Thats why the change in precipitation obviously, and we do actually sit right on the edge of where the changeover is taking place, specifically in the poconos, thats where youre still finding a little bit of icing out there. Hearing from our Weather Watcher Network off that way telling us there is a the least eighth of an inch of ice on the ground, specifically came from keith in saylorsburg. Thank you for those reports. This is really just location dependent at this point. But it is primarily rain for most of us. And the temperatures tell that story. So, we are going to have to see how we do here regardless expect that the rain is going to slow you down. Morning drive specially. Afternoon, evening, though, really just left over with some clouds, maybe pasng shower, but certainly far less of a problem than what we are finding out there right now. Whats happening is you are having people walk over this archway right here, and it is causing slow downs, gaper delays, you have got loss of lanes, you can see on the southbound side where the accident is. It is back all the way. So youre just literally not moving in and around this area even though the left lanes are the only ones compromised, again get that gaper delay. All of the updates coming up. First a quick break, stay right where you good morning, we have our eye on a storm thats bringing a whole lot of rain to philadelphia, and the surrounding areas, there is also a chance for wintery weather in the Lehigh Valley, and the poconos, as we look live right now at storm scan3. And this is one of the rare days where i feel like everyone is affected by this, pocket here, pocket there, really everyone getting a taste of this. Absolutely for the most part mostly rain for most of you. But the further north you go, the better the chance becomes to see a little bit every icing out there. Certainly found. That will but at this point it is pretty much relegated to the mountain us terrain. Thats where it is cold enough. Suns not even up yet. It is warmfront though. So at least it is not snow. Exactly. Unless thats what you were craving. So sore. I not happening this time, though. But yes, if you were to maybe travel to up new england youll definitely find quite a bit of snow falling. Right now storm scan locally you can see how the pink is getting pushed out by the, you know, just sort of being shove the door because the warmer air moving n so, as a result, it is primarily rain. Bulk of which i feel like at this point we can say has now moved through. Youre still obviously finding rainfall, here at the local level, some of it is steadily falling, especially along portions of the garden state parkway for example, where you have some of the yellow starting show up on the radar, darker shades of green. Even still, we have already seen the damage been donnie guess could you say, bala cynwyd as well as chalfont, picking up. 8 of an inch, over half inch has fall never hokessing and the list goes on where you have seen quite a bit of rain already falling. And there is still a Winter Weather advisory posted until 11 00 this morning, we will see if it lasts until 11 00 this morning, just because starting to see the changeovertake place from ice to rain at this point in the poconos, but, if you recall yesterday, berks county, Lehigh Valley, actually included when this, theyve since been removed from the Winter Weather advisory. So this is one of those situations where the temperature tells the story. Depending how cold or warm it is, in your neighborhood, that will dictate what you see out there. It is all rain basically from the Lehigh Valley on south. When you have got temperatures as they are, heck youre mid 50s in wildwood. But 20s in mount pocono, yes, it will be little dicey for travel when it comes to slick spots. Now around the region as a whole, it looks like this is totally gone. Right around lunchtime. Perhaps lingering shower for some of you. But the bulk of wet wet letter have long since retreated we head to the afternoon perhaps with lingering shower, but milder afternoon, we should hit about 62 degrees, at the height of the day here. So well above average for one thing. But also, certainly, the worse of what we are finding out there right now, meisha, a we will thankfully be gone. Yes, we just have to get through this morning commute. Good morning, everyone, happy tuesday to you. Still very wet. Still very slick out there. Causing some problems out on the roadways, what you are looking at right beside me, overturned vehicle. This is the blue route southbound at mcdade boulevard. Good news is it was blocking both southbound and northbound for awhile. Now, the accident, moving in the southbound side condense today far left lane, blocking all lanes for a moment, now just the far left. No more on the northbound side. Thee travelers moving in the southbound direction, thats where we have the overturned vehicle there, working, tirelessly, trying to get this cleared out of your way because like i said all lanes were blocked now you can see two are getting by. But still, very, very busy, in and around the area. If you can hold off from the area right now, i would. If you have to get out there, just give yourself couple of extra minute. This is another accident right around kind of similar area, blue route northbound at broomall. The left lane is block, so again, another blue route, this is leg you know that the blue route area, very, very zoick, very wet, weve seen problems all morning long, new jersey, 42 freeway northbound, looking good, just looking very busy just 15 minutes ago when we took a peak at this, it wasnt that busy. Right now, 6 44, speaking of our area, katie, just that rain, seems to be big problem, right . It real i you know, across the region weve primarily just been looking at rain, but were starting to see, even the icy mess, most notable, up in the poconos, starting to retreat at this point. And our eyewitness weather watchers have been hard at work keeping us updated. Thank you so much. You really dont understanded how much it means us to, especially when changeable weather as weve had, how much those neighborhood observations really, really help us in our report. So thank you, once more for that. Let me start things off by taking you out to reading. Fortyfour from dave, finding strictly rainfall, talking about dew points, it is wet, it is ugly, windy, no ice, though, as these temperatures continue to inch up slowly, 42 degrees in reading pa. Across the delaware, well into South Central new jersey, where margo is reporting also some rain at 49 degrees. Calling it rain, heavy at times, and hoping at least at this point that we start to see some sunshine come the new year. We can at least promise that. Looking forward. Lets go to one more. Just take a picture here. Go off to the north, little chillier, john reporting 36 this hour, at perkasie, and again, rain there. Chilly granted, chilly rain, but hes got just rain, and the snowfall if we did have enough colder air, it would be impressive. Because you have so much rain coming down in the last few hours, now thankfully it isnt snow and ice so much for our area at this point. Because these temperatures continue to climb. As the warmer air against drawn north, allowing the temperatures again to just go on uphill climb. So thats all were going to find, even if you do still have icing, yes, finding few pockets of it, here and there, the poconos really is the southern most extent at this point of any kind of icing situation. So it is strictly rain for everyone else. And that does bode well for travel. Although it is still little bit of nightmare out there as you are trying to get out and about. Meisha after course the full update there. Talking future ice, even though again it is just this one little section, just a tent of an inch of ice all you need for there to be major issues. Please keep in mind that at this point in addition to you what already seen you could still see few hundreds of inch of ice come down before the change over to strictly rain. Looking forward at the eyewitness weather seven day forecast, todays the warm et cetera day of the pack, also the wettest day of the pack. Eventually High Pressure will rebuild itself. We are also seeing more cars on the roads this time, more people waking up, headed off to work at this time. The good news is that penndot did pre treat many roads in this area. And 12hour shifts yesterday, just in case, this water that did fall down in rain form got colder and turned to ice. So the relief is on the roads. So far you wont find lot of ice in the area. And at this point, still even little hint of ice showing up across portions at least of northern carbon, monroe counties, but warmer air starting to take over. Actually going to see this draw to close within the next couple of hours, by lunchtime it is basically done. So, it is really just now that weve got to deal with. And then, the seven day forecast, meisha, a gets brighter and brighter so we dry things up. Oh, we are looking forward to that, arent we, katy .
