The latest polls show ted cruz with the advantage ahead of donald trump in the cbs yougov poll 43 to 37 just above the margin of error. John kasich comes in at 18 . And in the Loras College poll cruz leads by seven points 38 to trumps 31 . Kasich back at 18 . Wisconsin could be a pivotal state for the cruz campaign. Which is trying to argue he can expand in to new geographic and demographic areas. But trump wasnt giving up any ground, holding rallies throughout the state this weekend. This while cruz barnstormed alongside top surrogates, former candidates Carly Fiorina Governor Scott walker, and u. S. Senator mike lee of utah, a change from his past Campaign Surrogates like glenn beck and duck dynasty tar phil robertson. Weve got rick perry and lindsey graham, and jeb bush, and Carly Fiorina. And wisconsins own Governor Scott walker. Now you throw in to that mix senator mike lee and mark levin, and youve got the entirety of the ideological spectrum of the Republican Party. Thats what were seeing is were seeing unity. After a difficult week handling questions an abortion and nuclear arms, donald trump continued to open up this weekend, despite a top allys advice to lay low and be patient for the news cycle to pass, as nbcs katy tur has learned. Trump kept up with interviews, one with maureen dowd of the new york times, where he admitted that tweeting an unflattering photo of heidi cruz was, quote, a mistake. And revealed to bob woodward and robert costa of the Washington Times that the u. S. Is headed for a, quote, very massive recession. And trump gave three nationally televised interviews that aired yesterday, including one with cbs that led to another clarification on his abortion stance. The laws are set now on abortion. And thats the way theyre going to remain until theyre changed. Because you had said you wanted you told bloomberg in january that you believed abortion should be banned at some point in pregnancy. Where would you well first of all i would have liked to have seen you know this be a states right. I would have preferred states rights. I think it would have been better if it were up to the states. Right now the laws are set and thats the way the laws are. Do you have a feeling how they should change . There are a lot of laws you want to change. Everything from libel to torture. Anything you want to change . At this moment the laws are set and i think we have to leave it that way. Trumps campaign issued a statement after the interview that said, quote mr. Then he will change the law through his judicial appointments, and allow the states to protect the unborn. There is nothing new or different here. And i should point out that, yes, robert costa and bob woodward are not with the Washington Times but with the Great Washington post. This as new report from msnbcs ari melber finds that both the trump and cruz campaigns are seeking to block john kasich from being on the ballot at the Republican National convention for failing to win in multiple states, signaling that the top two candidates anticipate a floor fight. Wisconsin is the big prize tomorrow, but even more delegates are at stake later this month when new york and pennsylvania have their say. Last night trump talked about the polls, and said he doesnt think his opponents will even contest the empire state. These are people that have known me for many, many years. Okay . So this isnt like, you know, you go to a state where they really dont know you very well and you have to sort of convince them who you are. I mean, boy do they know me in new york. And theyre tough. And theyre smart. And they know trump. And its something nice when they know you in new york. They know you in new york. And you have the kind of numbers that you have, which are through the roof. Nobodys seen numbers like that. Now to the democratic side. The cbs yougov poll Shows Hillary clinton and Bernie Sanders neck and neck in wisconsin ahead of tomorrows primary. Senator sanders is out front by two points 49 to 47 . That lead is within the margin of error. And that comes as a new Loras College poll out of wisconsin shows secretary clinton ahead by six points 47 to 41 . And in new york the cbs yougov poll has clinton with a 10point lead over sanders. That state votes on april 19th. Meanwhile in their latest back and forth over debates, it now appears clinton and sanders have agreed to debate before the new york primary. But on separate days and on separate networks. The Sanders Campaign said yesterday that the senator has accepted an invitation from nbc news for a sunday night primetime debate on april 10th. We hope the Clinton Campaign also accepts. Less than an hour later, abc news posted this article saying clinton has agreed to an april 15th debate on Good Morning America citing this exchange with george stephanopoulos. You and Bernie Sanders going to debate in new york . Im hoping to. You know we offered dates which they refused. You offered gma offered a debate during gma on friday, the 15th. Ill be there. I think its a great opportunity to reach an audience that may not always be able, because of other obligations, to tune in to debates. I understand theres a debate in the works for the night of the 14th. I will be there. So, i want to debate. Heres the problem with april 14th. Its one of the three dates the Sanders Campaign already rejected over the weekend pointing to a park permit for a major rally in new york city. The april 15th Good Morning America debate and a debate tonight are the other options the clinton Campaign Said over the weekend that it proposed, but the Sanders Campaign ruled out. Heres the senator explaining why. Doing it during the ncaa finals or whatever makes no sense. Doing it in the morning, when people are going to not going to be watching it in large numbers, makes no sense. Do you think she proposed tomorrow night because it was competing with the ncaa finals that she was trying to avoid a lot of viewers . Well well, i think, you know, who knows. But you know if you look at some of those democratic debates that weve had in the past many observers have noted that theyre often scheduled on days when the voter turnout the viewer turnout would not be particularly high. Lets get it on a network where people are going to be watching it at a time when people are going to be watching it. I think we can work that out. Then theres this. Hillary clinton took whats being viewed as by many as a thinly veiled swipe at sanders over his credentials as a true democrat while campaigning in wisconsin over the weekend. Heres what clinton said followed by sanders response. I do want you to understand, i am a progressive who likes to get things done. And thats what ive tried to do my whole life. And im also a democrat. And have been a proud democrat all my adult life. And i think thats kind of important if were selecting somebody to be the democratic nominee of the democratic party. Well my response is i think the secretarys getting very nervous. That poll after poll shows us doing much better against trump than she is. So what we are saying is, i believe i am the strongest candidate to take on the republicans. And the fact that i have been the longestserving independent in the history of the United States makes my candidacy even stronger. You got a lot of independents out there. So i think we can get virtually all of the democratic vote. I think we can get a lot of independent vote. I think weve got a lot of young peoples vote. Workingclass peoples vote. I think were on the way to a victory if we can win the democratic nomination. After the Los Angeles Times reported last week that federal prosecutors investigating clintons private email server had begun the process of setting up formal interviews with some of her closest aides, clinton said yesterday on meet the press that she herself has not been contacted by the fbi. Has the fbi reached out to you yet for an interview . No. No, they havent. But, you know, back in august we made clear that im happy to answer any questions that anybody might have. And i stand by that. Are you concerned that this isnt going to wrap up before the convention . No im not. Because i dont think anything inappropriate was done. And so i i have to let them decide how to resolve their security inquiry. But im not at all worried about it. This comes after the state Department Said on friday it would suspend its own internal review of whether clinton mishandled classified information on her home server. A spokesperson said the decision was made at the request of the fbi, and that the department would reassess next steps after the fbis work is complete. Also in the headlines this morning, two people were killed and at least 35 others were injured after an amtrak train struck a piece of Construction Equipment near philadelphia yesterday. According to amtrak, the train was traveling from new york to Savannah Georgia with 341 passengers and 7 crew on board when it collided with a back hoe. During a news conference, new york senator Chuck Schumer said the two People Killed were the back hoe operator and a supervisor. Both amtrak employees. It wasnt immediately clear why the back hoe was on the tracks. Suddenly there was this crunching sound and hard thuds. I mean, you if you to being in a car it would be like the worst pothole. Just more depending on where they were sitting. Fire Officials Say none of the passengers on board suffered life threatening injuries. Amtrak says Train Service will be restored today with some possible delays between philadelphia and wilmington. Turning overseas now to greece, which has begun deporting migrants and refugees on boats bound for turkey. The operation started at dawn with 131 migrants boarding two passenger boats on the greek island of lesbos. Those boats arrived in turkey early this morning. The move comes as part of a new deal reached by the European Union to reduce the number of displaced people flowing in to europe. Under the deal, turkey will take in migrants and refugees who have entered greece illegally. In return, turkey will receive more financial aid, and visafree travel in the eu for its citizens. Its a massive data dump from a Panamanian Law Firm and according to a german newspaper working with the International Consortium of investigative journalists, it allegedly shows where the rich and powerful have been hiding their wealth. Well, a number of global leaders, past and present, are mentioned in whats being called the largest data leak in history, including for example the russian leader president putin. So youre looking at a large number of people that are being implicated in this. Its important to say, though, that we know that rich people have always been moving their money around. And the law firm themselves say they specialize in setting up offshore companies in tax havens. They put out a statement saying in part they had operated beyond reproach for some 40 years. Theyve never been accused or charged with criminal wrongdoing. But you are looking at a number of names. The russian Prime Minister implicated in the leaks saying approximately 2 billion have been shuffled through banks, through offshore companies, as well linked to friends, and associates of president putin. Youve got the atlantic Prime Minister urged to resign now. Hes been implicated as well, he had millions of dollars of investments in icelandic banks. He says he hasnt done anything wrong and he didnt financially benefit, its himself and his wife. You have the Australian Tax Office also probing over 800 clients, as well, and the list goes on. Now again, its important to note that we only now that money has been moved around and its not illegal to move money around if you do it within the system. Its also very much a case of that it seems that theres a difference between whats legal and sensitive, because of the way that we see things politically, versus whats illegal. Now some of the roads are getting covered. Secondary roads in connecticut and also massachusetts. This is where the worst of it is. Were pretty much done with a lot of the snow around buffalo and rochester. New york city area southward. Too warm. Even if you do see snow falling it will melt instantly when it hits the warm ground.
