Restrain the president s military muscle. Thats coming up later in the show. To get us started Kelly Odonnell, leean caldwell, katie and ben, editorinchief of law fair and nbc analyst. Kelly, let me start with you. Were hearing from the White House Press secretary specifically pushing back today after new remarks, new comments overnight from john kelly. Remember john kelly knows this president so well, having served as his secretary of Homeland Security and then his chief of staff where it was part of his job to try to filter information coming to the president and prevent, if possible, the president from any unforced errors or miss steps during his time as chief of staff. What john kerry is say now is hes defending Alexander Vindman, removed from the National Security council after being what turned out to be a high profile witness in the impeachment trial and hearings. What happened was, vindman, of course, answered a subpoena as an active duty military office and claims he told the truth when Congress Asked him to and prior to that said he spoke up when he thought there was information missing when he thought theres additional added that needed to be added to the phone call. We know that he was removed. Some have called this a purge from the white house of those involved in the impeachment. John kelly came to his defense and said he was doing exactly what his military training led him to do, following proper chain of chand and following orders in a lawful way. And if he saw something that was not a lawful order to not do that. The press secretary reflected on her time from john kelly saying she heard Different Things in the past and she says shes disappointed. Here is grisham. I was in the room with him when he actually backed the president on many things hes saying arent great. I thought it was disingenuous. Its interesting hes starting to stick his head out and saying more just in time for an election. There was a time when the president used to fraternally talk about his generals, generals part of his administration. John kelly is one of those and now theres distance between the white house and john kelly when kelly took the side of an activity officer who kelly believes was doing his job. Hal. Let me got to the hill. Lee ann, youre posted there. You have others reacting including democrats. Republicans not so much as it relates to vindman, Justice Department, roger stone. What do you hear from your end from folks on pennsylvania avenue. Hallie, whats happening among republicans, they arent rushing to defend the president on this scenario but they arent joining democrats and calling for investigations either. What happened is republicans found a third option. A lot of them are saying now they are putting it on the judge in the case saying the judge is going to hand down an appropriate sentence and they are declining to defend him mostly. Ag barr will be on the capitol hill the end of march. Democrats are calling him and they are wanting him to answer a lot of questions. But lets hear from the president s, one of his top allies, devin nunez on fox business about ag barr coming to testify next month. Well, when the attorney general comes to testify in the nations capital, it probably wont go well for democrats. Attorney general barr seems to always have a full handled of all the facts. This is another case. Seven to nine years is assinine. Theres nunez saying barr will have the facts. Democrats are, of course, calling for investigations. Theres a growing number of democrats calling for ag barr to resign and well see if that escalates leading up to this hearing and, of course, after this hearing in about six weeks, hallie. Six weeks. A lot could happen between now and then. Leigh aenn caldwell, a lot coul happen. Prosecutors say they are concerned about pressure after the stone case. Prosecutors across the u. S. Who into on the condition of anonymity to avoid reprisal. Wary of working on any case that might catch President Trumps attention and the stone case deepened their concern. They also said they were worried attorney general barr might not support them in politically charged cases. That is rather explosive coming from the sources you talked to. Absolutely. Its the sort of thing you dont want to see happening. For people working criminal, u. S. Attorneys office prosecuting cases they are pretty much buffeted, protected from political wins. They are just doing their jobs and their jobs are generally not politicized. In this case were seeing something different. Two surprising things out of the Justice Department in addition to the decision to overrule career prosecutors and lower the sentencing recommendation for stone, which people were very, very shocked by. In addition remember the president came out and publicly criticized Robert Mueller the former director of the fbi, a very well respected figure within the Justice Department regardless of whether or not you think of the russia investigation basically accused him of committing an offense. No statement, nobody saying that was absolutely not true. Youre seeing a series of rhetorically and in action whats going on with the attorney general and whether or not he will support them. Fearing what will happen if the president starts to ask the department to engage in politically motivated investigations where there is no crime, then what happens with the leadership of the department. You also speaking to the attorney general where his head is reflecting on his first time, first goround as ag. After watergate republican administrations took the view the attorney general and Justice Department was special and different. You didnt mess around wit, didnt intervene, didnt interfe interfere. There was a lot of deference paid. Fast forward to 2020, barr is attorney general, groundbreaking conduct has demolished ones sacrosanct guardrails and this is a Pressure Point on barr. Its absolutely a Pressure Point on barr. We have to watch him closely whats next, how employees are treated, how he responds to the president if he publicly pushed back. Jeff sessions was careful to never push back from the president. Will bar be similarly boxed in . We have yet to see. When he was being confirmed, ask something he thought was completely immoral and we should note he has yet to do that. Katie, thank you. Ben, let me bring you in here. You know the ins and outs of the Justice Department, the way it works, the way it runs. What is your sense of the pressure and how prosecutors might be feeling now with the doj. Well, what the attorney general did this week and earlier in the flynn case is extraordinarily irregular. I do not know of another case that is remotely like it where the attorney general intervenes after the filing of a brief to ensure leniency for a friend of the president and associate of the president in an investigation that the president has kind of gone on tirades about. There are only two things that protect or buffet as katie describes career prosecutors from becoming political instruments of whoever happens to be in power. One is the reality that people like attorney general barrs position will protect them from political pressure and they are confident that will happen. That creates a confidence pyramid. The confidence it will happen creates the reality that it will happen. What barr did this week takes a sledgehammer to the base of that structure. I think it will have long repercussions. Every time theres an investigation or anything the president dislikes comes up, were going to have to ask the question is the attorney general adequately shielding prosecutors from the Political Goals of the president. Were even going to have to ask the worst question, is he actively within the Justice Department working toward the Political Goals with respect to that particular case of the president. Its a very damaging thing. Theres a reason why, as katie described, prosecutors are reacting to it with such alarm and it will have a very long tale. Ben, quickly, just to put a reality check context here. The president says nobody can define what roger stone did. What he did is not in dispute. A jury found him guilty of tampering with witnesses and lying during the investigation. Muellers charges against roger stone were pretty easy to understand. They involved lying to congress. They involved tampering with witnesses. They involved covering up efforts to back channel wikileaks on coordination of release of materials. It was relatively easy to understand what stone did. By the way, a jury found him guilty on seven counts seven felony counts and didnt take very long to do it. This is a fascinating personnel shift with a familiar name to anybody watching this show now. That name is hope hicks. That shift is that she is now apparently coming back to the white house. Let me go back to nbcs Kelly Odonnell. Shes joining me from there. Kelly, this is now being confirmed by a senior officials we talked to. Yes. We have statements from Jared Kushner that hope hicks, who you remember was one of the originals in 2016, she had come out of the Trump Organization and had been in the work world of donald trump as businessman, a candidate, and then president. She left the white house and was also a part of investigations and went through some lengthy days on capitol hill providing testimony. She had been around the president one of the key pieces of investigation. You recall the meeting of donald trump jr. With a meeting at trump tower and crafting a message when that meeting had first become public. She had been part of that in her work at the time as communications director. She left, went back to private life, is returning, not in the communications shop, which for those of us in our line of work arent surprised. She never appeared on camera and didnt speak to the press in a public sense the way communication directors typically do. That is followed by Stephanie Grisham who is often not available on camera. This is a sign that loyalty and relationship loyalty and relationship matter to this president even if it doesnt go both ways. But hope hicks is someone the president in many ways treated like family. You may remember the day she left the white house where he brought her out and sort of gave her a moment to be seen by the cameras. He felt great personal affinity for her. Jared kushner talks about her expertise, her strategic thinking. Stephanie grisham talks about her quiet confidence and support of the president and that they are delighted to have her return. Were just developing these details but it comes at a critical time. Post impeachment and acquittal, at a time when some of the Strategic Planning for what can be accomplished in this final year when you have many people who have peeled off and returned or moved over to the campaign side, there had been some talk about would there be a change in some of the leadership within the white house. There had been rumblings about where does Mick Mulvaney stand . Hes still acting chief of staff. Would someone like mark meadows from capitol hill come over. This news brings back into the fold someone trusted and wellknown by the president and someone who we have all dealt with over the last several years. Hope hicks time in private life was relatively short and now shes coming back to the white house and the spotlight that comes with that. That is for sure. Kelly. To be clear shes not coming back in comes role, communications, a broad advisory role, which is a little different than what she had been doing before. In many ways we will not see her interacting with the press the way she once did. It speaks to the level, advising him strategically. I expect shell be one of the people with frequent oval Office Privileges the president can rely on to make decisions and bounce ideas off. Sure. She was before. If youre next to sarah sanders. She tweeted shes thrilled shes back at the white house. Thanks. You bet. Michael bloomberg versus Michael Bloomberg why his past is in his current state of mind and how it might affect his future. President attacked me again on twitter. Thank you very much, donald. He calls me little mike. The answer is, donald, where i come from we measure height from the neck up. That was Mike Bloomberg just as we were coming on the air in north carolina, one of a whole bunch of stops hes making there and texas. Why . Super tuesday, those both have a bunch of delegates as you just heard the former new york city mayor did talk about the president s latest attacks against him. You can see him on the screen here calling him mini mike, 54 mass of dead injury but he did not attack the controversy. Another video, comments he made at the height of the financial crisis in 2008. In it, bloomberg appears to blame economic collapse on red lining, discriminatory housing practice used by banks that made it hard for people of color to qualify for mortgages. Red lining, if you remember, was the term where banks took hole neighborhoods and said people in these neighborhoods are poor. They are not going to be able to pay off their mortgages. Tell your salesman dont go into those areas and congress got involved, local elected officials as well and said, oh, thats not fair. These people should be able to get credit. Road warrior josh is there in greensburg, north carolina. Looks like youre on the bus. Thamgs for being with us. While the campaign commented on the red lining video, they have, Michael Bloomberg has not. Thats right. Were in greensburg. Were about to head to raleigh for his third event of the day. He hasnt been talking about the red lining video. In that tape that came out last night, he did go on to reach out against predator lending practices by banks. His campaign emphasizing in a statement that really what he was discussing were the negative consequences and not, you know, endorsing the policy of preventing people in minority and black and poor communities from being able to get those kinds of mortgages. But look, hallie, the kinds of attacks hes getting now are the kinds you get from your competitors and others when you start to do better in the polls, when people are starting to take you seriously as a candidate and worried you could pose a challenge. Weve seen attacks from democratic rivals in the primary and also seen them coming at an increasing pace from the president himself. That is for sure. Josh letterman on the bus. Where are you going next . Headed to raleigh, about an hour and a half from greensboro, north carolina. He won in 2016 but some of the counties hes campaigning in today are counties Hillary Clinton won. Also an important super tuesday state. Mike bloomberg hoping to really rack up the delegate count once those super tuesday states start to vote. Josh on the bus. Thanks for being with us. Let me bring in someone covering from day one, also with us msnbc political analyst who ran progressive media for Hillary Clintons campaign now senior progressive director at sirius xm. Glad to have you with us. This video that resurfaced from 2008. For people not steeped in this or think its unfair, not just red lining but underlying factuality. Ap had a nice explainer. Bloomberg was correct that the financial crisis was triggered in part to those unsuited to repay them. Red lining, used to discriminate against mississippi ort borrowers, bloomberg appears to blame qualities that brings it to the market. Red lining, makes it impossible for my family to live in the community i grew up in, new jersey, predominantly White Community to get an education. Thats in large part what black people and white families, they all have that in common. People want to live in safe communities, get quality education so their families can live a better life. Everybody has that desire. To say that red lining elimination of red lining contributed because people took out loans they couldnt afford and not pred tear lending practices that burst the bubble in 2007, 2008, it misdiagnosis the problem and exacerbates an issue hes got to deal with. His record on race is absolutely horrible. Its not just this, not just stop and frisk, he also blocked the settlement from 2002. Ava duvernay series on netflix and he blocks that payment for his spire mayoral term. These are all questions he has to answer. In your experience do you think hell tackle it head on . Something we know already. He has a 12 year record making really controversial remarks. Some remarks may not be that accurate. Some remarks on point. Something learned from 16 is these remarks may not hurt somebody as much as they did. The comment by donald trump. This is not a conventional game. Its Donald Trumps game, unconventional. Thats what hes trying to do. You think hes playing trumps game coming out saying im not mini, you measure from the neck up, youre heavy. Michael bloomberg is not coming here saying im hero of fighting income inequality, trying to give health care to everybody. The premise of his campaign, Michael Bloomberg, 12 years mayor of new york city. I have all this money to spend to defeat donald trump. Do you want me and my money or a different candidate. Thats the premise. Its interesting. As you point out alexandria ocasiocortez, Bernie Sanders backer, blasting over red lining issue. It does illustrate. It seems the divide between the progressive and moderate lanes. Were only two states into this. Were jumping ahead of our skies. Michael bloomberg has not been in a debate, not answered the questions i just laid out for you. To jump ahead and be hes the matchup against donald trump what do you think, were skipping ahead of black voters weighing in on this conversation, brown voters weighing in on this conversation. Black voters are 25 of the dpm pri democratic primary electorate. We should ask questions and they should provide answers. One thing his apparatus because of his money is so big and comparable to candidates who have been in the race months and months rather than weeks and weeks. If money didnt work in advertising we wouldnt have it. Has us look inside his 48hour dash to contain his stop and frisk crisis how leaders from constituency teams on a call, try to calm nerves, evolution from highprofile defender to deeply apollo getting of stop and terrific youve covered. Talk about his apparatus in place for answering the very questions shes talking about as well as others. He has so much money he can do whatever he wants in this case. He is hiring the best political operatives in the country. Hes trying to come up with infrastructure to be impactful in this campaign if its in the primary or a nominee. The same game played by donald trump in 2016. Do you really believe most africanamericans dont think thats the way a wall street billionaire speaks when he talks about red lining . Africanamerican voters many are set on im not going to vote for Michael Bloomberg because i dont want another billionaire in the white house and i dont like his record. Many others have tight relationships with Michael Bloomberg. Hes been cultivating those relationships with organizations, churches. Also, hes paying a lot of those staffers to sit there and not work for other campaigns. He has a record of basically throwing money at folks so they dont criticizes them. Great conversation. Thanks to both of you for being on. Thanks for the debate. I will be moderating next msnbc debate that is less than a week away live in las vegas lester holt, chuck todd, chuck from the nevada independent. Wednesday night 9 00 at msnbc and over on nbc news. Up next on this show today weve got Washington Post reporter joining me live though share his new reporting on just how much President Trumps Company Charges the secret service. Its our thursday edition of swamp watch. First weve got to share some breaking news on the coronavirus. Not too long ago the cdc confirmed the 15th case of the virus here in the united states. The latest is a person who was evacuated from china currently quarantined at an air base in texas. It follows a big oneday spike in the number of coronavirus cases. Officials in china change the criteria they are using to decide whether someone is officially affected. It means they are now more than 60,000 confirmed cases in 25 countries. The virus being blamed for more than 1300 deaths. Being blam fed than 1300 deaths my body is truly powerful. I have the power to lower my blood sugar and a1c. Because i can still make my own insulin. And trulicity activates my body to release it like its supposed to. Trulicity is for people with type 2 diabetes. Its not insulin. I take it once a week. It starts acting in my body from the first dose. Trulicity isnt for people with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Dont take trulicity if youre allergic to it, you or your family have medullary thyroid cancer, or have multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2. Stop trulicity and call your doctor right away if you have an allergic reaction, a lump or swelling in your neck, or severe stomach pain. Serious side effects may include pancreatitis. Taking trulicity with a sulfonylurea or insulin increases low blood sugar risk. Side effects include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, belly pain, and decreased appetite, which lead to dehydration and may worsen kidney problems. I have it within me to lower my a1c. Ask your doctor about trulicity. Your taxpayer dollars is going to trump owned properties. The Trump Organization said it only maintains minimal fees. But a huge investigation by Washington Post found those fees anything what you consider minimal. Some as high as 650 a night for rooms at the president s properties. David who covers the property joins us. Youve been following this for a while and House Oversight committee cited your reporting and asking for more information about this. How would they not have already known. This is whats surprising, Congress Asking the government to say how much they pay the president s businesses. They are supposed to know this. The reason they dont purchases from public businesses have not been put in public database and even reports sent to congress on those reports the lines they are supposed to report spending bedminster and maralago, those lines are left blank. Last year when asked like this, if my father travels they stay at our properties for free, meaning costs for housekeeping. If they want across the street, its 500 a night. We charge them 50, he said. From your reporting and what you understand based on your expertise in this, is that legit . We havent found any evidence thats true. Weve been trying to prove eric trump right by looking at records of what the government spent. I havent found any evidence where the government has been charged 50 for a hotel room. From 270 650 ive seen so far. We also asked Hotel Experts could eric be right . Could 650 be the cost of housekeeping at maralago, they said basically not possible. The cost of housekeeping one room at even luxury hotel is like 75 a night, so not 650. Where does this go from here . Weve only identified spending from one government agency, secret service. You have to remember state department, coast guard, send people with them when trump travels. We dont know what they spent or secret service spent in 2019. A lot more to be dug up and understand stood it. If anybody can do it, its you, my friend. Swamp watch. Not just playing out on the road but online in a big way. How one candidate using memes to try to be taken seriously on the trail. Thats next. Try to be taken seriously on the trail. Thats next. Thousands of women with metastatic Breast Cancer, which is Breast Cancer that has spread to other parts of the body, are living in the moment and taking ibrance. Ibrance with an aromatase inhibitor is for postmenopausal women or for men with hr her2 metastatic Breast Cancer, as the first hormonal based therapy. Common side effects include low red blood cell and low platelet counts, infections, tiredness, nausea, sore mouth, abnormalities in liver blood tests, diarrhea, hair thinning or loss, vomiting, rash, and loss of appetite. Be in your moment. Ask your doctor about ibrance. So Michael Bloomberg is a lot of things, billionaire, eagle scout, former mayor, president ial candidate. Now theres one thing hes trying to become, a social Media Influencer and hes willing to pay for it, pay a lot. His Campaign Working with some of the Biggest Online meme makers, remember firefest and that epic fail. Looks like a dm Campaign Asks if they can seem cool for the primary. Putting lamborghini doors on the slate escalator. Theres a lot like this and it seems to be working. The one we showed you was the most successful ad put up but it could be whether people are confused whether its real or not. It is real. Reporter online who writes about trends, thrilled to have you on. Bloomberg is trying to get into the meme game. Bloomberg has taken a new media approach to advertising. While a lot of candidates have spent so much money on tradition media, television ads, obviously bloomberg is doing that, too but trying to take over the internet. So the campaign has a statement. While a meme strategy may be new to president ial politics were betting an effective component to reach people where they are and compete with trumps powerful digital operation. Producers are like, im getting bloomberg stuff from my feed. It actually looks different. What is such a sell for people is authenticity. Can you do both . Be a politician on instagram and pay for memes and be authentic . Thats the Million Dollar question. A lot of influencers post ads for money. They are seen as authentic because people have a close relationship with influencer. They have not ever endorsed a political candidate. A lot of them speaking to them on background said they really do feel like its time for a centrist to come take on trump. I think they personally support bloomberg. Should people read memes as endorsements . I think its fair to read them as an endorsement. If you think about the way other candidates have done endorsements reaching out to influencers. I dont think an influencer would take on a brand deal if they didnt believe in the brand. Thats the point. Were talking about names like jerry media, big, big names Everybody Knows about and microinfluencers, people with 1 sth 1,000 followers. Bloomberg camp is pitching them to tell people about Michael Bloomberg. In addition to buying spots on large Media Properties like jerry media, other meme accounts, they are trying to have this ground swell of support. When you look at other candidates, for instance, Bernie Sanders, he has a very young base, active posting on social media. Unpaid. They are doing it because they consider bernie and influencer. I think bloomberg is trying to counter that with a little paid boost behind it. What was interesting in the statement for the bloomberg camp they talk about specifically President Trumps digital operation, right in bloomberg ent more than a Million Dollars a day on ample over the pa facebook. Thats five times more than what trump spent during the same period and three times what President Trump spent during day ultimately winning 2016 campaign. The amount of money the president s team spends and i know covering him and campaign spends on political media online and facebook is astronomical. Do you see bloomberg trying to take it to trumps backyard her . Absolutely. I think the Bloomberg Campaign is correct in the fact trump has very adeptly been able to leverage social to promote his campaign. Super targeted ads. Super targeted ads. Bloomberg is doing that. Also, if you think about the meme wars of politics trump promoted his message largely through memes. You see trumps meme twitter account constantly posting memes. Bloomberg recognizes that and trying to go meme for meme. Pullback, 2016 versus 2020. How much different is it going to feel online when it comes to ad wars and politics in 2020. Radically different. If you think back to 2016 influencer culture was very nascent, a lot of platforms were just evolving, just adding stories when you consider it. Now its completely ubiquitous, you have gen z, a whole new voters. Thanks for coming on. Appreciate it. Back to capitol hill. Senator kirsten gillibrand. There she is live from President Trump to bill barr to a new proposal shes unveiling today. Also watching House Speaker nancy pelosi beginning her conference. See her at the podium. Were monitoring that and will bring any news as she makes it. Bring any news as she makes it time for reflectin on family and friends and hey, we got somethin just for you sniffing its a cup of your favoriiiite. loud splashing highpitched laughter dang woodchucks with geico, the savings keep on going. Hes jai is it jrksz huge tax breaks for the rich, while the middleclass continues to struggle. Thats what happens when billionaires are able to control the political system. Our campaign is funded by the working people of this country, and those are the people that i will represent. No more tax breaks for billionaires. We are going to guarantee health care to all people and create up to 20 million good paying jobs to save this planet. Im Bernie Sanders and i approve this message because we need an economy that works for all of us, not just wealthy campaign contributors. Ive been disappointed with attorney general barrs actions for many, many months and i think we would be well suited to have a different attorney general. That was democratic senator mark warner just a couple minutes ago talking of course about attorney general bill barr. Were going to show you speaker of the house nancy pelosi. She is live on capitol hill at her weekly news conference. Were monitoring from news from her. So far shed talked about paid family leave and the budget. I want to talk to senator kirsten gillibrand. Your colleague is calling on bill barr to resign or face impeachment. Its very unlikely he would step down. Would you support his impeachment . I first believe we need an i. G. Investigation. The attorney general has acted as President Trumps henchman, time and time again. Whether it was making it difficult for the American People to see the Mueller Report is, or whether it is this instance where he has subverted his open department of justice resulting in four people resigning. It is an outrage. So we need a full investigation by the i. G. If he finds criminal conduct, then we can consider our options. And would you consider potential option of impeaching the a. G. . It depends on what we find. My focus right now is trying to get things done for the American People. Today we have an important vote on the war powers resolution. We are trying to provide oversight and account tabilitcc. If President Trump continues to conduct himself by breaking laws and union mini undermining entik of our constitution, congress will continue oversight. Do you see this as a symbolic vote aimed at sending a message to the white hous symbolic vote. It is congress and particularly the senate work on a bsa author. The constitution gives the ability to declare war to congress. I have a very wideng entirely h with these forever wars, not just this one issue with iran. Today were voting specifically about iran, but i would like to have a debate in the u. S. Senate about reclaiming that power in a much more pro active way and set time frames and limits. We are in a forever war, afghanistan 18 years based on a resolution that was passed in 2001 for what happened on 9 11. We are still at war. We have been in 20 countries against terrorist groups that didnt even exist when we passed that resolution. We are very much in a forever war. I think Congress Needs to reclaim it. They should set a twoyear time frame as well as be able to limit a president if they go i dont understand the two years without congressional authorization. Among the proposals you support and back, theres one youre rolling out on digital privacy. It will protect privacy on the internet, take complaints, initiate civil actions and give relief to people harmed by privacy violations. The question is do you have bipartisan support and what can you tell us about your conversations across the aisle on this . So i believe this will be a bipartisan issue. Ive been working with joss hawley about this specifically. He wants to do the same thing. Hes going to create his agency under the d. O. J. This is an idea that will have bipartisan support. I think you need a unique agency with a Senate Confirmed head who will have a fiveyear term and just put it into perspective of our daily lives. I have an 11yearold and 16yearold. Their data is valuable. The data of every person in america who is online is valuable. I dont want people taking their information, their contacts, their search histories and using it to sell them things or worse to sell it to a Foreign Government and undermine our National Security. As a mother this is something im deeply concerned about. When big oil came on the forefront in the beginning of the 20th century, we began to figure out how to create oversight. We created the epa in the 1970s. That was the first step to say we cannot without regard pollute air and water because its a national treasure. Our data is valuable and we should be protecting it as a National Resource as well. Two more very quick questions. First on the news of the date this morning coming out of john kelly, the former chief of staff over at the white house defending lieutenant Alexander Vindman saying he was just doing his job. Youre on the Armed Services committee. What can congress do to protect vindman . This kind of retaliation from President Trump continues to undermine our democracy and our constitution. And we will work with the Armed Services to see if theres any way to protect his career, protect his status and thats something i think that will be looked into on a bipartisan basis. And governor cuomo, your states governor, is meeting with President Trump today after indicating he might make concessions on global entry. Should the governor concede to give federal authorities any access to the dmv database . Where are you on this . So ive spoken to the person who is in charge of this decision and i asked specifically why are you doing this. And he said because we need it do become ground checks through the dmv for both misdemeanor and felony convictions and i pushed become and i said thats absurd. A misdemeanor convince is not going to desomeone a global entry but a felony conviction would and you can get that from their record.
