Be very careful this that ocean. But it is starting to dry out in that location. As we head out to the poconos you can see it has still got that hey we just had shower look, 55 degrees there so very cool start to the morning. As you head up to the north. And from the palmyra cove nature park, look at that, little bit of reduced visibility out there this morning. Soap being expect to see that until we do start to see some of the improvement coming up. Well, Drought Conditions in california are so bad that some home own remembers getting creative there so they can have a green lawn, the grass looks perfect even without a drop of water. Thats because it is painted yep, nontoxic paint covers up brown spots for about three months, in the missed community of porter ville what you are seeing here, water wells have dried up, residents relying on bottled water. So it sounds like the color of their lawn isnt the worse thing thats happening there the biggest concern. , no i think their new green will have to be brown because how much green paint can you possibly spread on things . Exactly. Quite a problem out there. We didnt have that problem here. No. We had maybe the reverse problem. Weve seen so much rain, and we continue to see couple of showers out there. But yesterday some really significant amounts of rain going on. Lets take a look, shall we . And we see right now in ocean city, it is not the brightest of beach days to start but i think your afternoon will look a lot better than your morning. This is the same thing that we dealt with last weekend when it was just horrible looking but the day got better. And i think we will be finding the same thing. Be real careful out in the ocean, in the last picture you could see, it is very rough and churning. And look at this. This morning the ben franklin bridge area, this is really interesting look. Weve got low clouds. Weve got some fog. It is quite a morning out there. And even through center city in the the top half of the building just about cut off because of the low hanging clouds out there this morning. Lots of moisture in the air. Down in cape may courthouse, you can see just really gloomy look to start the day. But i think there will be improvement. A little bit later on, so i guess maybe thats better than working the other way. I mentioned few lingering showers, not everywhere, but woe definitely have them still out there in a couple of spots, teshly to the north thats where the flood watch was, at least initially yesterday. Though, i tell you what, i think south jersey it was not in the flood watch initially ended up getting the most rain of all. 67 degrees in philadelphia right now, six an in wilmington, 63 in trenton go north of the city, temperatures are in the 50s, this is very cool morning out there. And then go to the south and weve got temperatures in the zero humid lower 70s already this morning rain amounts chads worth, in new jersey, over four and a half, love four and a half inches every rain medford, Burlington County 2. 20 inches. Folsome, atlantic county, 3. 49 inches. Shamong, Burlington County, two and a half inches. Ambler, in pennsylvania, 2. 80 inches. So, you can see that we did see quite a bit of rain to say the least. Thats an understatement. When you see that in one rainstorm, you have seen a lot of rain. Than is the doppler estimate, where the very heaviest was and you can see, it is in south jersey, and they just pick up a ton of rain there. And then where that flood watch was those were the lesser and the out there. Soap, it is sometimes you have got to take when you see a flood watch in your area it, may not be right over your house, that you covered but you may have to say i bet im close to the system so better watch out. So just tremendous amount of rain coming down once again and many of those areas where they are still dealing with no power from last weeks storm. Now, gradual improvement. Were happy to say. So we pull the last bits of showers out of here, and today looks better, tomorrow looks even better, with our temperatures getting into the lower 80s mostly sunny skies so i think later on this afternoon probably like the weather better than did you yesterday. All right, so this computer mod sell completely right about where these showers are right now it says, as we get to up about 10 00 this morning, most of those are gone. One or two come back, they are light, they wrap around, but still, you get sunshine, you get sunshine at the shore little built later on, you get sun and clouds and that sort of thing this evening and then we looking at roll nice looking day monday. Things are fine. I wont even stop t then by the time we get to tuesday looks like weve got another chance of picking up some rain showers. And maybe a thunderstorm as we hit tuesday afternoon. So the second part of the day on tuesday possibly, and then maybe again on wednesday because were just in that kind of weather pattern. Our temperatures today lower 08 as here, at the shore the poconos, everybody, the weather improves. It doesnt look great now. It will improve as we get through the afternoon hours. Our temperatures, lower 80s winds out of the west ten to 15 miles per hour, thats in a drying direction. We could use. That will tonight we drop down to 62 degrees, partly cloudy, it will be little bit breezy out there tonight. And then over the next couple of days, notice the top row of numbers, those are the highs in the afternoon every day they are in the 80s so not finding any undue heat coming up. Other thing you might notice just about every day the way it looks right now except for monday, which is sunny and saturday, it looks as if we could be dealing with at least chance of a shower or thunderstorm, subject to change, of course, it is the weather, nicole. Weve got cloudy skies here, weve got cloudy skies out in reading, but i think you will find the things are improving little built. Ocean city, is truely an ocean, and look at these waves come in here. It is a moderate risk of rip current. You will be more tempted to go to the beaches this afternoon than this morning, im sure, because right now, there is nobody out on the beaches. But there will be, because the sun will be coming out there it just looks not great right now. And this is almost an ocean here. This is on the playground, at the Whitfield Elementary School in reading. Look at all of the puddles. Looks like at the sky thinking about brightening up a little bit, which would be nice. Temperature every 60 degrees this morning. It is summertime, sometimes getting a 06 degrees temperature is not a bad thing, and sometimes getting some rain showers not bad thing. And i hope you feel that way through cape may county, because you are just about to get somement you can see, it is coming across the bay, it is just left delaware, or on it way out of delaware, still some of the delaware beaches getting. That will but cape may county, going to also be getting into this, and probably the northern section rather, the southern section of atlantic county. There are few other showers scattered around, now generally moving to the east of the philadelphia area. And they will be gone. We cant totally rule out maybe wrap around light shower, but the bulk of this is leaving right now. 67 degrees in philadelphia, some 10 degrees cooler in the allentown area, at 57 degrees. And then we head to the south out of the 73, that it was in millville, starting to drop little bit there at 68 degrees still, 73 in wildwood, where the showers are coming, and in Atlantic City 73 degrees. Now, i have this one up. Wide view. Just to make it feel better about all of the rain weve seen because this is the drought monitor. When you get into this color thats the extreme drought. Look at it, through california. What they would give to get some rain like we saw and out west, it is not great. I was just out in portland, last week, and it is pretty dry out there too. And then we head into our area remember, we did have dry through here, we were even talking a little bit about geez drought . No, all of the dry weather where there isnt yet enough, is till to the north. But we are just fine. Were 4 inches over on the rainfall totals. And speaking of 4 inches of totals, some areas through here pick up 4 inches of rain yesterday. So yes lot of precipitation out there. But improving weather coming later on today and tomorrow, as well. Now, well move through this pretty quick limit just notice very light couple of scattered showers, see the clouds hanging on longer north and west of philadelphia, today otherwise, we got great looking day today later on, and on monday, but tuesday look what happens again. We start to pick up more showers around here. We will be keeping just kind of an unsettled weather pattern over the next couple of days. But, improving weather today. 81 degrees, this afternoon still, a scattered shower around at the shore 80 degrees with some sunshine later on, 70 in the poconos get rid of the shower this morning little bit after breeze out of the west, but thats a drying direction. Tonight, we drop down to 62 degrees, then over the next couple of days, looking at temperatures that will be in the 80s every single day but every single day just about except for monday, and maybe hopefully the fourth of july should be dry. But, that may be changing, as well. Nicole . Carol, thank you. Lets see. It is about 6 47. Lets check in with ann for more on the traffic situation. Hey, ann . Hello nicole, and of course be very careful this morning, drive carefully, a lot of rain in the area, just heard carols forecast. And speaking of the rain well, as far as flooding conditions go, so far we dont have any major ones to tell but, but we have enough that the new jersey transits River Line Service suspended between Walter Rand Transportation Center and the Entertainment Center due to flooding, media elwin line suspended until further notice because of weather conditions. So could be possible flooding conditions out there just always drive carefully. What you are looking at now is the schuylkill at the vine expressway, eastbound lables to the right of your screen, we just had an accident cleared here, and it is good to go so far despite the rain. Moving the traffic cam this is i95 at the airport. Look at the rain, pelting against the traffic lens. A lot of rainy conditions out there, despite that, i95 is moving along fine, without any major delays or problems. And on to the ben franklin bridge, there you go, more rain, it gets that camera lens but the ben franklin bridge itself is in pretty good shape. We have construction on the bridge. Westbound lanes heading into philadelphia the entire lent of the bridge, the right lane is closed if you are headed to the shore no delays so far on the a. C. Expressway or the garden state parkway. And in avalon, still have town set inch lent bridge, still closed. Thats the latest from the cbs3 traffic center. Im ann evans nicole, back to you.
