Beginning to look a lot like christmas. Amy freeze, thanks for warmer temperatures. More comfortable outside. About 10 degrees warmer right now as opposed to this is about as warm as it gets all day long. Temperatures in the low 50s. Wind expecting to come in. It will feel cool and brisk. The rain has moved out. That is the good news. A 24 hour temperature change. North and west, in some areas, 90 degrees cooler than yesterday. Quite a difference on the thermometer. You factor in the land. And it feels like the temperature is cool. It will be that way all day. Low 50s are the forecast high. It will feel even colder than the thermometer allday as well. The last of the rain moving off. Making its way toward the cape. For us today, it will be clouds giving way to sun breaks for the afternoon. Clouds rolling back and perhaps tonight. Post sunset, looking good. A mixture of sunshine and clouds. Clouds will rule the skies today. Expect it to be chili through the afternoon. Another day one you will need a coat. Even colder temperatures tomorrow. Following the terror attacks overseas, the nypd, the fbi, Homeland Security and even the secret service are suiting up this morning for Training Drills on city subways. Were live with what is going on this morning. Reporter good morning. I will tell you that the nypd has held active Shooter Drills in the past. This is the very first one to be conducted underground at a subway station. This station is just in the middle of a lockdown. It is going to be conducted in a part of the subway station that is no longer in use. There are a lot of different arms of the nypd participating in this. Specifically the Strategic Response command. Announced earlier this week, with 500 officers. They patrol Critical Infrastructure and sensitive areas of the city. You also have the Strategic Response group and other groups. About 10 different agencies this morning are here. As well as dogs. On friday, the commissioner took the subway from city hall to Grand Central terminal, just to reassure new yorkers that the subway and the city is safe. This drill is being held this morning just to reassure new yorkers it is in preparation. But there is no active or credible threat to new york city. They will be playing out two different scenarios this morning. I will have that coming up in the next halfhour. Channel 7, Eyewitness News. Tonight, the survivor series will go on as planned in atlanta as the fbi investigates reports of a isis threat against that event. Word of the threats came from a hacker group, anonymous, which reported uncovered information about isis attacks planned for the u. S. One of the threats reported by anonymous centers on Philips Arena tonight. The fbi says it is taking the reports seriously. But it does not have any specific or credible information about a threat at this time. Turning overseas, the focus of an anti terror crackdown. Then investigation has shifted from paris, to brussels. The belgium capital city is all about is on lockdown under intense security after the government issued a dire warning. That terrorists were poised to weekend paris. Now the hunt for one of the terrorists has led investigators back to belgian soil. We have the story. On the streets of brussels, police and soldiers outnumbered pedestrians as the government raised its terror alert to the highest level. Fears of a peristyle attack paris style attack happened with the belgian capital on edge and on guard. There are less people out. Adding to the fears, authorities think that, held up, maybe the man that got away. Salah abdeslam, believed to be the gunman shown in this Surveillance Video from a paris cafi obtained by daily mail. Com. Two of his friends now under arrest admit that they picked him up in paris after last weeks terror attacks and drove him back to his native belgium. Dangerous. Also under arrest, three suspected islamic militants, taken into custody by authorities in turkey. Turkish reports say investigators detained the two national and abetting isis. And fax, Police Believe the belgian may have researched areas in paris where the attacks trying to learn how the alleged mastermind of the killing spree, abdelhamed abaaoud, managed to enter france undetected. This, as mourners continue to gather at the makeshift memorials to the many victims. And making the awful memories worse, worries that seems like these may play out all over again. Channel 7, Eyewitness News. Back at home, police on long island are searching for the gunman who shot a man through the front door of a house in dix hills. Investigators say somebody rang the bell and fired when someone approached. The victim who was a house guest from virginia, was shot in the chest. He was rushed in the hospital and is in critical condition. Police are trying to determine what the motive was for this attack. A woman accused of cutting an unborn baby out of her murdered friends mom is being held in the psych ward and facing murder charges and all of this. Police say 22yearold Ashleigh Wade pretended to be pregnant everyone, including somehow, her boyfriend. According to investigators, Ashleigh Wade invited her pregnant friend to her bronx home when police say Ashleigh Wade stabbed a 22yearold Angelikque Sutton to death. And then cut the baby from her body. The baby did survive. Angelikque sutton did not. Dozens of students at Stony Brook University are forced out of their dorm room after a fire that gutted at least one room. Nobody was inside the room at oneill dormitory when the flames broke out around 7 00 last night. One hundred students were safely evacuated from the building well firefighters rushed into get the fire under control. School Officials Say the fire does not appear suspicious and they are working to find temporary housing for the displaced students. It will feel colder at times. Expect that chill in the air. There is rain that could linger. This is not showing up as precipitation on the map right now. There may be some lingering threat the jersey shore a lot jersey shoreline. Were watching that. The cold spell moves in tonight. Lingering through monday. That will be the coldest day of the week. Quiet as it can be through thanksgiving with a nice warm up coming our way. The system is slowly moving offshore. It may linger against the shoreline for a brief time this morning. Bernie sanders, Hillary Clinton and Martin Omalley in North Charleston campaigning at the jamboree. All three candidates shared similar viewpoints on eliminating the costs for Higher Education, increasing minimum wages and giving equal rights each candidate also had individual points they wanted drive home. Senator Bernie Sanders was the first president ial candidate to address the crowd in North Charleston speaking about the need for criminal justice reform. I promise to you is that there is no president who will fight harder to end institutional racism and create a fair criminal justice system. Next up to the podium, Martin Omalley. He showed passion when discussing the issue of immigration. Let us say loudly and proudly to the immigrant bashing carnival Barker Donald trump that the enduring symbol of our fence. Nation is the statue of liberty. And former secretary of state Hillary Clinton took to crowd erupted. She discussed her agenda to fight back against isis. We have to defeat them. We have to take them on the ground. We have to take them on in the air and online. Following the rally, all three president ial hopefuls mingled with the crowd. Some in attendance showed specific support. Others came to listen and hear what each candidate has to offer. I think all of them had some great points talking about equal rights for folks. And talking about the wage inequalities for individuals. Talking about healthcare for all. Each one of them has specific things that reached out to me. President ial candidate donald trump says his comments supporting a database for american muslims were taken out of context. And he was really actually voicing his support for the wall between the u. S. And mexico months. He says he does want a database of the people coming into the u. S. From syria. I want surveillance of these people. I want surveillance if we have to and i dont care. I want surveillance of certain mosques. The republican president ial hopeful has also voiced his support for closing certain mosques, as a way of combating terrorism. A years worth of training is paying off her former congresswoman gabrielle gifford, less than five years after being shot in the head. A 40mile bike ride. She was left paralyzed on the right side of her body after the 2011 shooting. But decided last year, she was ready to hit the road. She spent the year training on a special bike alongside her husband, tackling all 40 miles. She is in good shape to do this. She has been training a lot. She is ready to go. The bike ride was dedicated to get real gifford and her husband. She says one of the biggest milestones in her recovery was when she was able to get back on her bike. That is great. Were live with what is going on there. Reporter good morning. There were there are two different scenarios that will be acted out this morning. They will be conducted at the subway station. A portion of the station which is no longer in use. I want to show you all of the hundreds of officers. They have been here since 4 00 this morning getting ready for this drill. The very first girl will involve an active shooter on the platform. There will be people on the platform. Possibly an nypd officer in Transit Police will be the first to respond. The second scenario is very similar also with an active shooter. Multiple injuries on the platform. Possibly an nypd officer. The scenario will be different. There will be a subway train actually open on the platform with people coming out. You will have that people running and screaming and scared. There may also be a possible hostage situation in this scenario. And you will have the newly formed Critical Response command. Designated to patrol those Critical Infrastructure areas of the station. Again, this is just a drill. This is in preparation for any threat. I will tell you that it is not clear how long these will take. Because it just depends on how threat. That they are making this as realistic as possible. Course. For safety reasons, they had to check the weapons going inside. We will bring you more on this coming up on Eyewitness News in the reporting live, channel 7, Eyewitness News. An apparent murder suicide morning. In orange county, state police said they found 55yearold this 55yearold dead inside of her car yesterday. The body of Patrick Sorrentino was found nearby. Police say he shot her several times because he was angry over a breakup back in august. Patrick sorrentino was a former deputy chief with the Newburgh Police department. He retired back in 2007. Divers searching a reservoir in Westchester County for a plane the crash, may have found a large piece of a singleengine plane that went down in the reservoir in north salem thursday. Search crews also believe they found the remains of the two victims who were on their way home when the plane lost radar contact. A really big scare at a Movie Theater in new jersey. The multiplex theaters in edgewater real panic. The Movie Theater was packed when Authorities Say somebody jumped over a chair and made a sounded like a gunshot. Mayor Michael Mcpartland told us reaction among framed moviegoers. Everybody is on edge. We are so close to manhattan here. This would be a soft target. But the response was good. I talked to the manager inside. The police were here in moments. Nerves understandably rattled these days. Bombs smith bomb sniffing dogs check out the theater. Authorities did give it the all clear. Nobody was hurt. The theater did remain closed for the night. Today marks one year since 12yearold rice was shot and killed by Police Officer in ohio. Protesters rallied at the courthouse in cincinnati in the rain yesterday demanding charges against the officer who opened fire on the 12yearold. The shooting happened just seconds after the officer responded to the call of a person with a gun. Rice was holding a he was killed. Last month, two independent was justified in that shooting. Activists are rallying for a special prosecutor to be appointed in cleveland to oversee the case. Protesters blocked bill cosbys star on the hollywood state lawmakers to change the california statute of limitations on rape and Sexual Assault. The comedian has been accused of Sexual Assault by more than 50 women. Many of them joined in on the protest yesterday. When this is matched with the cold temperatures, it will feel not like the thermometer readings, but instead, more like low to mid40s. Highs today, once again, about where we are right now. The rain that moved in overnight quickly escapes the area off to the east. Were looking for a decent afternoon. Linger at the fork. Also parts of the jersey shore. Not everybody sees rain. Most of us are completely done with it. This quick cold spell that comes in tonight into tomorrow brings us the coldest air of the week. When we get past monday afternoon, it is really quiet. Taking us right through not only turkey day but friday. Well. Looking good. There is the front offshore. There has been a little bit of just offshore. New video shows smoke and flames pouring out of one of chicagos tallest skyscrapers. This started at an apartment on the 50th floor of the john hancock center. It took firefighters half an hour to put out the flames. One person was hurt. First responders told people to stay inside their units unless they had problems with smoke. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. A new mother in georgia is setting an example for her daughter proving nothing should get in the way of school. 21yearold collins did not let a little thing like going into labor prevent her from taking an important exam. She was determined to finish the online psychology test before her daughters arrival even though the newborn came five days early. My due date was november 17. I wasnt expecting. I knew she was going to come early. But she came on the worst day of all. I said, really, i have a test today. I said, i cant miss this test. Her sister snapped this picture and put this on facebook. But this version of the nutcracker gets a totally modern twist, both in how it sounds and how the dance is performed. This is not a ballet. But a hiphop version of the classic. The idea for the hiphop nutcracker was conceived here at the united palace of Cultural Arts in Washington Heights. And is inspired by the neighborhood. Jennifer weber is the choreographer and one of the directors. All of the iconic elements of the nutcracker you will see in the production. But we give it an urban son. We said this story in Washington Heights. It takes place today. There is a love story. The magic of the holidays brings everyone together. There are 11 dancers. Particularly exciting for the adult in the audience, the king of rap, curtis low, appears openingnight. He thinks this show will inspire future performers. This is the very first one that has been held underground at a subway station. I want to show you some of the people to participating in this. You can see the nypd officers and the counterterrorism Response Group holding these artificial blue guns. You can see were some of the people who were injured in the you can see if we go a little to people injured. Sitting at the back of the fake blood. You can see they are being as drill. Morning. Teams were suiting up. About 10 different arms of the nypd are participating. You have the crc, the Critical Response command that is the newly formed unit that participates. That was designed to deal with patrolling the sensitive areas of the city. You also have the srg, the Strategic Response group him in Transit Police. The fbi, secret service, Homeland Security all of these agencies here to make sure that the nypd is ready for any potential threat. I want to show you some video from friday when commissioner bill bratton was taking the subway from city hall, to grand that was to ensure new yorkers that the fit that the city is safe. There are two drills taking place this morning. Not clear if they have wrapped up the first drill and moved we will have more on those drills and the next halfhour. Police on long island are searching for the gunman who shot a man through the front door of a house in dix hills. Investigators say someone rang the bell and then fired when someone approached. The victim, a house guest from virginia, was shot in the chest. He was rushed to the hospital and is in critical condition. Police are trying to determine what the motive was for this attack. The woman accused of cutting the unborn baby out of her friends body is being held in a psych ward and facing murder charges. Police say 22yearold Ashleigh Wade pretended to be pregnant for several months fooling everyone including her boyfriend. According to investigators, Ashleigh Wade invited her pregnant friend to her home in the bronx. That is when police say Ashleigh Wade stabbed 22yearold Angelikque Sutton to death. And then cut the baby from her body. The baby survived. Angelikque sutton did not. Dozens of students at Stony Brook University are forced out of their dormitory rooms after a fire that gutted at least one room. Nobody was inside the room at oatmeal dormitory when the flames broke out around 7 00 last night. One hundred students were safely evacuated from the building. School Officials Say it does not appear the fire was suspicious. They are now working to find temporary housing for the students who were displaced. The capital of belgium is on lockdown this morning as the search continues for the man in the paris attacks. Brussels is under a level four alert right now indicating a serious and immediate threat. Subways have been closed. Officials are recommending all public activities be canceled doors closed. Security forces are hunting for 26yearold Michelle Charlesworth six 26yearold salah. A long island man is under arrest after police say he tried to run out a vacant home that was not his. Police arrested 25yearold john wallace on friday. They say he posted a vacant house on craigslist. He is accused of taking 2500 from someone who responded to the ad and then took a tour of the home back in october. He now faces burglary and grand larceny charges. Volunteers are making sure that families across the new york city area are enjoying a healthy feast. The group, 100 black men, has teamed up with walmart to distribute food packages to families in need. They are giving out turkeys, stuffing and other items to people at churches in all five boroughs. The wind changing from the south to the northwest this morning. That will bring a chilly air mass in. Some of the wind gusting around 15 up to 20 Miles Per Hour. The normal high is 52. When you look back at the books, we will say, average temperature. But the transition during the day of the air mass makes the colder much of the afternoon. And while a lot of us will be out and about enjoying sunday, it will feel cold. You want to make sure you are ready for enter like weather. Cold temperatures tonight with another front. They are being conducted in a part of the bowery subway station which is no longer in use. I want to go to some of the video of the first drill as it was wrapping up. You can see that there are people injured on stretchers. That particular andover had an active shooter on the subway platform. Several people had been shot. And Transit Police were the first to respond. The second scenario, which is still ongoing, is similar. The difference will be a train stop at the subway platform. You have that element of hysteria. People running around and screaming and crying. As well as a possible hostage situation. These drills were planned prior to the paris attacks. Clearly very timely after what happened there. A lot of agencies on scene including the fbi, secret service, army, Homeland Security. And commissioner bill bratton just showed up on the scene. He will be giving us a wrapup of what happened at both of these drills coming up soon. In fact he will be able to see him right now comingout live to the agencies. An apparent murder suicide is under investigation this morning in orange county. State police say they found a 55yearold dead inside of her car yesterday. The body of 55yearold Patrick Sorrentino was found nearby. Police say sorrentino shot her several times because he was angry over the breakup back in august. Sorrentino was a former deputy chief with the Newburgh Police department. He retired back in 2007. Divers searching a reservoir in Westchester County for a plane the crash might have found a large piece of the debris. The singleengine plane went down in the reservoir in north salem wednesday. Search crews also believe they found the remains of the two victims. They were on their way home when the plane lost radar contact. A big scare at a Movie Theater in new jersey. Security officials evacuated the multiplex leaders in edgewater after a loud noise sparked a panic. The Movie Theater was packed where Authorities Say somebody jumped over a chair and made a loud noise that sounded to some like a gunshot. Mayor Michael Mcpartland told us the noise caused a Chain Reaction among very frightened moviegoers. Everyone is on edge. We are so close to manhattan here. This would definitely would be a soft target. Something along the lines of a theater. But the response was good. I talked to the manager inside. The police were here in moments. Bombs missed bomb sniffing dogs check that the theater. Authorities gave at the all clear. Luckily nobody was hurt. The theater did remain closed for the night. New video shows smoke and flames pouring out of one chicagos tallest skyscrapers. The fire started at an apartment on the 50th floor of the john hancock center. It took firefighters half an hour to put out the flames. One person was hurt. First responders told people to stay inside their units unless they had problems with the smoke. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. President ial candidate donald trump says his comments supporting a database for american muslims were taken out of context. We ordered alcohol delivered using a young woman who is of age. This is molly. She is 26. She lives in manhattan. She usually gets carded at Liquor Stores and bars. The exception was her front door. Getting vodka delivered. There are a few popping up on the delivery. It turns out the messenger is the first and last line of defense. This is important. On mine, the delivery app never asked how old molly was. Here is the first time she tried it. Is that good . She has to ask him to check the id. Here is the second time. You look old enough. He has made the drop and is ready to go. Do you need to card me . Remember, molly is 26. Anywhere but at her front door she is carded. The company told us if a post mans except and alcohol order, it is a couriers responsibility this was a potential failure on the part of the individual couriers. There were two different scenarios played out this morning. They had multiple injuries including an nypd officer. And a hostage situation. The secret service, fbi, army, nypd were involved including counterterrorism. Hundreds of officers got started with this drill around 4 00 this morning. This was planned prior to the paris attacks. This was a practice drill. Law enforcement stresses there is no threat at this time to new york city. Reporting live in Lower Manhattan, channel 7, Eyewitness News. Police on long island are searching for the gunman who shot a man to the front door of a house in dix hills. Investigators say someone rang the bell and then fired when someone approached. The victim was a house guest from virginia. And was shot in the chest. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Police are trying to determine what the motive was for this attack. We have learned a lot this halfhour. All the stuff in the news. We have also learned that i will never again leave the desk and move into the weather. She had a tickle in her throat.
