Weve got lee back with us. Its good to see were not in the cone of Hurricane Joaquin right now. First time the entire tristate area out of the cone. A dramatic shift from the Hurricane Center and its track. The wind is going to be a factor. Weve talked about this regardless of joaquin, the wind is going to be a factor in to the weekend coming on shore. Water continues to pile up along the coast. Its going to splash over some roads, street flooding along the coast. 57 degrees right now. Northeast gun gusting to 17. High today only 64. Tomorrow stays in the 50s. First time since early june. Might be dry north and west. The rain gets steadier through the day. Wind is picking up, gusting over 35, maybe even 40 along the coast and tomorrow late in the day, 50mileperhour gusts along the coast. Light rain right now. A little stead ier over the east end and Southern Ocean county. The steadiest rain tomorrow morning will be along the coast then it gets heavier in the afternoon. There is more rain coming in from the south. The big time focus is coming in from the carolinas. Notice the lighter rain along the coast in the early hours. Drizzle around and still damp. Then later in the day the rain is getting heavier, not a pretty evening commute. Its windy, raw, nasty. The rain will come inland during the overnight and then the rain gets lighter on saturday. Not heavy rain, the concern on saturday will be some of the moderate coastal flooding and the gusty breezes. Rainfall totals, well average around an inch, some spots getting an inch and a half. Our ground can handle that. Minor street flooding a possibility. That shouldnt be major. Look at these computer forecast model amounts down south. Nearly 27 inches in and around the charleston area. Thats not joaquin coming on shore. Thats just tropical rains. For us with the winds, that really cranks during the afternoon hours in to the day on saturday. North and west will be 30 to 40mileperhour winds. The strongest at the coast was 6 to 10foot waves. Minor coastal flooding tomorrow then moderate as we go in to the upcoming weekend. Heres joaquin right now. Its just terrible its moving so slowly across the bahamas. This is called long island here in the bahamas and this is crooked island. Just getting battered over and over. Winds of 130 miles per hour. Heres the difference in the track. Moving north tomorrow it has to make that move then starts to go northeast as a cat 4 and slowly weakens. Look at this track now. Thats 400 miles the center of the cone from new york city and passing to our east on monday night. That would mean some high wave action, still some coastal flooding but probably not even any rain. The only concern is the longer this hangs down there and if it doesnt make that north erly move during the day tomorrow, still the outlier chance it could go to the carolinas or midatlantic. Right now overwhelming that this is likely going to stay out to sea. Your accuweather forecast. Windy and chilly. Rain in the area tomorrow but its lighter, maybe even dry north and west. Rain is getting steadier through the day. Its a noreaster type noreaster but thats the type of impact. Gusty northeast wind. Coastal street flooding. Coastal could be moderate.
