The couple says several members of this group caught on camera just before the attack yelled gay slurs at them, and beat them. One of the victims spent more than three days in the hospital and had his jaw wired shut. This story sparked national outrage, and three people from bucks county were eventually identified, with the help of social media, and arrested for the assault. But currently, in pennsylvania, they cant be charged with hate crime, because the law only covers race, religion, ethnicity, not sexual orientation. While some state lawmakers are working to change that, philadelphia lawmakers want to takings in the meantime. The bill here in philadelphia would provide additional penalties, for crimes motivated by sexual orientation, gender identity, and disabilities, Defense Attorneys for the three suspects, in that hate crime, or in that crime, in that beating, say their clients were not motivated by antigay sentiment. Officers responded to a call of shots fired on the 300 block of east indianna avenue in fair hills. Investigators describe the suspects as two hispanic males, dark hooded sweatshirts. They were seen running on b street, toward cambria, no word yet on motive for that shooting. Also, new this morning, Fire Destroys corner row home in philadelphias frankford neighborhood overnight. It happened around 12 30, 2,000 block of granite street. Firefighters battled flames from the second floor that far home, for about ten minutes, before getting it under control. Chelsey burns body in the middle of the street when her mom, registered nurse, who was out looking for her, pulled up. Just her heartbeat, there wasnt she wasnt breathing, but i tried cpr. And i tried, and i tried, and nothing. Reporter burns, mothers of three year old boy, struck by a vehicle while walking home friday night at around 11 30, on alloway woodstown road near east lake road pilesgrove. Her mom said the 25 year old had gotten in a argue w her boyfriend and got out of the car to walk home. The boyfriends then called burns mom who tried in vein to save her daughter, when she came across the accident scene. She was dead. She died. She died upon impact im sure and im sure it was very quick. They say burns struck twice, the driver of the first car didnt stop, the driver of the second car did. Police believe the 245 year old died after being hit by the first vehicle. There is no solid description available about that first car, or who the driver may be, and so thats why the burns have decided to speak publicly about the death of their daughter. Theyre hoping someone may have perhaps spot add neighbors vehicle with unexplained damage or seen someone tried to hide trying to hide a vehicle. Im not really mad at who ever did this. But, today, actually going to be miler day, as is we technically are still sitting in the warmer sector of this storm system. So in terms of the pollen report, dont worry about those being super high. In fact, theyre extremely low to the point that our arrows are almost off the map here. Ragweed still the concern for any of that you are super allergy sufferers, ragweed will be the one for you here to dodge over the next couple of days. But you might want to think about keeping the rain gear at the ready, even though not expecting any casino of a wash out, widespread, we are expecting some showers.
