Under the rules, the citys Transportation Department will take control of all city plazas including times square. More importantly, it would create specific areas within the plazas where commercial activity would be allowed. Which would give pedestrians the option of avoiding that scene, if they so choose. Police are now offering a shot and killed a teenager in east harlem. 16yearold juan tavares was not in the head outside the hospitals in harlem and he died at the hospital. The shooting happened across the street from a middle school. Police say the incident started as an argument between two groups at the housing complex. No arrests were made. Police are offering a 2500 reward in the case. And the race for the white house, Bernie Sanders is back on the campaign trail, after significant wins against Hillary Clinton over the weekend. New at noon, a federal lawsuit has been filed challenging a new North Carolina law that blocks local governments from passing anti discrimination rules. Republican lawmakers wanted to stop an impending charlotte ordinance allowing transgender people to use the rest rooms aligned with their gender identity. The new law prevents cities and counties from extending protections covering Sexual Orientation and gender identity at restaurants, hotels and stores. And meanwhile, georgias a gay rights bill passed by the states legislature. Nathan deal says he could not find any instances of people being forced to do something against their religious beliefs. Among other protections, the bill would shield clergy who refuse to perform samesex marriages and religious organizations from having to hire or serve gay people. An Airline Pilot is facing charges after failing a breathalyzer test when he was scheduled to fly.
