Greg . Reporter police are actively investigating this case, the noose spotted near 18th and lombard. Philadelphia police releasing surveillance of two men they say may be responsible. Friday morning, at the corner of 18th and lombard, this disturbing discovery, a hang mans noose dangling from a tree. Could be someone playing a prank. Were concerned obviously any time you see a noose or that type of artifact it conjures up images of lynching. Philly pd said theyre taking no chances collecting the noose and helping to determine who placed it on the tree. Friday police releasing this video showing two males, one white one black walking away from the tree, seconds earlier the white male tossed the rope over the branch the shocking and disgusting. And frankly sad neighbors upset i was appalled terrible. Seems like a bad pattern that emerging. The annual celebration of dutch culture been around decades and filled with food, fun and a bit of a History Lesson as well. In 1950, three professors from Franklin Marshal college in lancaster started the festival. Chose kutztown because it represented pennsylvania dutch culture so well. Now, in its 68th year, the festival features 200 traditional crafts men working on live demonstrations in six stages of entertainment. Showcasing the music and the dance of the culture. And speaking of dancing, a lot of that today from sheep shearing to square dancing, the sights and sounds of the festival were all the buzz. What were doing is starting on the body and the belly. Hex signs derive from barn stars and were started by milton hill at the kutztown 19 1952. So many festival goers wanted to take his designs, they cut wood circles and hill started painting them and selling them as well and the rest tori is history indeed. Speaking of selling. Youve seen all the artistry things, but these quilts are pieces of art. And the prices, well, i guess theyre not shocking when you really think about how much work goes into them. Its unusual to go that high. But this was a very, very special quilt. And the lady who made that after it was sold figured out that she got paid 37 cents an hour. But the skilled crafts women and men for the love of it showing off their passion piece by piece.
