investigators have released allegations involving the agency. they include involvement of prostitutes, sexual assault, and illegal wiretaps since 2004. it is unknown how many of the crimes were true. some officials say the crimes were dealt with administratively. the agency has not responded tot report. >> in a surprise move that seems sure to affect the race for the white house, president obama ordered a major change in immigration enforcement. young people brought here by their parents as children can stay. steve handelsman has more. >> barack obama has deported more illegal immigrants than any other president. today he ended affect us. out in the central part of the country. down in the gulf coast region, some thunderstorms. something may get close to us by monday. until then, it is clear sailing, if you will excuse the pun there with all the sailor activities we have at the inner harbor. not quite to sunrise yet. a beautiful little thin schiffer of a moon. and just to the right of center. 58 degrees at the airport. inner harbor 68 degrees. 71% the humidity. the barometer 30.28. the winds are calm. downtown, it is 71. so it's a nice morning this morning. a little bit of a chill in the air. what do you expect at this hour. inner harbor is 65. 82 is typical. we're in the range for what's normal this time of year. the bonus was the humidity. clouds came down in the afternoon. didn't do much of anything outside. made for an interesting looking sky. the lows yesterday morning roughly where the range of where we are right now. we look at those readings, 58 degrees at the airport. 59 sikesvill. the brightest green is the mildest, the warmest readings. darker green cooler. cockeysville 61. here's our satellite image. we saw the radar a second ago. clouds producing a thin band of showers off shore. more storminess far out to sea. this big area of high pressure is overhead. it is buffering the weather for us. pleasantly cool. upsettled weather in the gulf. stormy weather in the west. in the plains states, that stormy weather is what eventually will play in our weather next week, but not this weekend. national temperatures cooling under that high pressure, right under that ridge. out in the central part of the nation, a southerly breeze warming things up. it has been chilly in the pacific northwest and it will stay that way for a while. the map this evening shows a front out in the upper midwest. shower activity moving into the ohio river valley. we have a good forecast. mostly sunny today. 78-83 the high. east wind at 5 to 10 miles an hour. seven-day forecast. few cattered clouds firearm. back for a hearing on june 19. >> the regional airport in carroll county remains closed after a small plane crash friday morning. the flot was flown to shock trauma in critical condition, but later died. maryland police have identified him as henry judkins of rockville. he was the only one on board. >> 5,000 gallons of milk spilled onto the road after a tanker truck overturned. officials arrived to find the tanker on its side, leaking diesel fuel fuel. >> a major casino operator has come up with an agreement for six locations if voters approve it. m. g.m. wants to build a resort at national harbor. lowell melzer has details. >> a p.g. county developer and top brass from m. g.m. resorts were here in annapolis, talking to the governor about a sixth casino location at the national harbor in p.g. county. the governor telling reporters, he feels this is a great idea. >> we're not going to drop las vegas in national harbor. >> chairman and c.e.o. of m. g.m. resorts international makes it clear, the letter of intent his company signed with a.j. developer peterson companies will bring a world class casino to the national harbor. one that won't just be a casino but a destination. >> we look for places where we can build our nongaming enterprise. we don't view ourselves as a slot house company. it is not interesting to us. but rather an integrated resort based company. >> conditions of the letter of intent include lowering what's the unusually high tax rate from 67% to 5 pfer. legalization of cable games, and of course, approving the sixth site. the 13 acre facility would be a green property, have 4,000 slots and 250 table games. m. g.m. would invest 600 million dollars and create 400 jobs. >> we were able to come together on terms and know that m. g.m. is going to build a resort that is what we would talk about, to make national harbor a better place than it is today. >> a group not happy with the proposal, the corniksh company that just opened the maryland live casino. representatives previously told 11 news a sixth location would over-saturate the market. >> they are interested in coming to maryland. >> governor o'malley supports the site and is encouraging p.g. county government to take a closer look as well as other maryland lawmakers. as to how this would affect baltimore's proposals, he said it wouldn't because of demographics. >> the one portion of the city, the one that would be the view of the nation's capital and the monument, they have different markets than say the one in rocky gap in western maryland or the one down in ocean city. >> now, it seems this will all come down to a special session, which it is rumored the goff is going to call for sometime in mid july. if a referendum passes, it will come down to voters in edgewood. and it's in the 50's out in oakland. even the mountains are relatively mild this time of year. not much consequence. kind of dries up. we'll pick up clouds. it might get over the mountains that drift our way as has happened the past couple days. all that stormy weather stays to the west. some storms could reach into the central mississippi valley and ohio river valley. that high pressure is still overhead. that keeps everything away. this afternoon p. yes, again a possibility. 78 to 83 for the high temperature. by the time we get to sunday afternoon, sunday evening, that cold front still in front of us. by monday morning, clouds. looks like we might pick up a shower or two. so first we'll look at father's day. the to-do list we get rid of. on dad's day off we enjoy good weather. southeast winds at 7. 82 degrees. seven-day forecast, though, monday 81. isolated with say scattered shower or thunderstorm. a little more significant weather rain wise coming in, in the firearms... and the promise of a ton of cocaine, are key parts of the startling case against several men investigators say were behind a major drug trafficking ring. city police and a-t-f agents rounded up the group following a violent confrontation on the streets of north baltimore. 11 news reporter kai reed has more details of this morning's big story. according to federal court records ... the six suspects -- >> suspects range in age from 18 to 23. they are charged with intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine and some firearms. >> these were very violent individuals who
